We just moved to the area and Chris Donahue was recommended to us for a clog...He was not only VERY knowledgeable and had the most up to date equipment, he actually did more than he could have done to help us with the least expensive solution! After attempting to "snake" our clog 3 times, unsuccessfully, he talked to me about the possibility that we would have to dig up the septic to have it pumped....He had wrapped up the snake and camera and was ready to load it back into his truck and said, "You know, I just think we should try it one more time...." Lo and behold - he got through the clog (a very old rubber gardening glove???) and had the system working again...I just really appreciated the fact that he was not "lazy" in his approach - he was definitely on OUR side - not the side that would have brought him the most money but the side that helped us out tremendously with the least fuss, time and expense..... About a year ago I called Donahue Plumbing to look at a leaky faucet hose in our sink. He came out and ordered the part for us and informed us that since we were the original orders there would be no charge. He then instructed me how I would install it when it arrived. I recently gave Donahue Plumbing a call to give us a quote for a water softener and a reverse osmosis system. Other companies that I brought out tried to up-sell me into things I didn't need, but Donahue Plumbing gave me a good quote and only offered what I needed. Chris came out and did both the installs for me. He came on time and called when he was on his way. He answered all my questions and even did some things the other services did not. For example he installed the salt tank in the garage and gave me the option to have the reverse osmosis system in my basement instead of under the sink. Donahue plumbing ,formerly 'Cheap-o-Rooter' is the best plumbing value in the valley. I first encountered them on Thanksgiving Day 1997,when the original owner gave up his meal to come and help us with a major clog! When I needed their service a few years later, we discovered that Chris Donahue had taken it over and was even better ,if that was even possible! Their dedication to clean and thorough service and attention to detail is impeccable,and never a mess left behind! It's as if I had raised him myself to my own standards! I live in a house built in the 1950's whose plumbing by now is beset with various problems mainly due to age. Before I found Donahue I'd used plumbers who did mediocre jobs and even damaged parts of my system without even saying anything to me. I was having a few plumbing issues at my house. I am a single woman and always very cautious of service men I let into my home.I searched for a few days and a friend of mine told me about Cheap-O-Rooter. I called them and they were able to send somebody out that same day. The technician that came out was very respectful and knowledgeable. I felt very comfortable with him in my home. If i were to say all the little things these guys did on my big project, it would take paragraphs. It was amazing, careful, well done, and far below budget. One shower was done from scratch requiring even jack hammering. The other was done to repair a prior contractors work. WHAT A SERVICE! Came out within a few hours of my call to fix a botched DIY softener install. He was quick, professional, and friendly, I felt very comfortable having him in my home. Unlike another "big name" plumber I've used, he didn't try to sell me on additional services, but did go the extra mile in explaining the most efficient way to use our new softener and showing me how to program it. True to the 5 stars service given by previous customers, Chris was quick, professional, courteous and an expert at what he does. He was able to figure out the problem right away. I can only echo all the other great reviews Chris has gotten. He knows his business, explains everything clearly, and delivers exactly with what he says and then some. He even does extra things he sees that are needed without charging. I normally do most home repairs myself, but I didn't dare proceed further with a severely stuck shower cartridge.
