Great local taco spot! Communal tables at an outdoor taqueria. We split a 4 taco plate. 2 fish and 2 al pastor with a pina colada and margarita. All were excellent. Service by Paola (sp) was exceptional. Prices were very reasonable for a resort area. Almost worthy of 5 stars, definitely recommend!

    Local cats :) looking hungry

We ordered two servings of fish tacos and a beer, but the experience was a complete disappointment. I watched the cook defrosting fish in a microwave, hoping it wasn't for us--unfortunately, it was. The tacos were bland, filled with rice, and completely lacking avocado or guacamole. The fish itself was so unappetizing that we ended up feeding it to the local cats. Disappointed

Hell yeah. We needed an easygoing taco fix while on a short trip in Cancun. We didn't want something complicated, required a reservation, or had drawn out table service. We wanted tacos...and beer. And that's exactly what Don's delivers. It's a bit of a road side spot with only bar-like seating for smaller groups. There's one guy behind the grill and another to take your order. No cocktails, but they have shots of booze, plus beer and non-alcoholic drinks. We ordered two taco plates (about $10 USD each) which were large in portion. The best part was the assortment of hot sauces to try, which came in bottles rating their 'heat' and we had to try 'em all. If you just need tacos without all the extra, come here.

1st place in my 5 days in cancun mx who's food I'm happy with. Mind u I'm staying at an all-inclusive resort who's food I don't like. I will definitely be back.

The food was awesome. Just what you would expect from a taco stand. There were three vegetarians in our group and we had lots of options. My husband ordered the fries and they were HUGE! The ambiance is fun with music set just to the right volume. Our server was attentive to our needs and was prompt. We didn't feel rushed to leave which was great because we had some time to kill waiting for our hotel room.

Went here for lunch and was very pleased with the experience. I wanted some authentic tacos and they delivered. I got the shrimp and Al pastor tacos. Both were good but the shrimp was my fave! The margaritas didn't disappoint either. They were good and they didn't skimp on the tequila. Very affordable too, party of 2 and spent less than $70USD including 4 margaritas. Might have to make another visit before the end of our trip!

Best casual food I had in Cancun. Everything, Cochinita pibil, fish tacos, al pastor, were tasty and cheap.

This place is right across the street from the resorts on the Hotel Zone, and is tucked by a pharmacy, but you MUST eat here if you are staying in Cancun. It's an affordable taco and burrito bar, and let me tell you I was craving some authentic Mexican food as a break from the resort food and so glad we found this place. Music was great, our waiter Ulysses was so friendly and helpful, food was outstanding. Lots of drink choices, and customizable food. The location is all outdoors with a nice breeze and the whole area is shaded which was very nice in the summertime. They also have great T-shirt's for sale if you want to buy, their logo is great. 10/10 would come again and will recommend to a

10/5!!! Went to this restaurant after driving by it after an excursion and it was the best food my husband and I had our whole trip. We got Al Pastor, Arrachera (steak), Coconut Shrimp, and Cochinita Pibil (shredded pork) tacos. The coconut shrimp and cochinita pibil were amazing. They had so much flavor. They also have an assortment of salsas for you to try with your tacos. Our favorite was the Tamarindo Chipotle salsa. The staff are extremely nice and will give you good recommendations. If you're in the area, this is the best place to get food!

Don's This place is a bit of a hole in the wall. Originally when we looked this place up it was called Blue Gecko Cantina but I believe they changed owners. To start, we nearly missed this restaurant. We took the bus and saw a giant club blaring music. Besides the club is a brown hut which is the restaurant. There is only front outdoor seating that is under the hut and plenty of tables that are raised to bar level. Since we had a big party at arrived around 7:45 pm the place was nearly empty. But when we left (about 1.5 hours later) the place was packed and there was a line! I'm very glad we found this place to get a taste of authentic Mexican food and escape the places that cater to tourists. Food quality and portions: We were in a large group but I'll be reviewing the food I had and the food shared amongst the group. For appetizers we had the grande pollo nachos. These were quite delicious and filling. They were scarfed very fast between 5 people. I ordered the half chicken quesadilla and shrimp tacos (3 tacos). The half quesadilla was much bigger than I thought that I asked if it was the whole! It was 4 pieces, filling, and everything you'd hope a quesadilla would like. The shrimp tacos were also very a must try. On the tacos they put a chipotle sauce. (BE CAUTIOUS! The sauce has peanut sauce and they did not tell us so a member in our group had an allergic reaction to their tacos.) Very simple ingredients but very tasty. This meal had me very full but very satisfied. Long story short: Pollo nachos, half chicken quesadillas, and shrimp tacos were great Drinks: I ordered a pina colada. They came in tin cups and were very cold and tasty. I definitely recommend if you're looking for something refreshing. Overall: Great restaurant, service and environment. Our server Alberto was very kind and accommodating. The murals on the wall were very cute too. This is a must if you're looking for inexpensive and authentic food.

