The Campbell Dental Group offers the most enjoyable dental experience of my life. The team is upbeat, kind, and professional. Everyone knows what they're doing, and cleanings are thoroughly executed. Coverage may be an issue for some, but this is just from industry restrictions. Insurance usually won't kick in for months, and many people have to pay out of pocket. This is not the dentist's fault, and should not reflect on their capabilities. The Campbell Dental Group is a gem that deserves more business and more credit. I'm writing this review because it disappoints me to say that as a business they do not have the proper front end representatives/ front office manager, nor do the have a proper insurance representative. It was my first time getting insurance. I was proud to choose a Black Owned Business as well. During all of my appointments I received good service all around. I needed to pay for fillings during my 2nd appt which I didn't mind at all because I just got insurance. I paid my copay early made my appt the following month. Came in to my appointment &since I already paid it was an easy checkout& I scheduled my 6month check up. Fast Forward 6months later they explained to me that I had a balance from my fillings and it needed to be paid because I had a waiting period for my insurance& I had no idea about. So I had to pay an extra $600 on top of the $500 I paid in April. After multiple back and forth calls this is a sum of what was discussed with to front desk reps; Asking to speak to an office manager which they don't have, or the person who handled the insurance, and found out they can't make up there mind if the insurance is done in or out of office and the doctor prefers to notify everyone in person about fees rather than over the phone. Waited for the doctor to hear about my complaint and I have yet to receive a call so I called to check on my response just to find out the person I spoke to the previous week No longer works there so I had to explain my problem again. Being told they can't do anything to accommodate me, So I asked to be put on a payment plan and she asked when I could pay it back and i asked for 90 days and she told me no they cannot do that. I have always been on time with my payments, I've never had a problem and still have yet to receive a call back. With that being said It is very unprofessional as a business to make your patients feel as if it was their fault because you didn't have the right people there handling your front end business/insurance the correct way. Very friendly and professional, but told me that I needed extensive/expensive work done on my first visit (and refused to clean my teeth until I agreed to that work being done, which was annoying and felt like a waste of my time), which was surprising given my previous dental history. Sure enough, I went for a second opinion and the recommended procedures were entirely unnecessary. read more

Fourth year going here. Cleanings as well as invisalign x6 mo. Excellent office; friendly, efficient; I feel like they always have an opening within a couple weeks (sometimes days!) of me calling and the wait times are very reasonable. Super nice staff too! Whenever the dentists are out, there's someone covering to avoid cancelations; the covering dentists (I've met 3) are very capable, kind, etc. Would definitely recommend this office. read more

I really enjoy the Campbell Dental Group. It takes me a while to find the right health care providers because I have very high expectations of services. The Campbell Dental Group is always friendly and professional. The facility is clean, welcoming and family friendly. Dr. Monica is attentive to her patients and provides comprehensive care. I travel 30 minutes to this office 1) for the experience and 2) because I trust her work. Another perk of the office is flexible hours. Once or twice a week, they will stay open until 7pm. I have not had any problems with either one of them and I have had extensive dental work done. They worked with me financially and I was able to make payments w/o breaking my budget. Scam Artists!!! I bought a half off depot voucher for exam, xrays and a cleaning. I was there 90 min for the exam and xrays only to find out I had to come back another day and go thru a "consultation" with the dentist about proper treatment for all my "dental issues". When I questioned just being able to get a cleaning, they said that was their procedure. Most dental offices can do an exam, xrays and cleaning in an hour. I am sure they wanted me to come back so I could spend LOTS of money to do unnecessary procedures. This place has SCAM written all over it!!! They should be ashamed of themselves!! read more

I went to Dr. Monica Campbell for a follow-up to a root canal completed by a different dentist...which, by the way, was extremely painful. Dr. Campbell's spirit is so pleasant and her techniques were precise. She did an excellent job on my temporary crowns and molding process. It was painless! Her office team is helpful and pleasant. First off let me say i am not a great patient lol, I was terrified of having one of my teeth extracted and I put it off for weeks. The pain was becoming unbearable so I decided to let Dr Monica and her staff remove the broken tooth. I am terrified of needles, and let's just say I didn't even feel it when I was administered the anesthesia. The procedure was very quick and straight forward. The most expensive least enjoyable dental experience I have ever had. This office has a husband and wife team. The wife worked on me the first Tim, putting in q post and prepping a tooth for a crown. It was an awful experience (I hate people in my mouth) but she made it bearable. It wasn't $600 worth of bearable for one visit. The next visit I had the husband and he seemed bothered that it took so long to place the crown in my mouth and get a proper fit. That visit was nearly $700. I did not enjoy how they did everything without telling me exactly what was happening. I had to keep asking questions like: "why are you drilling my tooth into nothing?" And got responses like "this is your first time?" I was thinking "woman please I am paying you far more than you are worth for some bs service." Simply put- I will NOT return to this place. I would rather drive 2 hours ones way to a dentist I love and actually cared & won't take my entire savings with them. Also the technician in the room held the dryer (for the cement) against my tooth 10 times as long as the doctor has told her too. I worry that between the bleach and other chemicals they sealed my tooth with I was exposed to too much radiation or something. I greatly disliked the way that they did whatever they wanted in my mouth. read more

