I was visiting Elkins during the 4th of July, we arrived late and this was the only restaurant open, I didn't like it from the outside, the place is old but they have invested in the decor, chandeliers, Mexican art and so on, unfortunately the silverware is so old that even after washing it looks dirty and bent, I refused to used them Yo be fair the steak tacos were a bit salty but good, so was the crazy pineapple a mix of chicken. Shrimp and veggies on a pinnacle shell, the drinks were ok, and the service was good When I left the restaurant, I felt like taking a shower, but a lot had to do with the old building the restaurant is on

    Delicious!!! Carnitas and pineapple tacos

Found this gem while visiting from out of town. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was lively and warm. The wait staff were extremely friendly and very attentive. We will definitely be back.

Stopped to eat over Labor Day weekend. We are from out of town but my friend that came with me likes to stop here. We were seated quickly and ordered a couple of cheese dips, which they brought before they ever brought the chips. They did bring the chips after a few more minutes. They serve their chips with salsa and a white Mexican dip. My friends ordered the Toreko Chimichanga plus a soft taco off the a la carte menu, and I ordered the 2 Amigos Quesadilla. Our food was really good, but they didn't bring my friend's soft taco. He had to ask about it after we were almost finished eating. The server finally did bring it out. The food was really tasty. I really enjoyed my quesadillas. There were a few hiccups on the serving side, but overall, I would come back.

Good place. The waiter was very attentive and polite. The food was authentic Mexican, not Tex-Mex thankfully. We really enjoyed it.

Excellent meal here, "spicy" food was actually as advertised Service was spot on. Choice of two chips dipping sauces is appreciated.

Delicious food, fast service and great prices! The burrito Azteca is phenomenal! It a bit busy on the weekends but worth the wait.

Not too much to look at from the outside, but the food is fantastic. The beef chimichanga was cooked perfectly. Highly recommended.

Welcome back, Hellbender's…read more... Probably a poor decision by previous owner to close this mountain goldmine. Given basic management skills, this burrito joint is a potential goldmine. Following a ski day, folks park all over the streets and line-up for a quick sandwich. Cold beer and a similar menu satisfy locals and skiers alike. Not much more in Davis competes with this hole in the wall. Dine in and take out keep this place open. Very small diner with awful layout - too bad new owners did not relocate to larger venue Recommend almost any burrito; add a giant pepperoni roll with cheese and peppers to the menu. We recommend....

3.5/5 After working…read moreup an appetite hiking Seneca Rocks, we headed back to Davis for burritos. You can order to go or at the bar and then seat yourself. There's upstairs seating and a handful of tables of different sizes in the front room. You're gonna feel awkward no matter where you want to stand in line to order. The guacamole is freshly made daily. It was a generous portion and better than I expected, if not a tiny bit under-salted. The chips were standard, it would really elevate things if they were made in house too. We had two hefty burritos that came out quick, and they didn't skimp on ingredients. The classic chicken burrito with cilantro lime rice, black beans, cheese and tomatillo hot salsa (3/5) and a specialty burrito "The Shovelhead" which was seitan in barbeque sauce with their horseradish coleslaw, rice, & cheddar jack cheese (4/5). It's worth noting that any burrito can be ordered as a bowl. The Shovelhead gets credit for uniqueness of ingredients, flavor profile, and overall it was texturally pleasing. Would order again! The chicken in my burrito was simultaneously a bit on the dry side, and the salsa was inexplicably sweeter than one would want a hot salsa to be. That said, I would totally order it again and make use of the hot sauces that were off to the side. I sadly didn't notice them until I went to bus my table :( the Frank's red hot on each dining table seemed a weird choice for the establishment so I was bummed to realize later that there were several other options (like cholula, el yucateco - both standard roja and verde) in a designated but easy to miss spot. Burritos are pretty much a main food group in our diet. We don't drink but there were some cool rotating taps. They had some other offering too, like kombucha and both sweet and unsweetened bottled tea. To sum it up, at $50 incl tip, this lunch for two was filling and perfectly acceptable.
