Food was EXCELLENT, best breadsticks (technically, wedges) I've had in years. Pizza was AMAZING, with sauce I bet was house made. Service was really good, friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. Cash only, so remember to bring your dollars. Will be a frequent diner from now on. Can't wait to try some of the salads, sandwiches, and pasta!

LOCAL, local, local,... We Love local and local Italian.... A favorite for many years - all pasta is excellent. Lots of street parking. Sirianni's is much too small and crowded; service is always excellent. Request Italian Sausage sandwich - hot

Very local pizza shop. When you walk into the restaurant, you know there is a history. Delicious pasta, and pizza! They serve local beers and have takeout. Also, I love that you can take a bag of the homemade pizza dough home and make your own pizza in the upcoming week.

The main reason to come to this restaurant is the atmosphere. This is the type of place you expect to find in a small town with oodles of charm. The food was good too. The salad was made with really fresh vegetables and the pizza was loaded with those same fresh ingredients. I recommend this place 10 out of 10.

Disclaimer: cash only!! There is an ATM by the entrance if needed. This place was one of the few restaurants open downtown on a Monday night so my family stumbled in. They were pretty busy so we sat a table near the door and we quickly found out that the front door swings open if you don't close it properly and with every incoming customer who didn't close it all the way everyone at the front of the restaurant shot darts from their eyes. My family visited during ski season so they were pretty busy and they seemed to also be short staffed. We waited over an hour for our pizza and pasta so we were glad we ordered salads for an appetizer. There was a sign saying there is a $5 fee for whining so we made sure to wait patiently (haha). For the food, it was pretty standard American pizza. We were surprised when we ordered a Neapolitan pizza and it was basically a cheese pizza with some basil. The pasta is apparently all made in-house - a pleasant surprise.

Decent food but lousy service. They only take cash and seem to prefer that you not even come there in the first place.

The coleslaw was finely shredded, which was a pleasant surprise, and dressed in the regular mayo sauce. The tartar sauce was the only thing mediocre seeing as it wasn't that tangy or acidic, it was pickley, which I like pickles, but I want my tartar sauce not that pickley. Now, as for why I only give it two stars. I came in with a group of 12 for lunch at about 1. I know this can be a bit overwhelming, but I don't think they had properly trained for scenarios like this. We talked to a waitress/host and she had said that they are doing tables in sections, which we were like, "We understand and would be ok if you had to split us into two tables," but I just don't think she knew what to do. So, she asked her manager, I presume, and they ended up putting tables together to accommodate us, and turned it into a teaching moment saying, "Anyone can do this" in reference to putting available tables together to seat a large group such as ours. After we were seated and had gotten our menus we put our drink orders in, which came out within a fair amount of minutes. We put in our food orders about 5 minutes later. Nothing too customized, just normal cheese, no cheese, sub regular fries for sweet potato. She took our order and never came back to our table until the food came out. This was a good 50+ minutes. I understand food for a large group can have a long wait time, but part of the service industry is giving updates and refreshing drinks. Other tables had came and went during the time we were there, it was quite bothersome. We had someone go up and ask about our food since we were all hungry and a bit ticked off. Soon after that we got what we ordered. Well, mostly at least. One person had ordered the portobello sandwich and that comes with sweet potato fries according to the menu. They came with regular for her plate. Not that she complained, the regular turned out more crispy than the sweet potato. It would have been nice to know in advance that they would have to sub it if they had ran out of sweet potato fries however. We asked for refills and once we got them she brought ketchup, asked if we needed anything else, and left us alone again. Our server along with seeming new, also had a tired/I don't like my job vibe the whole time. At the end of our meal, we got the check with 18% gratuity already set as the tip since we had a large group. The food was good, but I don't think we'll be back for our next big family trip up here. It seemed like they did best with smaller groups 2-4. Just make note if you're coming up here with a large party.

This place perfectly personifies the spirit of Thomas, WV, and maybe even a little bit of Davis mixed in there too. The building is historic with tons of character, located right at the end of the loop as if you can't exit town without paying homage. The inside has soooo much character and is decorated perfectly in a mad hatter style. We often stop here for ice cream during our wanderings of Wild Wonderful West Virginia but have been known to get food from time to time as well. I would say that everything is honestly priced. They aren't trying to get rich and they aren't trying to rip off the community, just serve it and make a living and keep the doors open. The food is on the cheaper side and the quality matches. I don't think they're after any Michelin stars but more interested in just feeding the people. Service is on par with the attitude of the building and blended well. Just enough at just the right time. You might have to swap a few chairs from one table to the next to find the right combination for your party as I think all of the chairs in there are different. They also serve the community by hosting music, up to 300 events per year according to their website. That's one of the only times I skipped the fiddle when I was passing through was when they had a band with a cover and we just wanted food. We wanted to sit down and eat but were told we had to pay if we stayed but could take the food to go or outside without the entrance fee. I think we just went over to Picnic instead which is also a great local spot! See you next summer fiddle!

I talked into the meatball hoagie with a house salad with the house dressing. Can't wait to eat.... The house salad and Italian bread with soft butter were outstanding. By the number of ingredients, that salad was made with a lot of love. Waiting on the meatball hoagie.... The mixed peppers on the meatball with a large mound of melted mozzarella cheese. The sandwich was large enough that it was a struggle to get my mouth around it to take a bite and that's a good thing! The meatballs and red sauce were as good as ever. My sister had never been to Muriale's so she became an instant fan. After 8 years away this meal was great. Don't ever change and keep it classy. Thank you!

As we're temporarily home bound, a friend brought us delicious takeout from Muriale's. We shared two somewhat-similar and tasty entrees, (1) Eggplant Parmesan ($21) featuring lightly breaded and fried eggplant, fresh mozzarella, ricotta, house-made marinara sauce and (2) Veal Parmesan ($24), with lighted breaded and fried veal, fresh mozzarella, and house-made meat sauce. Both entrees were served with a side of spaghetti and tomato-based sauce, house salad, and garlic toast. Note that the house salad was excellent, consisting of fresh greens, onions, cheese, olives, tomatoes, pepperoni, and roasted red peppers. We chose the balsamic vinaigrette as our dressing. (Side salads in the Fairmont/Clarksburg area are often only iceberg lettuce and a shaving or two of carrots). Our initial thought was that the prices were a bit on the higher side. However, in seeing the high quality of the food, the generous portions, and the "extras" that were included (salad, garlic toast, etc.), we feel that it was a good value.
