A consortium of Brewers got together and decided to open their own brewery. It's a story book tale that actually worked. At Big Ash Brewing is all about the beer. They have a beer "Vending Area" area. You get a cash card then you pick and dispense your beer of choice. It's a great concept. Since I'm as newbie, I tried a small sample of several to find my favorite out of about 30 in-house brews. Then I got a full glass and sat down to some local entertainment. Tonight's band was "Twice Is Nice". A couple of talented guys who can sing pretty good, playing the music of Tom Petty, James Taylor & Elton John and a few of their own. After a few beers, We ordered food from the other "Vending Area". "Plan your own pizza" Sauce, cheese, toppings. Pick it up at the window when your buzzards goes off. The pizza was just "Ok". The giant pretzel was tasty. All said, the home brewed beer and the entertainment made this a great experience.

Service, owner , staff, trivia setup (Wednesdays) and the ambiance was a good time. Load your card up and swipe away (you connect it with your credit card to pay ). It was a great time for date night, and it wasn't disappointing since I've been trying to go for 2 years and was worth the wait. I didn't eat but, that's more of a reason to return. Then I got to personalize my bourbon based on a 12 question survey. Don't be late to the party like I was.

7" controversy pizza... Because pineapples DO belong on pizza, and anyone who says no is WRONG!

This is yet another quintessential "been wanting to try it for a while" spots. Hey! With so much around the greater Cincinnati area, it's hard to check out all of that list, but my lady and I finally stopped by here, and we're absolutely glad we did so. Excellent beer, tasty pizza, and a very laid back atmosphere. What's not to like there? We stopped by on a Friday evening. The place was pretty busy but we were still able to find seating. We sat nearby where the brewing magic happens because I was curious to see it all. One of the very friendly employees told us all about the place since it was our first time. She set us up with a card to get all our drinks and food and showed us how to get it all. We started with a couple brews, my lady got the Symphony Vienna lager and I got the Pay Joe pilsner. Both were excellent and the card-based self-serve tap wall is super easy to use. Then, we placed an order for two 7" pizzas, with my lady opting for the caprese and I opted for the controversy (Yes, I believe pineapples belong on pizza! Deal wit it! ). Of course, we went back for another round, with my lady getting Woody's Wheat and me getting Paddle Boat IPA. It wasn't long at all before our pizzas were ready. We really enjoyed both of them and I liked that the crust was thicker but not super thick a la Chicago style. After we enjoyed every bite, we had another round of brews, with my lady getting the Spekilious Cookie ale and me getting the Life is Too Schwarz schwarbier. The cookie ale was a touch too sweet for my taste but the schwarzbier was very solid. We did split one more out of curiosity, the Spicy Chocolate, and though we didn't taste any spiciness, it was still pretty good and chocolaty. Big Ash is a great place for beer geek and non-beer geek alike. Not a beer fan? They also have wine, spirits, craft cocktails, and non-alcoholic options. They also have big screen TVs if you wanna watch a big game. Feeling like a board game? They have lots of those too. They even have live music scheduled regularly. Why not drop by for the Monday through Friday happy hour from 4-6pm? Want some merch or to-go brews before you leave? They have lots of those too. I already know my lady and I will be going back again for more.

Big Ash is in a great location and has tons of outdoor space, including a patio and a parking lot space for live music. A wide variety of beers, and a self serve model allow you to pour whatever size beer you want, which is nice. The beers are fine- nothing I really didn't like, but nothing that really blew me away either. The food options are also fine. Pretzel with beer cheese is decent. Pizzas are good. More expensive than other similar offerings. My 3 star here is because of the value. Everything here is a little more expensive than I would expect. Everything is also self serve, yet they tack on a 20% gratuity if you 'express checkout' - after you need to give them a credit card upfront to serve yourself anything. I also had a problem where one of the taps 'blew' after pouring just a few ounces, leaving me with a $2.00 foamy mess of the end of a keep that I still had to pay for. I would go back if friends wanted to meet there or if there was a band I wanted to see, but I don't think I'd suggest this place.

There was a bit of a learning curve for the pour-your-own beer and order your-own-food thing but the staff were friendly and helpful even close to closing time. As an introvert I loved it bc I could be left alone! And, I am newly gluten intolerant so I was super excited about the cauliflower crust but the upcharge was painful ($5). When I got my food my pizza was soggy in the center which was not fun but the toppings and crunchy parts were good. There was a lot to like about Big Ash (parking, outdoor space, games) but with the order-your-own food method I didn't know who to complain to...

