I wish they had a bigger place in this area because they totally deserve a bigger place! The 8th street location is rather small but they will seat you right away, or you might have to wait briefly for a table to finish their meal...which is a great opportunity to check out the bar and try one of their craft cocktails. We were there for happy hour so I ordered the guacamole and nachos from the happy hour menu and both were fantastic!! The chips are fried fresh in the restaurant and you can definitely tell the difference. The toppings on the nachos were not your usual but they added the flavors needed to make this dish top notch! After picking up a friend at Miami airport, we looked for the best taco Tuesday option in the area on the way to her Airbnb. I'm so happy we found La Diosa Taqueria! We were warmly greeted as we entered. Once we spoke in English, our server spoke English the rest of the meal. We started with drinks, tamarind margaritas. They were amazing! You could taste every ingredient and they came together perfectly! Our appetizer was homemade guacamole with homemade chips and salsas. I took half home and the chips were still crispy the next day! The guacamole was freshly mashed and tasted great the 2nd day as well. I had the chicken and mushroom tacos, she had birria. What an amazing experience! We decided to try this place out accidentally walking down the street! We were actually looking to dine at another establishment not far from this location, but a quick Yelp look made us change our mind. The vibes, staff, and food was the absolute best. We ordered the steak fajitas, tacos, quesadillas, chips and corn appetizer (super good), churros, and tres leches. We also tried their lemonade...which was super refreshing! They will provide a card that you can tap your phone on for viewing their full menu. After going through the entire menu multiple times, we settled on enough food to get us full. There was more than enough food...so much so...we were able to eat two more times from our leftovers. There were no issues ordering food and the wait time to receive our eats was not long at all. The decor was nice and our seat was directly under the super pink rose wall that read "La Diosa". It was the perfect seat to watch the bartender create fancy drinks for other customers. Note: During our visit (roughly 8:30PM), there was only one bartender, one staffer for taking orders, and one staffer to assist in delivering food to tables. If you come for lunch, they have a great $18 deal that includes a soup/salad, a dish and the best berry tea "Jamaican tea". The chips were crunchy, came with the nacho cheese, all the toppings like avocado and radish, and your choice of protein. I ended up picking the Al pastor as the protein and it did not disappoint: tender and flavorful. Staff were welcoming. The food was great, and the drinks are also very good. We had a variation of tacos and appetizers, and everything was delicious. The cochinita pibil tacos were very good and plentiful. Actually, all tacos are packed with meats. Very filling. Queso fundido with chorizo appetizer was very flavorful and is usually great for sharing. The best overall taco was the quinoa shrimp taco. Outstanding! Service was a little slow even though there were almost no other tables to take care of. That is why this place only gets 4 stars. The restaurant is cozy and has a nice vibe and decor. Had guac & chips which was good, smooth not chunky, nice flavor. Tacos come in 2's & can only get 2 of the same type. My friend got the Baja fish (breaded mahi) & I got the mojo shrimp. We shared so we could try one of each. Both had good flavor & liked them . Only criticism is they're made on smaller size tortillas so not huge also the fish taco came with more cabbage & stuff on top, shrimp only had a few radish shavings. I went with family and we had a few different things. First they bring you chips with 3 different salsas; mild, medium, and hot and while I like spicy food I wasn't prepared for how spicy the hot one was My dad and step mom had chicken fajitas, server suggested adding another protein, they declined which was a good choice for them as it already included a pretty nice sized pile of chicken with veggies. My nephew had a carne asada burrito which he tore up so fast there was no doubt he enjoyed it! I had a chicken quesadilla thinking I'd take some to go but it was so good I found myself eating the whole thing. Now for the drinks, of course they have model negra, I had a spicy passion fruit margarita which was excellent, and my stepmom had an old fashioned. Their liquor apparently has a lower alcohol content so she found hers to be a little weak (even with an extra shot). Came here to eat an early dinner to avoid rush hour traffic since I was in the area. First impression was funny as I walked in everyone kind of just stared at me but granted I have yellow/blue hair and was wearing a skull shirt. I was kind of left speechless so I just pointed down to say I was eating in and I was seated at a table nearby. The service after the initial awkwardness was great and attentive. I wasn't left waiting or wondering much. The moment it looked like I was done with something, I was approached to see if I needed something. The food itself was great. I had the elote, la costra taco (a taco with grilled cheese) , chips and salsa, and churros. The elotes were amazing and I'd probably get them again. It was the right amount of tajin without overtaking the corn. Chips and salsa were chips and salsa. I don't really care for it much but that's a general opinion. The taco was great! I found it dry at first (I picked chicken for the protein) but I used the sauces from the chips and it wet it just the right amount. As for the churro, I'm not really into sweets much but this was the highlight of the whole thing. The churros came with a scoop of ice cream and nutella/dulce de leche to dip the churros in. It was the right amount of sweet with crunch textures that made me love this as a dessert. I would come to this place again to try some more different things from their menu. Recommended! read more

