I took my boat to Donlin Marine (Pickstown, SD) due to high current draw and draining the battery overnight. He said if I got it to him asap, he'd cover it under warranty. He had my boat for about 1 month before he ever did anything with it (kept making excuses)! He charged me $150 just to put antifreeze in the engine for winter (no oil changes or anything else for this price)! He said he replaced the alternator under warranty, replaced the ignition switch and replaced the "-" cable from the battery to the engine. Charged me a total of $450!!!! I was told there is no current draw now. WRONG! The boat still has the exact same current draw as when I took it in (still draining battery overnight)!
Now, just this last weekend, I was replacing the water impeller in my lower unit (Alpha 1, Gen 2) and decided to replace the carrier seal under the impeller. I could not find one in Yankton, so I called Donlin Marine (mistake!...) . He told me he had them in stock and it's $27. When I drove the hour drive to get there, he said he was mistaken and the price is $47!!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY FROM DONLIN MARINE! I will NEVER do business with them again!!!!! What a waste of time and money!!!! read more