We were invited to a business meeting at Big Ash Brewing. I found it a bit on the pricey side - especially for a serve yourself setup. I appreciated the selection, and I certainly enjoyed the food. They have a huge setup, and the football game was on, so that was a plus as well. I am a little concerned for the location - I see there is development around them, so hopefully they are in the right place for the are to grow around them, but our group were the only customers, and the kitchen was feeling the pain. Times were longer than I would have imagined, and one guy was working his buns off, while the other two chatted about how hot it was. I didn't see any leadership the whole time we were there - and if I did see them, it wasn't obvious they were in a supervisory status. But, the beer was cold, the selection was good, and the food was decent. Not sure I'd make my way back on my own, but if I happened to be part of a group wanting to go, I wouldn't fight it.

They operate by using self service with a charge card you use every time you help yourself to one of the 20 + beers and wine. No table service so you can move at your own pace. So far the Schooner IPA and orange creamsicle are pretty good.

An awesome place to go to! The drinks are all on tap and you can pour them yourselves. I went to a private event here for a rehearsal dinner and we were given cards to swipe up to $20 and full catering. I went another time and ordered a vegan pizza to have with beer (photo attached) and it was delicious! There is live music here which can be pretty noisy but there are quieter places to move around to.

Lotsa wine and beer on tap. Everyone in your party will get something they like. And only as much as they want to pay for.

Best brew pub in city!!! As an Elite Yelper for many years I have made sure to hit nearly all the brew pubs on a regular basis. Beer lovers will love this one as it is hands down the best. The only SELF SERVE BEER AND WINE TAPS I know of, just grab your debit card and serve yourself! Spend the 20% tip money on a pizza! Love it! What innovation! And they aren't just serving their own beers they have the best of the best local breweries represented on the tap line. Why go anywhere else? Where else can you pour yourself as many samples as you want? The price is per ounce so sample as little or as much as you want. What a great concept. Larger menus can be found elsewhere but the salads, pizzas and Servatii's pretzels are all excellent and this is better pizza than any other brew pub within 20 miles...what else do you need? The outdoor seating is perfect for a date night but the long tables make this the ULTIMATE Monday Night Football spot for your neighborhood. They could handle a business group of any size. I HOPE our neighborhood fantasy league hits this place soon! You have got to try this place.

Stopped in for a beer or two and lived the place. Service was friendly and the environment was perfect. Definitely will be back on my next trip.

Beer is fine. Pizza is about a 3/10. Not great. Much better places nearby. Wish they would invest in their pizza even just a little bit.

My family and I arrived in Covington around 9pm and dining options are slim to none in the nearby…read morearea after 9:30, so we chose Molly Malone's because it was open late and we wouldn't be holding anyone up. We got there at around 9:10 and were first offered a seat inside but it was so loud in there the hostess couldn't hear what we were saying and vice versa, so we got a spot on the patio. Our sever was very nice, but service was VERY slow for a Sunday night. She told us they were busy the night before because of a conference and they were still in town that day, so the bar inside was busy. After ordering our drinks it took about 15 minutes to get them, and she didn't even take our food order when she came back despite us being ready. We waited, no problem. We ordered a 'Spice Bag' and it was decent but took about 25 minutes to get to us despite being potatoes and onions in a bag. For 40 minutes we waited for our food and when it came out it was terrible. I ordered the Fish and Chips and Caesar Salad to share and both were mediocre at best and inedible at worst. If you come here: DO NOT GET THE FISH AND CHIPS. They were battered nicely, but aside from that the fish didn't feel fully cooked and tasted like nothing, with a hint of dirty water. The tartar sauce seemed homemade, but didn't have any flavour. The coleslaw was boring and watery, with no flavour. Our server never checked up on us during the meal, so I never got the chance to ask for something else, so I was just stuck with the fries it came with. I know what good fish and chips should taste like and it's not that. Others ordered the curry and the wings and seemed to enjoy it, which is nice. However, 30 minutes after placing our order we were told that the kitchen "ran out of rice" and they asked us what we would like to replace it. When the curry came out, it was missing the naan but again, server never came to check on us so we didn't notice until the end of our meal. Overall, it's a cute place that feels Irish, but service is slow and food is terrible. Our server was lovely and it wasn't her fault that she was busy with tables, but management should be doing more when they know there's a conference in town to set their servers up for success.
