My wife and I stopped by Don Maguey for the first time while passing through the area for lunch before heading back home to Boca Raton. Parking was a bit challenging due to the limited number of spaces, but once we walked inside, the experience more than made up for it. We were warmly greeted by Carolina, who also became our server. She was incredibly patient and took her time walking us through the menu, explaining each dish and how everything is prepared. Her dedication to customer satisfaction truly stood out, and we hope management recognizes what an asset she is. Carolina proudly shared that every item on the menu is made in‑house, and it absolutely shows. My wife ordered the Quesadilla de Pollo with a side of Arroz Mexicano and couldn't stop talking about the exceptional flavors. I chose the Tostada al Pastor, a small Tortilla Soup, and a side salad. Everything was delicious, but the Tortilla Soup was the star of the meal--a perfect example of why in‑house preparation matters. Since we're not from the area, we weren't sure where to go for lunch, and we truly lucked out choosing Don Maguey--and having Carolina as our server. Thank you, Carolina. BEWARE: Before I get to the food; the waitress is manipulating the system to receive more of a tip. My food total charge with tax was $60 and change, I left a $10 and change tip. When I looked 20 minutes after at my credit card statement read I had been charged $77 and change pending a potential tip on top of that, even with tip included it is still over approximately $7 what I signed off for. We called to determine the prices of each individual meal and "the manager" was stumbling to tell us the prices for everything. Even with the fake numbers that were given to us it still didn't add up correctly. I remember the prices for the 3 meals my family and I ordered and I remember what the check said. I let it be because maybe they need more than I do. As for the food, I'm born and raised on the border of Mexico and although I must say it does scream authenticity especially on appearance the meat is bland, and that "Mexican rice" is by far the worst tasting rice I've had. For a casual person that likes Mexican food you may like it, but if you know what you're tasting you will not. Also, they didn't have 4 different things on the menu available ultimately leading me to have to go with my 5th option. What a GREAT find via Yelp! It was exactly what I was hoping to find! My daughter had the taste for Mexican and this place seemed to fit the bill! Great signage outside, so they were easy to spot driving there. They were kind of busy when we walked in at about 7:30 PM on a Tuesday, but we were able to sit down right away. The server came over to us immediately, she was very friendly, very professional looking and very accommodating. Our only disappointment was that it was Tuesday and they did not have any 'Taco Tuesday specials. We started off ordering two margaritas. One a regular and one being a passionfruit. These two margaritas were definitely handmade without any high fructose. Corn syrup mixes added to it. They were absolutely delicious, in fact, some of the best margaritas I ever had. We ended up ordering both tacos and a burrito. The flavor of the food was excellent, the temperature was hot and the portions were excellent. As with most Mexican restaurants, we were served tortilla chips and salsa that were fresh and slightly warm. Super friendly waiters and an amazing kitchen make this restaurant a great experience every time you come here. The menu isn't big but it truly has everyone's favorite dishes. Tiny basket of chips were brought to the table as well as 2 teeny tiny sauces for dipping. One red and one green. There was no salsa offered. We loved everything we ate here!! As someone who grew up in Arizona, and was traveling from California, I was floored at how delicious and authentic the food was. Favorites included both the salsas provided when we sat down (spicy though, especially the red salsa, so beware), the rib-eye tacos, the vegetarian burrito, the margaritas (strong!), and the enchiladas. The horchata was also solid. My uncle, also from AZ, said it was the best vegetarian burrito he had ever had. For the enchiladas, the red sauce is a more plain tomato-base whereas the green sauce was more flavorful, but both were good, it's just up to preference. The red sauce was elevated by mixing in the spicy red salsa. Overall everything we ate and drank was delicious. It is a bit loud and crowded inside, but we were able to sit right away nonetheless on a Thursday around 7pm. It's just not a very spread out/roomy table situation so be prepared to possibly cram in a bit. Worth it for the food, though. And service was also great. read more

I came for the mole and it did not disappoint. The shopping center that it's in does not give you much confidence as you park. However, all of that melts away as you are greeted by the host and see all of the smiling guests sitting around enjoying their food as it's an extension of their home. It's not a big place - so be prepared to wait. I came on a Sunday evening around 6:30 pm and just missed the dinner rush crowd. You would not expect such deliciousness in this neighborhood south of MIA airport, east of Westchester. I found out about this place from a video on social media. Their table salsa game is pretty strong and a good pre-amble to what else was coming. I laser focused on the chicken mole enchiladas and they were quite good. The black mole was semi sweet and slightly smoky and make for a great dipping sauce as well. The entree came with rice and beans. I'm always on the lookout for a good, authentic Mexican restaurant. This is the place! I came here on a Saturday night. It was busy. I had to park on the street where it said NO PARKING. But everyone was parked there, as their parking lot is very small. There was a 25 minute wait, even though it was only for one person. It was about 6pm. They called my cell phone, as I went to sit in my car. There's nowhere to wait. Sadly, they told me that there was "no TO-Go service as they were full"! That was very disappointing as I had told my kids I'd bring them all back something and they'd all chosen things off of the menu. Once I was sat, however, the lady asked me if I was there for dine in, or to-go?!? So I guess they could have done take away? ‍ They sat me at the bar. I ordered the Don elotes and the mole chicken enchiladas. They brought me a basket of chips with red and green salsa. Both salsas were pretty spicy. The red was more spicy. The chips are pretty bland, but something to hold you off while you wait for your food. The elotes arrived very hot. I had to wait a while to be able to eat them. They were pretty good. The mole chicken enchiladas came out shortly after. They came with a side of rice and refried beans. Everything was delicious! I was only able to eat half of everything and I was stuffed! They have beer, wine, sangria, and margaritas. BUT, the margaritas are just from a bottle of premixed stuff that you can buy in Publix. They just shake it in a shaker and pour it into a salted rim glass. They are NOT handmade margaritas. So, I just had water. I was happily surprised that everyone spoke perfect English. The waitress who took care of me was great! Very helpful and professional! The reviews all say that people spend $10-20 a person. I don't know how. My bill was $32 before tax or tip.