I've been going to this office for a couple of years now and have had a positive experience. I've had to go back in one for a filling that popped out right after the procedure, and they were quick to get it fixed the next day with no charges. I like that they have an email / texting reminder service. I'm about to starting taking my young children here, and we'll see how they handle that! I spent a lot of money here, filling my cavities and it's been more than a year and my teeth are still sensitive. It sucks, I went back for them to look at it twice they didn't know what to do and gave me sensodyne. There are always weird extra bills that get mailed to you after you leave, I think I'm done with them. read more

This place is a complete rip off. I scheduled a routine cleaning and didn't even get one until my third visit. The first appointment was a "comprehensive exam" (x-rays, etc.), which is typically done when you get a cleaning anywhere else. They push you to do unnecessary work (i.e. my second appointment). I finally got the routine cleaning during my third visit, but since they considered it a follow-up appointment it was not filed to my insurance as a routine cleaning and I was forced to pay $115 out of pocket versus $0 that I would have paid for a cleaning. Their billing is completely messed up; the bill itself is impossible to follow and they once submitted a claim to my insurance company for three services I did not even have done. It took my insurance company over a week to get straightened out. The employees are very friendly, but I will not be going back! read more

On my first visit at this place, they took x-ray of my teeth. On my second visit they gave me cost estimate. I agreed to do some procedures and opted out to do other. I asked them many times if it will be the final cost. I asked Ms. Monica Campbell many time because I have read the yelp reviews. She told me that being in a business for so long we know how much your insurance going to cover and keep telling me there will not be any more surprises in terms of cost. She told me to do the procedure the same day .I took her words and I paid my dues on days I got the service. But today on my third visit, they told me that my insurance didn't cover all the services and they made me pay extra money. They didn't send me any bills in mail or tried to inform me regarding my cost. I wonder if you are in this business long enough and claimed to have worked with my insurance company many of times. Why weren't you able to show the real cost and surprised me with this extra cost? I find it really shady and deceiving. I should have considered other yelp reviews before I went to this place. I felt my trust towards this place has been broken. My anger and frustration is only towards the management and Ms. Campbell for giving me misinformation and lying to me. I knew I needed some fillings done and I got rid of all my ugly silver fillings and now have all tooth colored fillings! I am still suffering from trauma from treatment by these Dentist's. Paid in full for Invasalign. Was sent off with a cracked retainer. Dr Wendell cut the end of it off after he broke a tooth and sent me on my way. Performed a four hour root canal, which sent me to a specialist. I am now having to spend thousands again paying for or tho services to fix the damage they have caused. I spent so much money at this practice only to be traumatized and having to go on to another practice to fix their damage. read more

I have been a regular patient of Dr. Wendell and Monica Campbell for the last year. I sought out both routine dental maintenance and orthodontic care. I have to say that they are some of the best in the business. Their office is serene and well maintained as they attempt to provide you with the most comfortable experience as possible through out your visit. Both doctors are exceedingly knowledgeable, hospitable, and experienced. They go above an beyond to inform you of what is going on inside of your mouth and what you can do to improve your overall oral health. This may be why the other poster, Karen S. may have felt like she was being scammed, despite not having gone through with any treatment. I have been to other dentists who seemed as though they wanted to rush you out of their office or work through the proceedures you request in a careless manner without giving you the full perspective of what might be an issue for you, only to find out a month or so later that you have an even larger problem that has grown even worse and was not mentioned at all in the past visits. This was not the case at the Campbell Dental Group. Further, I felt that their prices were on par with market value, especially given their expertise and level of new technology in office. The staff is excellent is amazingly friendly and upbeat. Dr. Wendell is a comic and Dr. Monica is always a joy. Even if you have a root canal, you will always leave with a smile. read more

i went there for xrays and a cleaning and had my entire bill spelled out for me. what each procedure costs, what my insurance covered and what i will pay. i left my first visit under the impression my insurance had covered it, without a call, email, letter or any warning from the dentist that i had fees to pay. my next visit was a cleaning and i was told by them it would cost me 10 dollars. i was hit with a $140 bill out of nowhere when i was leaving....i had to no show a visit due to a work emergency and they charged me $50 for the no show. you guys are really that busy to where you have to charge people for not being able to make it?? then they said i owed them money from my last visit. why didnt they tell me before this point? i would have pushed my visit back a little until i had sufficient funds to spare. i think its entirely unprofessional and i wouldnt recommend them to anyone unless you want to guess what you will be paying after each visit. read more
