Dr. Cary Goldstein's commitment to his patients extends far beyond the dental chair. After my temporary veneers were placed, he personally texted to check on me. Later, he and Chris called to ask detailed questions about the fit and color of my temporary veneers to ensure everything was progressing exactly as planned. That level of personal follow-up speaks volumes about how much he cares about achieving the very best outcome for each patient. Throughout every lengthy appointment, Dr. Goldstein has been calm, reassuring, patient, and incredibly thorough. He explained every detail of each step of the process--from the temporary veneers to the permanent placement and even the purpose and fit of my night guard. He frequently checked on my comfort, offering breaks or even a protein shake if I needed one. His professionalism, knowledge, attention to detail, and pursuit of perfection have given me complete confidence throughout this journey. Jackie has been an outstanding partner in my care. She worked diligently alongside Dr. Goldstein during both the temporary and permanent veneer procedures. She carefully explained the importance of keeping the shade sample she provided in a safe place, reviewed the use of my temporary night guard, and consistently made sure I understood every aspect of my treatment. Terrific! Have had multiple family members (adults and children) go here and it has been great. Dr. Perlow and staff are super friendly, hygienists very thorough and great teachers. For kids, it may not have all the frills of a pediatric dentist office, but they do a great job and make the kids very comfortable. Ours ended up needed more work than us and we were quoted less than 1/10th the price of a prior pediatric dentist (whom we felt was basically trying to rip us and the other patrons off) with far less invasive treatments. The WORST dental experience ever. I saw Dr. Perlow for what was described as "baby" cavities. What should have been routine turned into a nightmare. Immediately following his work, I began experiencing excruciating pain. After two return visits to have my bite adjusted, I was assured everything was fine. My additional calls went unreturned, including my calls to Dr. Goldstein, the head of the dental practice. I sought a second opinion from one of Atlanta's top dentists who has been exceptional at correcting the work and finally reducing the pain. Bottom line - Perlow's work has resulted in having fillings redone and a root canal (I'm only 22). I'm out of pocket over $3k redoing his work and correcting his errors. In addition, the night guard he made for me didn't fit my mouth. (They did refund me for this error). As if all of this wasn't enough, there were bait and switch billing errors. I was quoted one rate for the work; after it was completed, they told me the they made a mistake and tried to charge me double. After my parents engaged, they offered to cover up to 4k for my out of pocket expenses to have the work redone elsewhere. But with my mouth still hurting and more work to be done, I was unwilling to sign a release. I still have sensitivity where Perlow worked on me and have developed a serious fear of dentists. My biggest hope at this point is to prevent someone else from a similar experience. When I see the five star reviews, I wonder how many are written by friends and family members. From proper diagnosis, to treatment and even billing, there wasn't one thing that went right in this office. Do yourself a big favor and find a dentist who is more experienced and willing to accept accountability for their work. This dentist is young, inexperienced and defensive without adequate oversight from Dr. Goldstein. read more

I was very disappointed with my veneers and had to have them redone at great expense. Dr. Goldstein did not make them as we discussed and charged me more to remake them. Again, he did not make the changes he promised. He also took shortcuts, because he did not make temporaries as is the usual practice. After several years of being unhappy with the veneers I went to a specialist and had them redone. Choosing Dr. Goldstein was a regrettable and costly mistake. read more

I visited this office once after I moved to Atlanta and I was looking for a new dentist. I am 28 years old and have never had a cavity and I get regular cleanings. After the hygienist completed my cleaning, she informed me that I had several cavities and sent me to the front desk or office manager who quoted me about $3000 of work. I was very hesitant to believe this information considering my last dentist did not mention any possible cavities. I went to a another dentist and got a second opinion, who told me I did not have any cavities. This office is clearly corporate and tried to meet their quota by performing unnecessary fillings on me. It is a shame that they are putting sales over customer service and their patients needs. I highly DO NOT recommend this office! read more

This is a great dentist. It's very clean and modern, with excellent healthcare IT systems (and anyone who has ever had to deal with confusing or conflicting statements knows how valuable good IT systems are!). The dental hygienists are all very nice and gental with your teeth, and all of the rooms have TVs on the ceiling (complete with wireless headphones) so that you can watch TV while getting your teeth cleaned - no more awkward conversations with your mouth wide open. The Goldstein Center has competitive prices for procedures (seals, etc), but they are a little pricey for basic cleanings and bitewing x-rays, so you'll want to double check your insurance. If they're out-of-network for you, you'll probably still have to pay something (it's typically been between $11-$40 for me on basic cleanings and x-rays). read more

