Some friends treated me to dinner for my birthday celebration tonight, and we headed to Wynwood. After walking around and checking out a few places, we decided to stop at Bakon--and what a fantastic choice! From the moment we arrived, we were seated immediately. Our server, Francisco, was exceptional, and Exantus, the server assistant, was equally impressive. They worked together like a well-oiled machine. Exantus constantly made sure our table was cleared of empty plates and glasses, and he kept the table dry by wiping away the condensation from our drinks. With the Miami heat, that little extra attention made a big difference. Francisco provided outstanding service. He was friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He answered all of our questions, offered great recommendations, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The drinks were fabulous--we enjoyed several different margaritas with a variety of flavors, and every one was delicious. I can't remember the names of all the dishes we ordered, but I can honestly say everything we tried was amazing. The food was flavorful, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. Between the outstanding service, incredible food, delicious cocktails, and welcoming atmosphere, Bakon made my birthday celebration even more special. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're in Wynwood. I'll definitely be back!
BEST MEXICAN FOOD IVE HAD IN THE US!!! I don't even know where to begin. We didn't book a reservation because it was a last minute decision. However we arrived around 8 pm and hung out at the bar until a table was available. We ordered two drinks at the bar. The restaurant specializes in Mezcal and tequila. Upon availability the front desk staff came over and got us. The service was phenomenal, our waiter was attentive and offered great recommendations. We ordered: Drinks Classica Margarita 5/5 Mango Margarita 5/5 Mezcal Mule 4/5 Cilantro Marg 5/5 Apps Grasshopper Tostada 5/5 Chorizo Queso 5/5 Entree Sea bass tacos 5/5 Skirt steak 5/5 Literally no complaints and I can't wait to come back here. The quality of food, service, ambiance everything was phenomenal. One of the best meal experiences I had in Miami out of the past 4 years of going.
Went to Bakan for happy hour with coworkers and had a great time. I didn't try the food this time around, but the drinks definitely stood out. I had the spicy margarita, which had the perfect kick without being overpowering, and also tried the watermelon margarita, very refreshing. The vibe perfect for after-work drinks. Service was at the bar was great. I'll definitely be back to try the food next time.
We went to Bakan in the afternoon and had a great experience! The service was amazing, and the food was delicious and beautifully plated. We sat outside, which was really nice, and they have fans that made it comfortable even with the warm weather. Their corn tortillas are something they're known for and definitely worth trying. Overall, I really enjoyed our visit and would absolutely recommend Bakan!
The food was cooked to perfection!! The octopus and steak that we had literally made my mouth water. The service was impeccable our server was so energetic, funny and knowledgeable he was a true pleasure. The place is very intimate at cute great for a cute date night.
I dined in at Bakan for taco Tuesday. The tacos were $5 each and had a pretty good selection of options to choose from. They do not serve chips and salsa for the table. We originally ordered the tuna appetizer, but the restaurant was out of it. We ended up choosing the ceviche as a starter, and it was very light and fresh. We're unsure what type of fish it was, because the server didn't know lol. I ordered one spicy shrimp taco, one Mahi taco, and one skinny chicken taco. The Mahi taco was definitely my favorite and the most flavorful. The skinny taco was served on lettuce instead of a tortilla. I was a little underwhelmed on the tacos. I thought for the price they would be spectacular, but they were pretty average. I really wanted to try the lobster and chorizo tacos, but they were not included on the taco Tuesday menu. I will definitely make sure to try those the next time I come here! The service was fairly quick, aside from missing a taco from our order. They got the missing taco out to us within a few minutes, and they regularly came by to clear our plates. We dined on the patio, but I did go inside to use the restroom at one point. The interior was very cool and vibey. There was a DJ playing and the music in the bathroom was extremely loud.
