I had two teeth that needed to be extracted and I was recommended by our dentist to NorthWest oral in Acworth. When I called in horrible pain due to a tooth infection, they got me right in that day at their Dallas location. I saw doctor Dicky and he calmed my nerves a bit. Very down to earth and a very nice guy. He informed me that one of the teeth in question was angry causing nerve pain and needed to come out sooner then later. He explained the entire process to me and was able to get me in the next morning at the Marietta office. Due to health concerns and current medications I'm on, I was very uneasy about IV sedation. The staff at Marietta was nothing short of amazing. I had 2 surgery techs that were so nice and patient with me. The nurse was also very nice and the whole experience went very smoothly. I had concerns about pain afterwards due to PTSD from my wisdom teeth. I felt heard and well educated on what to expect. My husband was my ride and we had our 4 year old son with us. They were very patient with us and understanding that he was my husbands wingman for the day. They even let my son pick a prize in the prize box which he was static about. Overall I am very happy with how smoothly everything went. I will say even the billing and payment was explained well and I felt like there was no surprises. I have a few more procedures that will need to be done in the future and will definitely be using Dr. Dicky again.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I believe patients deserve transparency when it comes to…read morehealthcare experiences. I underwent treatment at this practice that included a root canal and crown placement. After the procedure, I continued experiencing ongoing tenderness and discomfort around the tooth and outer gum area. During a follow-up visit on 3/18, my concerns were acknowledged, but I was advised to "wait it out" because healing could take up to six months or longer. Unfortunately, my symptoms continued to worsen. I ultimately sought a second opinion from another dentist with over 25 years of experience, including updated X-rays and examination findings. I was informed that the crown was not seated properly against the tooth margins, leaving space where food was becoming trapped around the crown. This explained the persistent irritation and discomfort I had repeatedly expressed concerns about. What made the experience even more concerning was that after attempting to advocate for myself regarding the ongoing pain, incomplete billing concerns, and unresolved treatment issues, I was ultimately dismissed from the practice rather than provided with a meaningful resolution plan. As a result, I am now in the position of having to pay a second provider to correct work that was never properly completed the first time. Patients trust dental professionals not only to perform procedures correctly, but also to take patient concerns seriously when something does not feel right during recovery. In my experience, that trust was not honored here. I strongly encourage future patients to seek second opinions if persistent pain or gum irritation is dismissed as "normal healing," especially after major dental work.

In fact, it's a very much family like atmosphere in a super doper modern office. I've been to other modern dental offices. OK comparing with the office of MY dentist. Always helpful, never judgemental with great respect to patient's choices and needs. I moved to another country for a couple of years, came back and bought a new house very very far from Austell. My attempts of trying to find a dental office in Decatur and surrounding areas resulted in total frustration, mistreatment and huge overcharge. Not only for services provided but the ones not provided. Let the Dental Board of Georgia deal with it. i called Dr. Carroll's office. Only one person is there since good old times, others (not many, just an administrator and the hygienist, retired). I was greeted and treated by new stuff as if they knew me all these years. I immediately felt at home. And the issue which at Aspen dental and three more dental offices nobody wanted to deal was, MY dentist, Dr. Carroll, fixed in no time. The issue was at the beginning a loose tooth on a denture based on implants, then the tooth fell out. Oh, yeah, I was accepted by those so called dental offices and their "professionals" could not even identify what was wrong with the tooth (until it fell out:), but charged me big time (insurance has its limits, you know). Just now wrote a $266 to the Aspen Dental... for nothing. Anyway, my tooth is back in! Which is wow. My insurance, tadadadam was charged just $120. I talked with Dr. Carroll about a new denture, mentioned that I can have one done in a different country for a very reasonable price. Let me share the reaction of Dr. Carroll, he said "Go for it". It was me who started complaining about "what ifs" ( the denture with lost tooth was completed in that country). You know what Dr. Carroll said?! Not to worry, just ask the foreign dentist to provide all the information on materials they were to use. Can you believe THAT?! I heard from many American dentist very nasty comments about the dentists from other countries. Not here. High professionalism, total support of the patient. The best, really the very best esthetic dentist ever! Dr. Carroll, I love you, I appreciate you, I have the greatest respect to you. And the way you train your administration team! Please be healthy, please be happy, please, please, please do not ever retire!

I would not recommend this office due to serious concerns with billing transparency and…read morecommunication. Prior to the procedure, we specifically asked for confirmation of the final out-of-pocket cost and were verbally assured that the quoted amount would be final. Based on that assurance, we proceeded and paid $2,881.13 in full. After the procedure, we received an additional bill of $293.79. According to the Explanation of Benefits (EOB), the difference from the original estimate appears to be approximately $178, yet the office billed a higher amount without providing a clear explanation. We were not informed that the insurance annual maximum could be reached, which would increase our financial responsibility. Had we been properly informed, we would have considered other options. Attempts to resolve the issue were unsuccessful. We were redirected between departments, repeatedly asked to call instead of communicating in writing, and ultimately told that no further communication would be provided. This experience reflects a lack of transparency and poor communication. Patients should be fully informed about potential costs before agreeing to treatment. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this office.

All in all, a very good place…read more The office is in its own building at the edge of a shopping outlet. Plenty of parking. Pleasant waiting room, including a basket with children's books (important because you'll need a driver for your surgery, and your driver may have a child, especially if your driver is your spouse and you can't find childcare!). The office has its own wifi. All procedures were handled professionally and easily. Staff were mostly friendly. No one was cold, but some were definitely in efficiency mode. They'll almost certainly have you get an expensive CT scan, but they use it well, so it seems worth it if you wish to proceed. I looked into four different offices for my procedure, which was very complicated. I ended up with this one because Dr. Schaner is a downright expert. I had one surgeon flat out tell me he wouldn't touch my issue (which I respected), but Dr. Schaner was realistic about options and what needed to be done. He and his staff were patient with me throughout the surgery. They're not cheap; no dental work is. However, it seems like they are very much worth the money; you're getting very high quality care. One suggestion: listen fast, or bring a voice recorder. My consultation and meetings were good, but they were fast. The post-surgery debrief was fast; I was obviously out (they will probably put you under for your procedure), so they debriefed my driver, but they went fast, and she didn't catch it all. I wish I'd thought to have him record it so I could listen later. Professional care. Excellent quality. Gracious staff. Higher price, but you get what you pay for. At the very least, worth a try. Recommended.

I was able to use my insurance as well so my actual out of pocket was just over $100. While at Kennesaw Mountain they told me I needed two crowns for the two root canals I had done at the Endo. The Endo recommended a crown and a filling, (one tooth was cracked), Kennesaw Mountain Dental Associates told me I actually needed two crowns to the tune of almost $3,000. Come to find out I didn't actually need two crowns. The recommendation from the Endo was correct, all I needed was a crown and a filling this is after both dentists at my new dentist looked at the root canals done by my Endo. So in addition to being rude and lazy, they are also trying to over charge by pushing unnecessary dental procedures. Be very careful if you visit Kennesaw Mountain Dental Associates. Make sure you reach out to your insurer prior to your visit and check your coverage or they may try what they tried with me and tell you that you don't have coverage. Also if they recommend a procedure don't hesitate to hit pause, take few days and get a second opinion. It could save you thousands of dollars.
