    Lots of seating

I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this spot until now. Since I went with my boss recently, I have a perfect excuse to do it now. I talked him into lunch here and he said he hadn't been in a LONG time, and overall, we were both very impressed. I mean, it was good before, but they've really stepped up their game since my last visit. The inside is still the same, lots of comfortable seating, and a very laid back atmosphere. Their food menu seemed larger than I recall with lots more tasty options. Their libations menu seemed larger too. We started with the classic chips and salsa along with an order of fresh guacamole. Both the salsa and the guac were excellent with a nice jalapeno kick. I couldn't stop eating both and it was tough to choose which I liked more. For our mains, my boss ordered a bowl of Azteca soup and two chicken tamales, and I ordered the tacos al pastor. We didn't wait long at all before it was all ready. My boss's soup was HUGE and he really enjoyed it as well as the tamales. My al pastor was some of the best I've had in a while and I liked that they had big chunks of pineapple in it instead of tiny pieces like many places. It also had a nice spicy kick that made my nose run a little. Totally worth it though. I really forgot how good this place is so this lunch was a great reminder. I think I'll be bringing my lady along next time for a meal and some margaritas.

We went to Don Rigo on a Friday night and it wasn't very busy. There was a larger party in the back room, but other than that everybody else was at the bar with this being said it took our server a while to get to us. We ordered queso and chips and my daughter ordered the tacos. It came out hot and fresh and tasty. But again the service was subpar. We waited about 20 minutes to get our check after we were finished eating.

Don Rigo is a typical Tex-Mex restaurant with a couple twists. As a vegetarian, I opted for a veggie custom combo- where tamales raja was an option. Good tamales are not always available and this was tasty with my cheese enchilada, beans and rice and a fresh green salad. My husband had a shredded beef burrito deluxe platter with two- and one burrito is going home for lunch tomorrow. Portions are generous . The house margarita gold medium was large and everything was delicious. The only ding was on the service. There were five servers lurking as the host stand when we came in and yet the time between visits to our table was a bit too long. We had to ask for water and small plates for the warm chips and salsa that came with the dinner. All told, smallish issues. This is a restaurant worth trying in an area with little to offer. As always, our pictures reflect a dinner well-consumed

Tiny soufflé cup of sour cream and small order of guacamole.

We called Don Rigo for carryout last night. We ordered the Pollo Don Rigo, an a la carte Chile Poblano, and the "create your own" nachos with chicken and cheese and added the option to add tomatoes, sour cream, and lettuce to the nachos, and an order of guacamole dip. The person who took my order read it back to me, and I reiterated that we wanted the create your own nachos. She confirmed that is what she had. I picked up the order and didn't look through the bag (my mistake). The order I received was Nacho Locos that was double the price f what I ordered. In addition, I was charged separately for extra sour cream and extra pico de gallo. I didn't receive any pico de gallo, and both the sour cream side (for $1.49) and the guacamole ($4.99) were tiny. Not good value at all. The food was good, but not what I ordered, and not good value for the cost.

okay service, had to send back food for wrong order but other than that tasted good! Quick & fast service.

We eat here weekly with friends and family. Atmosphere great. Quick service and excellent food. We enjoy many things on the menu including tamales and enchiladas. Steak tacos are a hit with our grandchildren.

We were seated immediately. Traditional Mexican style restaurant set up it was great. Large building. The chips and salsa was great. The queso dip was solid. The banana flavor was out but the raspberry daiquiri was fantastic. So reasonably priced. But the real winner was the burrito california! Best burrito I've had in so long! It was amazing I can't say enough good things about this burrito.

    Don Rigo's Enchiladas to go!

Don Rigo took over from our favorite Mexican restaurant, El Ranchito, a few years back. It's a very small chain and turns out decent meals. Our go-to order is Don Rigo's Enchiladas, following an initial recommendation from the staff. It's a lot of food for $14. You get three enchiladas (chicken or steak - we get one order of each and share) topped with green salsa, avocado, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. It comes with rice and a banana pepper stuffed with chorizo. While they are serving meals inside, we order to-go and our orders have come with a generous bag of chips and salsa for dipping. Their website tells you when your food will be ready and staff inside are masked and friendly. I only wish there was hand sanitizer at the pay station.

First time trying this place and it did not disappoint. The service was great as was the food. Ordered the veggie enchiladas which were filled with spinach and topped with mushrooms, peppers, potatoes and cheeses sauce. Would definitely get again.

I want to begin by the fact that I do love eating here. Maybe because Mexican is my favorite type of food, or maybe because the ambiance here is always good. The food came very fast and my veggie enchilada was delicious. There are a few things that could be done better however. The wait was a lot longer than they originally told us. The guacamole we ordered was a tiny strange-looking dollop. I think what really bothered me was when the server came with my plate, told me it's extremely hot, and went to hand it to me. I didn't want to grab it and it was an awkward exchange. He ended up sliding it over to me and I went to feel it and it scalded me after just a touch so I am glad I didn't grab it. The food was good though and made great leftovers. I also got a medium margarita. As a college student who drinks regularly, I can say that these are the strongest drinks I have probably ever had. Even the small margarita got me very tipsy one time: enjoy with care. Overall, I will definitely keep coming back! Also: the menu needs gluten-free labels!

Chicken quesadilla beef tacos one bag of chips
    Tiffiny B.

I would give 0 stars if it was possible. Worst tacos ever. The beef literally didn't have any flavor. I didn't even know it was possible to make beef void of beef flavor. Tacos were soggy. One bag of chips for 4 entrees. Quesadilla was even soggy from them sitting it in refried beans ....and all of it was disgusting. Total waste of money and time. $40 for this. I'm not sure how they are even in business unless it's for the alcohol and dine in.

So because this was a meet-up, I did not take any pictures of my food. My experience was so lacking from years ago, that afterwards I felt I needed to share it sans photos. The staff was extremely friendly and the food came out quickly. It was the quality that was lacking. I'm sure there have been many changes in chefs/cooks over the past decade, but these staples: bowl of chili and sweet potato fries were just lacking. Both have been on the menu since I used to go there long ago. The chili was watery- almost like a tomato soup with a bit of beef. Toppings were nice: sour cream, onions, cheddar cheese. The sweat potato fries were overdone and a smaller portion for the price, but I understand the cost issues restaurants face today, so I had no problem with the price. The side pineapple sauce tasted just like it did years ago, so I was happy with that consistency. I'm hoping this was just an off day for the kitchen staff. The host and wait staff were exceptional.

To start this place is a "sit down" but you have to order at the bar and they bring it to you. We were a tad thrown off with that since they literally had waiters and people roaming around, didn't make sense to me. But that was just the start! We decided to order nachos and a pretzel to start the meal. The pretzel was disgusting, hard and lacking flavor and the $14 nachos was a side plate with a small portion of nachos on it. I asked the server what was with the size of the nachos and he said he though they were normal. They aren't, you go to a normal bar and for $14 comes out a platter with nachos that are loaded. Then our mains came out, my wife's salad was gross, lacking flavor and with dry chicken and my burger was decent. For $90 this meal should have been WAYYY better. We left feeling very disappointed and will definitely not be coming back.