The whole team at Goldstein Dental is extremely professional and friendly. I have gotten everything from cleanings and cavities to cosmetic dentistry done with Dr Perlow and his team (Miranda, Whitney, etc) and they all treat me like family. They care about my comfort during procedures and also make sure I am happy with the outcome. My fiancé also goes to this location and has been equally impressed with his experience there. The office manager was very rude during a recent experience. I informed her that I would be a few minutes late and she told me to drive to the office. Once there she shared that they could not complete the scheduled cleaning although she knew I would be late. I called before coming to share that I would be late (stuck in Atlanta traffic). I drove 45 minutes and was turn away for being 15 minutes late. She rudely told me that I could contact Great Expressions for a follow up appointment (rude). My husband and I are great customers. We love working with Dr. Goldstein. However, the experience with the office manager left a bad impression. read more

I love Goldstein Dental. I went there after not being to a dentist in a few years. I was figuring they were going to try and sell me on all this stuff that I needed to have done, which my last dentist did and why I didn't go back. They did not do this. They examined my teeth and was able to do a cleaning the same day. I have since gotten a night guard because of soreness and my jaw which was contributed to grinding my teeth at night. I have been to my share of dentist and this would definitely be one of my top two, the other is in Ohio. Ya'll I love me Some Golstein Dental!! Woop woop. I'm new to Atlanta and didn't feel fully settled until I found a GREAT dentist....first time's the charm! I have dentist anxiety due to many childhood interactions with the dentist. Goldstein dental took all of that anxiety and fear away the moment I laid down in Rochelle's chair for my first cleaning. Goldstein is not pretentious and stuffy (though it is warmly decorated) you feel at home and that is so important to me. I've gotten fillings, crowns and a whole new beautiful smile by way of composite and bonding at Goldstein in less than 5 months. I'm so pleased with all of my work!! With my dental bonding....I have a million dollar smile which has been pretty life changing for me. Dr Perlow is an artist, he transformed my teeth and smile in one long session. Dr Perlow is very personable, warm and engaged. When he's working on you...one would never guess he has a booked schedule, running up and down stairs and meeting multiple patient's to conquer their dental needs.... as he makes you feel like you are his only patient and sole priority....not easy but he makes it look effortless. The members of the team I've interacted with- Barbara, Priscilla, Rochelle, Miranda and Whitney are purely delightful and I look forward to seeing them when I have an appointment. I have been a patient on and off of Dr. Goldstein's for over 15 years (soooo...how old is Yelp? Because I'm THAT late on this review). I was "off" from him when I moved out of town twice, and ALWAYS compared the other dentists to him. I even ended up seeing the same lady who cleaned my teeth at his office when she and I both moved to the same city, and she said, "I have never seen prettier work than Dr. Goldstein's"...and folks, she was talking about my fillings. So just imagine how fabulous he is at everything else. There was also a time I had to see other dentists in Atlanta due to my changing insurance, and after the last time (hence, my remembrance to write this review) I knew that he and his work were worth me paying out of pocket more. I just completed a year-long course of Clear Correct at Goldstein, and I am extremely pleased with the results! I visited the office many times over the past year--approximately once every three weeks--and I have to say that it was always a positive experience. I primarily saw Casey, but I also saw Dr. Goldstein and some of the other staff from time to time. All of them were extremely friendly and professional. Overall, I felt like they went above and beyond what was expected (especially since I had purchased the Clear Correct treatment as a discounted livingsocial/groupon type deal), and in my last visit they really seemed to do everything they could to make sure my smile looked as good as possible, including cosmetic contouring. A nightmare on speed. My daughter booked an appointment with Cary Goldstein to have cavities filled. Her referred her to another dentist in the office, Jacob Perlow. Perlow advised my daughter she had "baby cavities" and scheduled two appointments to fill them. After the second appointment, my daughter immediately began complaining about excruciating pain. She returned twice for an evaluation. The first time her bite was adjusted. A few weeks later, she booked a second appointment with Perlow to again complain about pain, driving from Athens where she was a student at UGA. Instead of seeing Perlow, she saw a dental hygienist who explained Perlow was on vacation. My daughter was never told this before driving in. She explained that she felt as though she was biting into glass. The hygienist dismissed her complaints saying many people become sensitive after fillings and told her to try another toothpaste. Why the hygienist didn't ask Goldstein to see her at this point is difficult to understand. After trouble eating and continued pain weeks after the procedure, we took her to a top Atlanta dentist who was able to quickly diagnose the issues. Unfortunately, it required redoing a few fillings and even worse, an emergency root canal. Because her pain had been dismissed and misdiagnosed multiple times by Perlow and team, she had an infection and ended up losing a permanent tooth. In addition, Goldstein's office claimed they made a pricing mistake, trying to charge us double for the work. It was blamed on a bookkeeper that Goldstein referred to as "a bad apple" who has since been terminated. Last, Perlow made my daughter a mouth guard that didn't come close to fitting. Had she not been in so much pain and lost a tooth, the situation would have almost been laughable. (We did get a refund for the mouth guard and her new dentist made her a perfect one on the first try but we're still out of pocket $3500 for getting the work corrected and my daughter still has sensitivity from Perlow's work). My husband and I were distraught about the entire experience and requested a meeting with Perlow and Goldstein, the head of the practice. Perlow used the meeting to accuse my daughter of lying about the pain, despite an emergency root canal and redone fillings. Goldstein intervened several times and asked him to stop berating my daughter who left the office in tears. Had there been even a suggestion that the cavities would be difficult to fill or possibly result in a root canal, we would have had the work done by a more experienced dentist. We were never given that option and that's simply wrong. I've read other online reviews and recently spoke to other patients in the practice who've had equally bad or worse experiences at this office. When I see the five star reviews, I wonder how many are written by friends and family members. From proper diagnosis, to treatment and even billing, there wasn't one thing that went right in this office. You will do yourself a big favor by finding another practice. read more