We wanted some authentic food. We did a 10 min walk down the strip and found this gem. Juan was an amazing server and so was the food. If you are looking for Mexican I highly recommend!

    Margaritas

Dons tacos is a must stop in the Cancun area! Found this small, hidden gem while searching for nearby authentic Mexican food as the all inclusive resort I was staying at didn't give me the fix I was looking for. It was so good that we even went back the very next day for lunch again. Prices are very cheap and the margaritas are amazing. Wait staff were all very friendly and happy to talk. I will say I will definitely be visiting dons any chance I am in the Cancun area in the future.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. This place is a 10/10 in my book. I honestly hope they expand to more locations and eventually come to the USA. This place would be a hit in New York. I loved the tiki bar esthetic lots of palms and reeds. Great music and they were playing the Knicks game when we arrived. Really an awesome place. Probably great for grab and go as well. I was there with my wife and kids but I could really see how this place is great for a date or quick bite with friends. I was staying at a hotel next door, WAITING to try this place. I came before it opened was told to come back at at 8. I had an excursion booked and was waiting on my shuttle at my hotel, I asked the blonde bartender how long it would be for 2 burritos, she assured me 5-10 minutes. She said she UNDERSTOOD I couldn't missed my shuttle for my trip and it would be fast!! By 8:30, my shuttle had arrived and I had to leave. I told the bartender I can't wait any longer and had to leave, she asked would I be coming back tonight after my excursion. I told her I would. When I came back at almost 9pm, I had to go back and forth with the manager about what happened. He said he understood about catching the shuttle and he had to make a call to his boss. After 45minutes of waiting and going back and forth, he said his boss checked the camera and I left even after waiting half an hour for 2 burritos, so I get no refund and no burritos!! I SHOWED HIM SCREEN SHOTS OF MY RECEIPT WITH THE TIME I was charged and the time I had to leave!!AND HE ACCUSED ME OF LYING SAYING I SHOULD'VE WAITED LONGER than half an hour, so he wouldn't help, just argue with me about why I left? I came back later that night thinking they would give me a burrito that I paid for!!! To go back and work and argue over something so frivolous, after THEIR EMPLOYEES misinformed me of the time it would take!!! If the PERSON YOU HAVE AT THE FRONT IS TELLING PEOPLE IT CAN BE MADE IN 5-10 minutes THATS WHAT SHOULD BE IMPLEMENTED!!! They took my money and REFUSED THE COMPENSATE!! Then the manger accused me of lying - disgusting business and unprofessional management. Took my money and my food. Trash business. Unprofessional service. While we were arguing, other people weee complaining about their service too. If you're a tourist, DONT COME HERE!

Unfortunately, the experience went downhill quickly. The service was flashy but slow, and we followed the waiter's recommendations for both an appetizer and our entrees. He told my girlfriend her entrée didn't come with a side, so we ordered one. After several cocktails, her entrée arrived--but mine never did. I sat there watching her eat while I waited. When I asked the waiter where my meal was, he simply said, "it is not working." I then asked a manager for help, but he disappeared and never returned. The bill came with no apology, no explanation, no discount, and nothing complimentary. It was an awkward and uncomfortable way to end what was supposed to be a special evening. Mistakes happen, but what really bothered me was that there was no effort to acknowledge the problem or make it right. I do not recommend. Me quedé sentado viéndola comer mientras yo esperaba.

I dream of Marrow everyday. This is a 10/10 Yellow fin Tosatadas - Superb!!! One of the best tostadas I have ever had. The microgreens, the sauce and the square Tostada works well all together. 8.8/10 Salmon - Cooked perfectly. The corn is a great accompaniment. The fish is impeccably seasoned. This dish is heaven sent with a 9.8/10 Grilled Octopus - Grilled perfectly, I can tell by the texture. The mash is superb, they used margarine instead of butter and I absolutely love the contrast from the traditional mash. 9.8/10 Mexican Rice - Its pretty good. It does have a nice seafoodish finish. The pepper was actually spicy. Nice and pleasant rice dish. 8/10 Charred Avocado Salad - Grilled avocado is a bit of a wash. It did make it look good on the plate. The dressing is a little weak.
