Drove down from Logan to try and buy a car. Wanted to make a cash sale with no trade in and was told they would even come down a dime on the vehicle we were interested in. Look up the same vehicle on Kelley Blue Book and they are $1,300 over the high book retail number for this used car. Lady tried to tell us they paid the middle number of the retail value and it was worth thousands more than their selling price. Love it when people try to convince the buyer that they are not making any money on a sale. Must be free to have those kinds of facilities if that was the case. read more

I stopped by the service department for an estimate of repairs needed to stop an oil leak from the engine area of a Toyota. I left the vehicle for hour to be evaluated. When I returned, the recommended actions were replace oil pan gasket, replace rear main seal, and replace rear cam seal cap. Total cost $1646. I said no thanks and immediately drove over to a small competitor, Sundown Garage. The Sundown owner crawled under vehicle and said there was no sign the gasket and seal joints had been wiped off with a rag at Don Wood's, which is a necessary step in any search for leaks. Sundown later determined the leak was from a loose oil filter, which simply needed to be hand-tightened. read more

Horrible experience so I cannot give any positive feedback for Don Wood Toyota's parts department. Buy your Toyota parts elsewhere. My 18 year old son purchased a replacement seat belt for his First car (Toyota Tacoma) he purchase a couple months ago from his uncle. The seat belt needs to be replaced as it's frayed in spots so our sone does an internet search for the part and finds Don Woods website offering the best price on the part he seeks. He does some research, identifies the part needed and places the order which cost him approx $160. Some back and forth e-mails from Don wood Toyota parts department and my son transpire to verify the VIN of the truck. My son not only originally ordered the correct part but sent the correct VIN with his initial response to the inquiry. The parts department requested another verification and my son made a minor typo changing a digit from "2" to a "3". We receive the part and it's the wrong part for our needs. After several calls asking the parts department to allow us to return the part with us even volunteering to pay a restocking fee and re-ordering the correct part from them.......we get the proverbial "go pound sand" response from both the clerk who originally took the order and the manager of the parts department. Completely unwilling to compromise or work towards a resolution that works for both parties. Very disappointed. read more

Rick and Carl always go above and beyond to get the customer taken care of. I have a lease on a Highlander a recall comes in the mail. I contact Don Woods in Athens who has done all the service on the vehicle. I take the car to the service to have the recall and oil change they tell me when they call 2hrs I get there they tell me I added the service call and it would be 3 to 3 1/2 hours. They were told I needed the service when the appointment was made. So I ask if they had a loaner car I could use they said no! Then they ask if I got the car there they might have one. The recall is not my fault I live 40 minutes away. So they said we will get it in right away and get it done as fast as they could. They pull it in the garage and park it I walked around out side for thirty min and it was not touched. I take the car and leave. Very poor attitude at the service desk. I saw only 3 employees in the garage one washing a new vehicle one running around drinking something and one not doing much on the car beside mine. They lost my new lease opportunity and hope fully every one who reads this! read more
