I rarely leave negative reviews, but I believe patients deserve transparency when it comes to healthcare experiences. I underwent treatment at this practice that included a root canal and crown placement. After the procedure, I continued experiencing ongoing tenderness and discomfort around the tooth and outer gum area. During a follow-up visit on 3/18, my concerns were acknowledged, but I was advised to "wait it out" because healing could take up to six months or longer. Unfortunately, my symptoms continued to worsen. I ultimately sought a second opinion from another dentist with over 25 years of experience, including updated X-rays and examination findings. I was informed that the crown was not seated properly against the tooth margins, leaving space where food was becoming trapped around the crown. This explained the persistent irritation and discomfort I had repeatedly expressed concerns about. What made the experience even more concerning was that after attempting to advocate for myself regarding the ongoing pain, incomplete billing concerns, and unresolved treatment issues, I was ultimately dismissed from the practice rather than provided with a meaningful resolution plan. As a result, I am now in the position of having to pay a second provider to correct work that was never properly completed the first time. Patients trust dental professionals not only to perform procedures correctly, but also to take patient concerns seriously when something does not feel right during recovery. In my experience, that trust was not honored here. Aspen Dental 2.0 I came in for the $59 promotional offer that included a cleaning and X-rays. As soon as I saw the dentist, I was hit with a list of issues including a diagnosis of early gum disease, and was recommended a deep cleaning along with several other treatments. I declined and asked if I could waive the additional services and just get the standard cleaning I originally came in for. What raised a red flag for me is that I've consistently seen the same dentist multiple times over the past few years, not jumping around, but returning to a provider I trusted. My last visit was only six months ago, and every time, I was told things looked fine overall, aside from a reminder to floss a bit better. Before that, I also had a cleaning abroad after a long break from dental care, and even then, nothing alarming came up. So it was surprising to hear that in just six months, my teeth supposedly now require a deep cleaning and additional procedures. It really felt like the promotional pricing was being used as a tactic to upsell treatments I wasn't expecting and hadn't previously needed. I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to anything here. read more

I would strongly urge you to get a second opinion if this practice says you need a lot of expensive work done. Please see the other comments if you doubt me. My family and I have always gone to the dentist on a regular basis and have not had any major issues. My son lost a filling and we did have issues with his previous dentist who said they couldn't get him in to fix it for a while, so on someone's recommendation we came here. They told me he not only did he need that one but he needed a filling in the tooth next to it also, but they were both going to need major work that was going to cost me almost $1,000 out of pocket on top of insurance coverage. The other tooth didn't look like it had any problems but , unfortunately I trusted them. We had that work done and I paid for it. There was a question about how much insurance was going to cover on one item, so of course they said that I should go ahead and pay and they would refund ANYTHING the insurance paid over their estimate. The dentist the rest of the family had always gone to had sold his practice, so next my wife and I came here. We both had check ups and as someone else said, they just started listing off major work that both of us needed. I think they said my wife needed four crowns, that she needed much more than a normal cleaning, in fact, we would have to come back multiple times a year for expensive cleanings that insurance wouldn't cover. In total, it was literally going to cost us tens of thousands out of pocket. I was floored. I said we would have to think about it. I also knew that the insurance had paid them more than their estimate on the work they did on my son, so I asked about crediting that to any future work. They tried to tell me there was other work they had done on him that wasn't covered, so I pulled up the EOB and they said they would have to investigate it. So, we went to another dentist to get them to look us over. They only agreed with one of the items that they had listed off. They said my wife didn't need even one deep cleaning and definitely not multiple per year. Besides that their price for one implant was about half of what this place quoted. I could not believe a place would try to do this! I was just going to let it die and just not go back to them but they kept leaving messages about scheduling ALL of my wife's work she needed done and her first expensive cleaning. I called them back and told them to take my whole family out of their system and stop calling us, I even made sure and told them to take both of my sons out of their system. I still kept getting e-mails until I called again. You would think that was enough, but here's where they added insult to injury. They called my older son directly and told him it was time for his appointment. He's pretty independent and was going back and forth to college at that point, so he just went. Guess what, he needed two fillings, and not just normal fillings but major work that cost me almost another $1,000 and he went ahead and had it done and I got the bill. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE, GET A SECOND OPINION. I don't see other reviews like this here, but go look at Google Map reviews and you'll see similar examples. read more