The trio fajitas are the best fajitas I've had and I make sure to come back every month or to get them. The portion size is great for the price. Was not expecting the trendy interior when I entered this restaurant from a small parking lot in Little Havana. The businesses around it seemed more, well, Little Havana - and I worried this one was a tourist trap. Fortunately, I was pleasantly surprised by the nice service and good food. Servers were attentive and nice. They seemed like they wanted to get us to order more but they weren't pushy. The tacos are 3 for 2 during happy hour. The mushroom tacos were good and three of them was a nice amount of food since they also give you chips and salsa. Honestly would be overpriced if not happy hour and there were only two to an order though. Monday to Friday from 4-7 pm, it includes tacos 3x2, $5 small bites offers including guacamole, $8 margaritas and well drinks, wine for $6, and beer for $5! We got there around 6 pm and started with the happy hour guacamole which is smaller than the regular one but perfect to just share while waiting for the taco trios! I also ordered a Pinot Grigio which was refreshing and my boyfriend got a classic margarita. For tacos I ordered the mushroom tacos, these are some of my favorite mushroom tacos in Miami, and my boyfriend got the Asada Steak Tacos. We were driving to another restaurant for dinner on a Tuesday night when we spotted this place on 8th St. and decided to come here instead. We're fans of authentic Mexican and were excited to try La Diosa. We started off with an order of chips and guacamole, then ordered the sopes (which comes with 3, but they're small), and since it was taco Tuesday, we each had 4 tacos. All the foods we tried here were very good and flavorful, the staff were outgoing and attentive and we liked this place. They're also open later than many other restaurants most nights. Do know that, while they list things like margaritas, mojitos and craft cocktails on their menu supposedly made with vodka, rum and mezcal, La Diosa only has a license to serve beer and wine, so their cocktails are made with spirits that have a much lower alcohol content vs. what you'd be served in bars and restaurants that have a proper liquor license. Also, we came here during taco Tuesday so tacos were only $4 each, but regular menu prices are a bit more expensive than they should be. As mentioned, the cocktails here aren't very potent and contain little detectable alcohol, yet they still charge $14 on average for them which is higher than one pays for drinks with standard alcohol content in some cocktail bars. An order of sopes is $18 for 3 that are tiny compared to what one gets at many other authentic Mexican restaurants in Miami. read more

This is a very unassuming place from the outside but delivers in terms of food, service and ambiance. Food--they provide chips and salsa (mild, medium and hot) on the house and while I enjoyed all the items I ordered (Aguachile de Camaron, rock fish taco and quinoa taco), my favorite was the quinoa taco. It was savory with a hint of sweet and served in a shot glass with this tasty sauce. You'll go back wanting for more. The margarita was okay and is the reason I gave this place 4 stars instead 5. The service was implacable! Friendly Joe's as you walk in, servers constantly checking on you and my water cup was never empty. They also asked if I wanted dessert but I was full. 3/26/24 we came to this restaurant at on a Tuesday around 8pm. It was me, my husband, two teenage kiddos and a 5 year old. I kind of wanted to visit the World Famous Cuban spot across the street but I said next time maybe. I looked up reviews here on Yelp. We were greeted right way and sat at a table that worked. Spicy Margarita was a 9/10. I just wish it was bigger maybe? Lol but it wasn't very spicy and it wasn't very sweet. It was to me a perfect mix. Queso fondue was my favorite. Also that kids meal steak was the star of the show!!! The steak in that kids meal was something I would expect from a 5 star steak house! I would come back just for that. To me the tacos were great but I'm still thinking of the steak. 180.00 dinner. Chicken nachos were small for my 14 year old son. Quesadillas were ok. I'm telling you the kids steak w as the winner. The tacos are amazing!! Got stranded in Miami flight cancelled and after reading reviews decided this would hopefully make my night better. I ordered the sampler taco platter and a Michelada! The Michelada was on point and the salsas they serve prior to the meal are phenomenal! From sweet to spicy they do not disappoint! My fav was the roasted jalapeño one in the middle the habanero one that was perfectly spicy for me! Service was also good, it's a small place. The bad: wasn't a fan of the drinks, they were kinda weak, and also wasn't a fan of the tortilla chips, they make them very well done here. I went away from getting typical tacos and went for the bowl. I did not regret it. It's was so flavorful, with so many things in the bowl. Rice, beans, carne, plantains, pico de gallo, slices of avocado, and crema. We also had the queso fundido with chorizo. Very delicious with the tortilla. The chips and salsa were good as well, but even better and preferred with the guacamole, than the sauces they served.