The vibe is immaculate. If the weather is even remotely nice, do yourself a favor and sit outside. It honestly feels like you are being transported to Tulum. The food? Shockingly not overpriced for how legit it is. Start with the guacamole its a non-negotiable. It sets the tone and lets you know you're in very capable hands. My partner and I are still thinking about the Sera Melon cocktail. Honestly, it stole the show. Refreshing, balanced, and dangerously drinkable. I dropped my Classic Margarita and the staff graciously swooped in with a replacement. Zero judgment, only kindness. We ordered a couple of mole dishes, and wow deep, rich, authentic flavors that taste like someone's abuela is quietly running the kitchen in the best way possible. One of my favorite Wynwood spots hands down, and yes, I will absolutely be back. Also great for people watching lol.
The skirt steak was tender and had a delicious wood-fired, "a la leña" flavor that I really enjoyed. I loved how fresh the guacamole tasted, and it paired perfectly with the beans and blue corn tortillas that came with the dish. I also liked the melted cotija cheese on top of the poblano because it added a savory touch. This is one of their signature dishes, and I would definitely recommend it. Service was friendly and attentive. The ambience varies depending on whether you sit indoors or outdoors. Outdoors, you feel like you are in Wynwood.
Stopped by Bakan on a Tuesday and it made for the perfect late-night Taco Tuesday spot. They have an awesome $5 taco special with a great variety to choose from, and everything tasted super fresh. The freshly made tortillas were definitely a highlight and really elevated the tacos. The atmosphere was lively and fun, with great service and a cool vibe all around. Definitely a great place to grab tacos and drinks with friends.
Met some friends after work. Didn't have a reservation but they wanted to hang out at the bar. At 5:00pm on a weekday it was not too crowded and there was plenty of nearby street parking. I really wanted to try the Nopales salad - cactus salad. I ordered it with grilled octopus. The nopales were very good and definitely different from anything I've had. I was expecting them to taste smokier. There was a light pickle taste to something else on the plate. Not sure if it was the nopales or a topping. It was served with half an avocado and two large, round tortilla chips. The octopus was devine and I only wish the piece was bigger. The prices are on the higher side but the food, drinks and service is excellent. The salad with the octopus as an extra plus tax and tip was $39.
Came to Bakan for dinner and was seated right away. We sat outside and it was a beautiful night with perfect weather, which made the whole vibe even better. The ambiance here is really nice and has that fun, lively Wynwood energy. We ordered the chicken quesadilla, which actually comes more like three tacos, and they were so good. We also got the short rib tacos and those were amazing too. Everything was flavorful, and well-seasoned. Overall, a great dinner spot with good food and a really nice atmosphere. I would definitely return.
This place is great if you're looking for good Mexican food in Miami! I've eaten both inside and outside. The outdoor seating is great when the weather permits. Service was great but nothing that is overtly exceptional. They have an extensive collection of tequila and mezcal for those seeking a restaurant with such options. Their queso is excellent but this time I did the los esquites (corn) which was fresh and delicious. For entree I had the mole verde. The mole had a great flavor and the sea bass was perfectly flaky with a good sear. Their tortillas are freshly made and fantastic. The table gets two salsas, one more mild (red) and the other more spicy (green). I enjoy the heat and the green salsa was phenomenal. I also tried the duck enchiladas. The flavor was good but I'm not sure I could have told you it was duck or not. Overall a great spot to visit and highly recommend if you're hankering for Mexican food.