The worst dental experience of my life. Conned me into paying $245 before even seeing hygienist. Hygienist began with telling me how depressed she was, dropped pick on floor then wanted to use it in my mouth. Began xrays and forgot to put protective apron on me until I mentioned it. Did not know how to put bite wings in my mouth and when she went to clean I could not open my mouth wide enough due to TMJ, she threw down everything and said she could not go on. Thank God! I could not wait to get out of there. Turns out she was a temp! Wouldn't that be something you would mention up front and give me the opportunity to make another appointment with a regular staff member? I was so upset with them that I asked for my money back and they refused. I found another dentist who I absolutely love and had Goldstein forward my xrays and they could not even read them. Think twice before going to Goldstein but book your next appointment with Pleasant Dentistry! read more

Be cautious. I have only been once to Goldstein dental, and it was not a pleasant experience due 100% to the front office staff. From the minute I walked in, the front office person made no eye contact with me, no welcoming greeting or even a smile. It seemed like I was inconveniencing her just by being in her presence. Very uncomfortable and unprofessional. I was eventually taken back by a hygienist, who was nice and seemed to do a good job with my cleaning. That was the only positive aspect of the whole experience. I did not see a dentist. After the cleaning, I asked for x-rays to be emailed to me. Turns out they emailed them to the wrong email address!! Huge breach of confidence and security. When I tried to get this corrected, the front office would not return any of my emails or even apologize. AND to top it all off, the front office messed up my payment! I paid for the entire appointment out of pocket BUT THEN got a letter from my insurance saying they also sent a check to the dentist for the appointment. Wow. I have no trust in the front office to maintain my medical information or collect honest payment from either myself or an insurance company. read more

When visiting for the first time the staff was nice. Although, after the first visit and treatment plan I was made aware of the prices. They charge 2-3 times the going rate for fillings and crowns(over 1,700 for a crown). I was told I may need a root canal and the"dentist" upstairs would take a look at my x-ray and get back to me. After not hearing anything for a week, I called in and they said they would check on it. 2 days later still no word so I call again. They again stated they would get back to me and finally they actually did. They then tried to refer me to another dentist with no explanation why or the dentists assessment. When I returned to get my crown Dr. Goldstein did not see a filling that could cause a problem with the new crown and I developed a food trap that was very uncomfortable and I had to get it fixed elsewhere since he is astronomically expensive. He also had another dentist in the room, doing nothing but talking and pointing, which in turn made me feel like a lab rat and the procedure took longer than expected. Overall, the quality of work is not what I would expect when paying such a large fee. I also received differing opinions from the staff and Dr. Goldstein. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DENTIST! read more

Last year I went to Brookhaven Dental for my annual cleaning, exam and x-rays. They did a good job and recommended optional work on 3 teeth (which I did not follow-up on), total out of pocket was $7 (insurance paid the rest). This year I went to Goldstein Dental Center on my fiancee's recommendation for the same service and got socked with a $680 bill. Ouch!! No cavities (I have great teeth, no cavities the past 35 years). Out of pocket was $182 and insurance paid the rest. Same cleaning, exam and x-rays. I can't say the cleaning was any better or worse than Brookhaven, but the price was outrageous. Oh, and Goldstein recommended "optional" work on 10 teeth - none of which were the same as Brookhaven Dental. Makes me wonder how two dentists cannot agree on the same recommendations (none of which were apparently urgent), and left me wondering what their motivations are. It took me almost a year to get a bill out of this guy just to compare to my insurance records and they had errors in their accounting, all of which indicates to me something questionable and I will not be going back to this dentist. read more
