This is one of the hidden gems of Rowan county NC. If you want a good meal and to be around great people stop in and get a bite to eat.

On our visit on Thursday, the worst part of the meal was our service. The waitress was unfriendly, almost to the point of being rude. She sat my husband's plate down and it had a hair on it. He told her and she grabbed the plate and held it up in the light to try to see the hair, as if she did not believe it was there. It was. Then she just took it to the kitchen without even speaking to us. She never refilled our drinks. She was never nice about the hair in the food or about our drinks being completely empty. We finally stopped another waitress who brought tea and water to our table. The chips used to be good. They used to serve pico with the chips. Now, they charge for the pico and they have changed to a cheaper chip. They are thick and not good. They are not even served warm. We will not be giving this restaurant any more of our money. The rude waitress needs to find a job she feels is worthy of her time, because she obviously things she is above waiting tables. The man who acts as the manager fawns over some customers who come in, but completely ignores all of the rest of the customers. No onoe comes by and checks on the tables. No one cleans up the debris dropped in the floor around the tables. This is the worst Mexican restaurant in the area.

We weren't expecting much when we pulled into this little Mexican restaurant in a small town, but…read moresometimes the best places are the ones you almost drive past. This place turned out to be a true hidden gem. The food was fantastic, the drinks were just right (possibly a little too good), and the atmosphere had that warm, relaxed vibe that makes you want to sit, talk, and order "just one more" round. Everything we tried was full of flavor and clearly made with care. By the end of the meal we were full, happy, and already talking about what we'd order next time. If you find yourself nearby, do yourself a favor and stop in. Just be warned... you may leave planning your next visit before you even get to the parking lot.

You can tell I love Mexican food! So today we stopped at Queso Salsa for dinner. The restaurant was…read moreclean and we were seated very quickly. I got the tropical burrito, and my guy got the birria burrito with beef . My burrito was huge it had bell peppers, rice, chicken, shrimp, chorizo and pineapple, with a cheese sauce over the burrito. In the end it was a little sweeter than I liked. The bell peppers could have been chopped smaller as well. The birria burrito was good and savory. They give you chips and salsa however, the salsa was low on seasoning and we had to add salt and a little hot sauce to bring out the flavor. I also ordered the sangria margarita which was delicious. There is sitting available outside with a great view of the train museum .The menu is a bit overwhelming. Service was just okay as there was a language barrier with the waiter. Not really sure if I would go back. It was just okay for me.