Bakan is easily one of my favorite spots in Wynwood. I come here 3-4 times a week and it never disappoints. The skirt steak is my go-to and it hits every single time. The food is consistently great, the atmosphere is always a vibe, and in my opinion, the drinks are by far some of the best in Wynwood. A huge shoutout to Frank! If you come here, ask for him and tell him Daniel sent you. His customer service is next level. He remembers your order for future visits, always makes sure you're taken care of, and genuinely goes above and beyond. You can tell he loves what he does, and that makes the experience even better. There's a reason I keep coming back multiple times a week. Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere, and even better service. 5 stars every time! read more

Visited Bakan during the World Cup final (Argentina vs. Spain) with a large party, and they graciously accommodated us as a walk-in--we were fortunate to snag indoor seating on a whim in Wynwood, and I'm grateful for that. The server was phenomenal, and the food tasted great, though portions run a little small for the price. One thing that caught me off guard: most of the table ordered tacos and enchiladas, but when the plates arrived, the "tacos" were essentially flautas and the "enchiladas" were more like tacos (the photo shown is the enchiladas). Naming aside, both dishes were delicious. We were also celebrating a birthday, and the staff sang for her and brought out a complimentary dessert--hands down the best brownie dessert I've ever had. The drinks were good, the food came out hot, and the ambiance was wonderful, with friendly, kind staff throughout. What did we order? Chorizo Queso: Not your traditional dipping queso, but FULL of flavor and the chorizo was great, decent portion. The table loved this. Comes with some warm fresh purple corn tortillas! 9/10 Guacamole: Nothing extraordinary, standard guac, I wish there was more guac and chips! The tortillas these come with are the same as the queso but fried and uncut. A little different but it was a nice change! 7/10 Chicken and Chorizo Enchiladas: Not your standard enchilada that you may be used to! Full of flavor though and everything was cooked very well! 8/10! Drinks: 10/10 Fair warning: expect a bit of sticker shock when the bill arrives. read more

This was the first stop in my totally unplanned Sunday Funday and I had zero regret! It was my first time having the food and I enjoyed every minute! We sat at the bar since there isn't a bad seat in the place with such a nice aesthetic. The bartender was friendly and helpful with explaining the menu. My son in law had the vegan bowl, my daughter the shrimp tacos, and I had the oxtail tacos. Everything was a 10/10! My daughter and I swapped a taco and ended up getting another order of the shrimp to share. They were my fav. For my drink I had Hugo spritz. Couldn't go wrong there. One of the best tacos on town stopped in looking for good eats and saw this nice place as I walked by. At first I did not like the loud DJ playing good music very load making it hard to hear the waitress. Inside was ice cold, better to eat outside. Once I tasted the food it all changed. This place has definitely the best food around. The only small problem was on my bill for a party of 2 people they added a 20% tip with a not saying you could add more. The bottom line is the food is great. read more

Absolutely fantastic! This restaurant has it all, delicious food, excellent service and a great ambiance! One of the best grilled octopus I had eaten in a long time, perfectly cooked. The cocktails are amazing, full of taste and flavors. The bar attenders are fantastic! The service is top notch, restaurant manager Francisco and his team do great job at making you feel welcomed and provided excellent recommendations. Definitely give this restaurant a try, you won't be disappointed. Enjoy every bite, every sip! read more

We went on a cruise recently & had a day in Miami after the cruise, before we flew home. We went downtown & checked out Bakan. It was such a cute place! We sat outside & grabbed some drinks & an appetizer, just kind of hopping around to a few places. My sister ordered a Mojito & I ordered a margarita. The drinks were good. We ordered the Elote appetizer x 2 because we didn't know how sharable these would be. We were not prepared for this & have never had something like this before! The corn came out & it was the biggest kernels I've ever seen. I didn't even know they made corn like this. I'm not sure if it's because my brain couldn't wrap my head around this being corn, but some of us liked it but also thought it tasted a little bit like mac & cheese. It was just different. We also tried a sample of the guac with chips. It was really good! I wish the chips were actual chips instead of blue corn tostadas. I liked the aesthetics of this but I didn't feel like they were practical. We had them refill these "chips" three times because they only brought 4 out & there were 4 of us. Overall, we liked this place but didn't try actual food. Service was great. read more
Get the ribeye on cherry grill with all the fixings it's like fajitas but 10,000 better and then get the melon margarita. Steak was cooked perfectly! Salsas are amazing it was perfect for 2 to share! Bakan is a fun, modern restaurant in Wynwood. It's a great place to take a break from the heat with some delicious food. Our server started us off with salsa and chips. The green salsa, which is certainly house-made, was phenomenal. It was a bit spicy, but the flavor was incredible. I ordered a three taco plate which came with beans and a little slaw. I got two short rib tacos and one shredded chicken taco that was off the menu. The short rib tacos blew me away. The meat was so flavorful and perfectly braised. The corn tortilla was beautifully fresh and, with a squeeze of lime juice, these tacos were heavenly. The shredded chicken taco was also good but less unique overall. The plate was a bit pricey for $20++, but honestly really enjoyed the meal. All of the staff were very polite and the aesthetic of the restaurant was very cool. read more
Uplifting hop ambiance, phenomenal service, delicious well thought out menu, drinks you'll order more of, and space for your bro's girlfriend's birthday surprise party! The staff there went out of their way to make sure we had an amazing party and the privacy we needed. Woooow! This doesn't happen anywhere in Wynwood. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Get the guac or ceviche for the table. The tacos and main dishes are all delicious! Definitely come and experience Bakan for yourself for any occasion! read more