While the dentist was very nice. They wanted way too much money for services. Almost $2,000.00 for my husband's two cavities. The dentist told me i had a cracked tooth, two cavities and both my silver fillings needed to be replaced. They wanted THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS$$$. I decided to get a second opinion from a different dentist office and thank god i did. Turns out i don't have a cracked tooth and i don't have any cavities, only work i really need done is a silver filling can be replaced. I feel lied to! Also the front desk management is terrible. I went to a subpar dentist (check yelp review), which lead to major issues with my teeth, ie teeth shifting, infection below gum line, bad fill in work. This begins my story with West Cobb Dentist. I came in to get a deep cleaning, before getting braces, to address issue with shifting teeth. This is when we uncovered the major issues from previous dental work. To be succinct, I needed to get 7 crowns, 2 fillings and a tooth extracted. One requisite, all this work needed to be accomplished in one week, so I would be ready for my ortho appointment. Dr. Houston was thorough in her assessment of what was needed and what we could safely wait on addressing. Dr. Houston with her assistant, Trina, took on the challenge and got it done! My oral health and comfort/pain level was her utmost concern. The 4 days of intense dental work were a breeze, Dr. Houston and Trina made sure of it - whether it was a warm blanket (pretty cold in the office) or extra numbing. Dr. Houston is now my forever dentist.!! I would be remiss, if I didn't mention the front desk staff - Toya (office manager) and Margaret. Very pleasant ladies! Dr. Aguilera would only do work that she suggested and not what I asked for or could afford. Pushed hard for implants when I told her I couldn't afford them but still wanted to do and charge me for prep work (bone grafts) for implants. They're nice when you walk in but once I started asking questions staff quickly changed their attitudes. I would not recommend this practice! read more

Went to this dentist office because they accepted my insurance (previous dental office stop taking it) and was close to the house. The office was very nice, clean and front desk staff was welcoming. I was called to the back, first stop taking my X-rays (waited a while for X-ray tech) not done by the Dental hygienist. I was then taken to the room where I thought I was going to get a cleaning by the dental hygienist, nope! No dental hygienist was ever introduced, instead the Dentist herself comes in and starts asking me questions about my health and family heath, she looks in my mouth, starts calling out number while poking my gums to see if I had issues. She then goes to tell me; I will need to get a deep cleaning that cost almost $600 (hey what about the preventative cleaning covered my insurance), because I have Periodontal disease (wait, What!). I go to the dentist every 6 months like I'm supposed to and have never had any periodontal issues. I'm sitting here confused! Next the receptionist walks in to give me my outrages, costly treatment, telling me I should be some salvia panel to determine what type bacteria is in my mouth for $199, and some other expensive BS. I left there with no cleaning after all that, I was scheduled to come back for my first deep cleaning ($600) appointment in two weeks to do half of my mouth and needed another appointment to do the other half in a week (SMH). I felt very perplexed. I went ahead and contacted my previous dentist office, who I had been going to for the past 5 years (My insurance is out of network for them, but was willing to pay the fee), got an appointment 2 days later. Walked in, welcomed in by my dental hygienist who I always see, she took x-rays, pictures, and scans with all their upscale technology. she cleaned my teeth as scheduled, NO deep cleaning needed for $600. The dentist/Doctor came in to check out my teeth, He found NO signs of periodontal issues, received my treatment plan, and I'm back to being happy with my previous dental office (even if they are out of network, I trust them). I will not be needing to return to this dental office, nor will I be referring anyone to them. Maybe as a last resort. read more

