This place had my boat from May-December of…read more2024, when I took it in it just needed an impeller.Got it back, picked it up, took it to the lake, didn't run. Took it back, needed a water bowl? Picked it up, took it to the lake, STILL DIDNT RUN without over heating. Took it again!!! Block was cracked... ordered new engine, it took them 7 months to replace the engine. Got it back in December. Waited til season time came back around. Needless to say.. IT STILL DIDNT RUN. And the company didn't even do the warranty papers on my engine nor did they test the engine out in water before they gave me back my boat. Said they did. They did not!! So it goes back to them to make it right. Took it back to them for the hundredth time, got it back. Took it to the lake, ended up overheated, bow of the entire boat was full of oil, and fuel!! Took it back to them AGAIN, they ordered whatever exhaust part it needed. Said they'd had it ready in a week and bring it back to me... two weeks later.... I called them to check the status of the work, they said we're doing it today, you can pick it up in the morning, after they already agreed to bring it back out to me on the lake and test it before giving me my boat back. Horrible horrible horrible. So the night I go to pick it up... back the truck up to the hitch about to lower the jack, the handle is just laying there broken!!!! I had to hold my boat up with my legs and call my wife to come rescue me and help me! These guys are a terrible excuse for mechanics and there's absolutely NO QUALITY CONTROL!! Beware and AVOID!!!!

They've done exactly that and then some. I wholeheartedly recommend Marine Works and owner/master mechanic Danny for an overall quality experience. Before I bought a boat from them they did the maintenance and fixed anything i had wrong with my original boat. Danny would take the time to walk me through troubleshooting to make sure it wasn't something small before I drove an hour to bring my boat down there. He always shot me straight and was fair which I appreciated immensely. Fast forward a year and I bought my brand new boat from them. The process was seamless and they took care of everything for me. If I didn't like how something was done they made it right. Danny has always made me feel like a priority which is all you can ask for from a dealer.

Every year on the Fourth of July weekend or near it, I rent a pontoon out on the lake! It's always…read morea good time. And my friends and I just divide the costs and it's always worth the cost. I will say, this year, I miscounted how many people I had on the lake-- you can only have 10 people per boat depending on the boat. We got a super standard! Well, I was planning for this boat trip- I forgot to include myself. Some guy working made a comment and said someone has to go home because I have 11 people and didn't provide solutions. He scolded me for not paying attention. However, we had two people rent our a dingy which in hindsight- if he would've mentioned that then they would make more money-- instead of scolding my group for having ONE extra person. Also! Book ahead when getting a boat! They fill up fast and when I called about the weather looking like it might lightening and thundering-- they were not concerned and said I could reschedule but they don't have many weekends. I'd suggest they be more willing work with people on weather and to remind people on protocols such as 10 people and offering solutions.

His work is on par with any other marine repair shop I've been to. I appreciate that he has always gotten my work in and completed on an appropriate time-frame and anytime there was a delay he discussed with me the why and the how much longer. I could find a shop closer than the 1.5 hours it takes to get to him but I choose to go there because of Phillip and his work. yes, I recommend his shop to my friends.
