Who doesn't love donuts. I was excited to try this donut shop off of Broadway. The donuts all look amazing. It was hard to choose which ones to get. Fortunately I was in a group and we were able to split a half dozen donuts so that we could try a few different flavors. My favorite was the canoli and the Nutella maple. The flavors rotate and I believe they have a few staple flavors that are offered all the time. I did not try out a drink but a few people in my group said their iced drinks were good. read more

Donerds Donuts is a locally owned small business that's well worth a stop when you're visiting Jim Thorpe. I learned that the owners met in Chile, where they were inspired to start a donut and coffee food truck. They sold their handcrafted donuts from a vintage VW bus on the streets of Santiago before eventually bringing their passion to Pennsylvania. Today, they have two locations, and I had the pleasure of visiting the Jim Thorpe shop. The storefront is charming, welcoming, and has a few seats where you can relax and enjoy your treats with a fresh cup of coffee. Best of all, everything is made fresh on-site. Their display case is filled with an impressive selection of classic and specialty donuts, along with colorful macarons, French toast cinnamon rolls, flaky croissants, and a full lineup of coffee drinks ranging from lattes to iced coffees. Honestly...wow! Deciding what to order wasn't easy. Since it was already midday, I kept it simple and went with a Boston Cream donut. It was incredibly fresh, light, and filled with rich, creamy custard, then topped with a smooth layer of chocolate. Absolutely delicious! A special shout-out to Sarah, who made the visit even better. She was warm, friendly, and incredibly helpful, taking the time to explain the different donuts and macarons. Everything she described sounded amazing, and she definitely had my mouth watering. I had to show some self-control or I would've walked out with half the display case! She was fantastic. If you're spending the day in Jim Thorpe, do yourself a favor and make a stop at Donerds Donuts. I was in Jim Thorpe for 2 days and noticed this shop across the street from my hotel so I obviously had to try it. And then I had to go back the next day for another! They have an excellent selection of doughnuts but I opted for the pistachio and then the smores doughnut. I got a snickers flavored iced coffee which was excellent. On the first day, I noticed they made breakfast sandwiches so I tried one of those. The worker kindly took the bacon off for me so I had an egg and cheese on an English muffin, which was decent. They have ample seating inside, some tables out front, and I noticed a back patio area which they likely open when it gets busy. It's clean, cute, and cozy. The next time I'm in town, I'm coming back. There's many more doughnuts to try! read more

I was happy it was open cuz Yelp says closed til tomorrow at 7am. It's located on a Main Street downtown near the library. It has a whimsical sign so look for "donuts"! The drip coffee was excellent and tasty flavor. None of the people smile in the town tho. Dog walkers, other customers...employees...everyone looks kind of indifferent and miserable. Cute little count stop with counter service only. The donuts are good with some unique flavors highlighted. The croissant was actually our favorite between the creme brûlée and strawberry cream croissant. It's a nice stop, but a once and done for us. While the donuts were good, we didn't think the flavors were as good as they could have been. The second time I had a PB cup one, and it was delicious. My daughter had a smores donut and absolutely loved it. My husband also had coffee and said it was great. Came to Jim Thorpe for the weekend and had to stop at this highly recommended shop! We got here around 9 am, on a Saturday (Easter weekend), and they still had quite a large selection of donuts and there was not a line. We got a wide array of donuts and enjoyed them ALL. I particularly enjoyed the crème brûlée and "homer," which is one of their more simplistic donuts. We were even able to have a few the next day and they were still just as delicious. I also got an iced chai here and it was truly incredible. I didn't have super high expectations for my coffee, but was pleasantly surprised. Tip: Their menu does change everyday, so you want to be sure to check their social media before going there, as their store is not large, and can be overwhelming if you're not familiar with the flavors do the day. I think Jim Thorpe is donut heaven and I just made a visit, wow. The banana brûlée was amazing, maybe the best donut ever . The blueberry cheesecake was also delicious but not as good as the brûlée , they have so many amazing choices it was a difficult decision but I don't think you can go wrong. These are not the average run of the Mill coffee shop donuts, they are clearly made by passionate bakers that know what they're doing. I didn't read about the places story but I'm sure they have been around a long time, and will be around for a long time. The donut is very hearty but light and airy, the cream filling is very creamy and you can tell made with quality ingredients. They are definitely well worth the cost , probably should be more. Definitely go glad I tried a few and will definitely visit this place if I ever am in Jim Thorpe again.