If you can get past the rude, mismanaged front desk, Dr. Houston is a really sweet, well-trained dentist. Unfortunately, she is preceded by a couple of officious desk ladies who don't know how to communicate with humans. In addition, being brought bills to sign while you are in the chair getting ready to have a cavity filled makes it seem like they are worried you may run out on your bill. I didn't think I stepped into a low-income dental clinic. It sure looked classy. But that was not the treatment we received. I'm between a 4 and 5, but rounding up for now and will update if that changes! I had a cleaning here and all of the staff were really friendly! The xrays and the cleaning were both done gently and carefully without causing unnecessary pain, which is more rare than it should be. The dentist was also friendly and easy to talk to. They were clear on what is covered vs out of pocket, and helpful with discussions on future work that I need (like my wisdom teeth removal I've put off for longer than normal). It did take longer than I'd prefer with a good bit of waiting, but they were very apologetic about it and explained the reason for the delays, which I really appreciate. It's also a pretty new office, so it's clean and modern which is nice. And they have TVs at each chair which is nice. read more

I had one visit here for a cleaning. It was clean. Everyone was nice. I did not have a long wait. My cleaning with smooth. They have high tech equipment. I had no problem with my insurance. I did not get a letter in the mail saying I owed additional money after my visit. It is conveniently located in the same shopping center as Sprouts. read more

As a former patient of this office, it's incredibly disappointing that this medical profesional preferred to make a 'quick buck' than lookout for her patient. I had Invisalign treatment done that was subpar. When I came to the end of treatment, I was informed that these were the best results I would get. I decided to get the opinion of an orthodontist. To my surprise, I learned the reason why after multiple requests to extend treatment were turned down by the dentist. The treatment was coded incorrectly with Invisalign which would result in the dentist paying out of pocket to continue treatment. This saddens me because my trust was placed with this individual. This is the best Dentist office I have ever been to! I was having so much trouble with my dental insurance, it was a big mess and had I not been referred to West Cobb Dental by Smile Generation I would still have broken front teeth! After I talked to LaToya, the office manager who made me feel like she really cared about my situation, I made my appointment to see Dr. Aguilera. I can't begin to tell you what a miracle worker she is! She listens to you and she tells you options but goes with what you want or need. She has a wonderful personality and helped me get thru the anxiety of being at the dentist. I hate leaving negative reviews but just want to warn others about this dentist. both my wife and I had very bad experiences with dentist with being overcharge, excessive wait times and conflicting information. My wife took my son one day and was charged nearly 350.00 and told to come back tomorrow but the dentist was no longer working there so they wanted to start over and charge us another 350.00. My experience was much worse but bottom line I lost about 500.00 and also had to go to another dentist. They do not even deserve 1 star so be careful here. read more

I am new to the area and was in need of a new dentist, so I visited this office back in late October. I arrived on time for my appointment, but was taken back about 20 minutes late. Also, I had to wait after x-rays to be taken for my exam, and then I had to wait once I got in the exam room, and then I had to wait after the dentist checked me, and then I had to wait for a billing lady to come in and go over my coverage, and then I had to wait for the hygienist to do my cleaning. The hygienist used my bib to wipe off her instrument, and the way she angled it when she did so, I felt she poked me in the shoulder multiple times. After this appointment, I decided to switch to a dentist my husband saw and liked. I called last week to have my x-rays sent to the new dentist, and yesterday confirmed with the new dentist that they were not sent. I called again yesterday and asked that my x-rays be emailed to me, gave them my email address, and still have not received them. I called just now to ask when I should expect to receive them, and was met with "You've probably heard that we have a new system and we're shorthanded up front." After looking up my request, she said they would get my x-rays to me by the end of the day today, and when I started to repeat it back to her to confirm I'd heard correctly, she hung up on me. Between the less-than-ideal appointment (that took two hours for a routine appointment) and the rudeness of the staff, I would not recommend this office. read more

Staff was super nice and very helpful. Cleaning was fast and painless. Going to the dentist is stressful but I didn't feel uncomfortable here.
