My biggest complaint is if your doctor sends them an order, I usually give them two weeks to call me and make the appointment like they are supposed to, and then I call them to get the appointment. I called back and they said they still didn't have a referral so I couldn't schedule an appointment. Scheduling department is atrocious. I would rather go to Alaska to get imaging done. I was thoroughly happy and next went for my arms. I ride a Harley Davidson and the skin vibrating on my arms was terrible. I went from 400 pounds to 130. He had a lot of skin to deal with. I can't say enough good things about him and all of the staff. They really care about their patients.

Looked like bloody water. We were told, by a nurse that it happens sometimes after surgery.... Yeah. No biggie. Nurse said he told the Dr, but, he was still sent home. He even said try to keep it dry. ( My finance even had to go to the oncologist before he left the hospital-so that Dr and the nurse down there saw him leaking out too!) He goes back for his follow up and still leaking. Dr acted like he didn't want to touch him. Barely did, in fact. He said he thinks his inner stitches aren't healing and he is going to need surgery again but wants another cat scan to be sure. Sends us, not to the er but to the imaging center across the street. After the Dr there read the results he sent us immediately to the er. The Dr in the er said yes the muscles weren't healing underneath properly and that it was herniated now and he will definitely need surgery..... again. The thing that got me the most was every time I complained about the surgeon Dr, someone- usually the nurse would ask who the surgeon was and EVERY time, without fail, the look on their face changed when I said his name. So I asked, would you want him working on your loved ones? They either wouldn't answer or said no way! IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PERSON PLEASE FIND SOMEONE ELSE! Oh, one more thing. While we were in his office for the follow up, I overheard him speaking very poorly to one of the office staff. From what I gathered, he messed up and tried to blame her or one of the other girls. I was proud when she kind of snipped back at him just because I didn't like the way he was speaking to her. Very condescending tone. Strongly DO NOT RECOMMEND!

My experience with this doctor was horrible. My fiancé suffered a bowel obstruction and Mascarenhas…read morewas his surgeon. He did not have bedside manner, he wasn't concerned about our concerns or questions, he did not explain what we should expect after surgery. When he removed my fiancé's staples he didn't use any antibacterial cleaners and the incision became infected. When we did go back for a follow up he was fast talking and avoided our question by saying it's fine it healing. It was not healing and antibiotics were needed that was prescribed by a different doctor who realized the big oozing blisters on the incinsion were infections. Mascarenhas closed up the incinsion so tight that my fiancé has a permanent bulge on his right side that is not going away. When he stands up straight his skin is stretching because his skin was pulled so tight together after surgery. When we spoke to someone higher up all they said is he's a really smart doctor he just doesn't know how to talk to people. I don't know maybe he just didn't like us. Overall it was a horrible experience with him and he did nothing to help us when things went wrong after the surgery. He even avoided seeing us when we tried to get an appointment after the incinsion became infected and said we have to wait a week. So we ended up seeing a different doctor. Please choose a different doctor when seeking help.

So, I was blamed for my foot problem. Was told you can't even go barefooted in your own home. Was also blamed for other things. The center knows how to belittle people and make them feel bad. You don't tell a 71 year old he was wrong all his life for bare footedness, especially around the house. Also, there were only 2 patients with two podiatrists. I still had to wait 30 minutes in a small room. Also, scolded for something I didn't do pertaining to recovery and time duration of followup visit.