The cutest spot! Part outdoor, part indoor - totally embodies the tulum vibes. Most of the menu is pretty gluten free (not the mole sauce!) but the blue corn tortillas areeeee Gosh the menu is so cute and has suggested pairings for drinks and the wait staff are very kind and break down the menu for you. Food is delicious and tastes so different - very unique. The prices are reasonable and portions are fair. Come for the mezcal!!!! That's all. Enjoy read more

Busy place in Miami FL with outdoor seating to people watch & enjoy the weather. Their margaritas are great tasting but I prefer the simple tequila agave & lime. We started w guacamole that has spicy green & red sauce. They use blue corn tortillas for everything. We enjoyed it. I ordered 3 pulled chicken enchiladas that were uniquely made with mole negro, goat cheese & sesame seeds. Nice flavors! My hubby ordered meat n cheese thinking it would be like charcuterie but it was served hot! He enjoyed it. read more

Such a fun, colorful, delicious experience! Parking: street parking or near by garages but they will require a little bit of walking Ambiance: the outdoor seating area makes you feel like you are in a tropical rainforest, the inside of the restaurant is much cooler but also carries a fun tropical vibe Food & Beverage: the drinks are so fun! My friends ordered the watermelon margarita and everyone loved it! (A little on the sweet side) the mango one was to die for as well. They served it in the clay looking glasses something. I ordered the verde cilantro drink, did not love it. The apps were fantastic - we tried the grasshopper tacos for the table! I feel like it's a must if you come to this place. If you are looking for something on the lighter fare the shrimp lettuce wraps were the best. For dessert the churros and the flan are must order. For a large party: the server was very attentive and did a great job of keeping up with everyone's orders and check split. Will definitely be back! read more
Oh my Goodness! You think of Wynwood as a toursist trap these days. So, the restaurants come and go. I didn't expect much when I decided to eat here. The restaurant was decorated cute and the staff were friendly. Our server, Fernando was knowledgeable and even let us try some molo sauce. Everything we ordered was fresh and so yummy. The perfect outdoor patio bar to enjoy the Miami breeze in a beautiful and lively atmosphere. We came to celebrate a birthday. But at $19 per delicious drink, we only stayed for an hour or two. I recommend the carajillo, the freshly made espresso with espresso tequila was my favorite. Service from our bartender was perfect, friendly and efficient. The inside dining room was beautiful but quiet and relatively empty. read more

I was able to come back to Bakan once more for a date night and to try their grilled items from their A La Lena menu. The service was amazing. My partner and I were seated right away since our reservation i was at 7:00 pm. The hostess was nice and she accommodated us right away. We were seated inside, and the decor is beautiful. The kitchen was also a semi open layout, so you can for sure smell the tasty food right away. I got the skirt steak, and oh my goodness it was delicious. It literally melts in your mouth. There was also a flaky sea salt on the table for you to season to your liking. I like how the steak is actually medium rare because I have been to places where the steak was not done correctly. It also came with fixings with the cheese stuffed poblano peppers, corn, guacamole and beans. My boyfriend got the short rib tacos. The tortillas were so nice and soft and complemented the flavors of the short rib. Our waitress checked on us and we were able to meet German, the store manager, making sure we were accommodated correctly. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very different from when I went for brunch. I love how you can bring your date or your grandma or whoever. It's a good place to have friends and family over. Mezcal for days. They used to stock the outside bar with a variety of mezcal, but now its adorns the walls as mostly decor. Does anyone know if they're still open? Today is Tuesday, May 25th. We've been calling and can't get anyone to answer the phone and there isn't a vm either.
They are probably super busy. The Weekend tourist are already there.
Do they have Sunday Brunch?
We went during the week and they open at noon daily. There's no special brunch menu that I'm aware.
