She also worked on his place command, and now he stays calmly on his bed until released, which has made having guests over so much easier. One of the things that really stood out was how Jennifer took the time to get to know us as well as our dog. She found out we have a horse background and used that to our advantage--explaining training techniques in ways that made total sense to us. She gave examples that tied into the horse world, which made the process so much more intuitive and familiar. She also helped address Maverick's excitement around other dogs, which stems from his strong herding instincts. With Jennifer's guidance, he's now calm and focused on us. She passed and I felt really great about her experience. Upon arrival and departure, all very secure. The team was great and I can't wait to see how she does after her first overnight experience. My two rescues have their own set of issues. Teddy has been the dog of the house for years and Lilith, my COVID rescue, is a LARGE change in pace for our lives. Teddy, my 15lb doggo who has been king of the house for 5.5 years. Lilith, a 120lb, 9mo Great Dane and a jealous puppy. There's a lot going on in their relationship and our relationship as a pack. Sydney came in and was able to assess our dynamics so quickly. Understanding the dog to dog dynamics and my individual relationship with each. She is so patient with both my pups and has done an amazing job of training them and then me. We meet with her every couple of weeks to address behavior issues and she addresses each issue head on. Giving most of her time to the dogs and then to us as a family. I've enjoyed working with Sydney so much I actually recommended her to my parents as they adopted a high-energy, herding breed in a similar way to my rescuing a Great Dane. From day one, Juan provided exceptional customer service. I arrived exactly when I said I would, and the price had suddenly changed. It felt like a classic bait-and-switch. If your pricing changes at a certain time, tell the customer when they're on the phone and saying they are on the way, not after they've already arrived. When I questioned it, the manager was unprofessional and unwilling to honor the price their own staff had quoted me just minutes earlier over the phone. There was no accountability and no attempt to make the situation right. I can easily afford the difference, but that's not the point. I don't appreciate being misled. I told them I was deeply disappointed with how they handled the situation and that I would be leaving an honest review. They didn't seem to care at all. I genuinely feel bad for the owner if this is the level of customer service being provided. The worst part was that my dog was sitting there in pain while we argued over something that should have been simple.I left and went to another veterinary clinic down the street, where my dog was seen within minutes and received excellent care. If a business won't stand behind the price they quote over the phone, it's hard to trust them with anything more important. I imagine their final bill would have been ridiculous. My experience there was so negligent and dismissive that it could have endangered my dog's life. My dog has a collapsing trachea and multiple food allergies. Before she became sick, WCPC seemed fine. But once she needed consistent medical care, everything changed. Their attitude, accuracy, and professionalism declined sharply. Here is what I experienced: * Repeated prescription errors for months -- My dog needs a precise dose of medication to breathe comfortably. For 4-5 months straight, the written prescription was wrong. One month it was incorrect twice in the same day. They consistently prescribed too little medication, which is dangerous for her condition. * Dismissive and irritated staff -- Any time I called to follow up because their suggestions weren't working, they acted annoyed and impatient, even though I was calm and polite. I wasn't calling excessively -- just when my dog was struggling. * Blaming me instead of fixing mistakes -- When I finally expressed concern, they blamed me for requesting pill form instead of liquid, even though I had repeatedly explained that the liquid caused my dog severe pain. They showed no interest in helping me find a safe way to medicate her. * Failure to diagnose her condition -- For months they told me she was "fine," despite clear symptoms. She was later diagnosed with a collapsing trachea, something they overlooked again and again. * Lack of compassion or urgency -- My dog was having trouble breathing and swallowing medication, and they brushed me off. Their attitude was cold, rude, and completely lacking empathy. Their repeated mistakes and refusal to listen could have seriously harmed my dog. The only reason she's okay is because I paid close attention and pushed for answers. They never returned my calls. In my experience, WCPC was careless, dismissive, and unprofessional. I would not trust them with a medically fragile pet.

I had just gotten a new puppy and was a bit nervous and overwhelmed because I had never owned a puppy before so I wasn't sure what to expect. After doing some research, I came across Donna's dog training services. We set up a date to meet and she explained what she'd be able to teach me as the owner to help start my puppy on the path to being a well behaved dog. She worked very well with my crazy energetic 8 week old puppy, and showed she knows how to get any dog under control. I ended up purchasing the 5 session deal because I believed it would be more effective. During those 5 sessions Donna helped me teach my dog all the basic commands such as sit, come, stay as well as crate training and leash walking. Overall it was an excellent experience working with Donna, and would highly recommend her services to anyone looking to train their new puppy or help their adult dog become more well behaved! read more

Natasha Rozhdestvensky was simply amazing with my Maltipoo, Cara. Cara is naturally an overly energetic pup, who loved to chew on shoes. Natasha was so patient, knowledgeable & resourceful. As a new dog owner, she recommended to me some healthy treats that my dog should love. She also recommended a product that would help Cara stop chewing on my Nikes, as well as proper chew toys & bones, instead of my shoes. After 5 weeks of obedience training, Cara exhibited a much calmer and obedient demeanor. Most importantly, she slowly stopped taking my shoes to her bed! Natasha is simply amazing and talented. Donna helped us train our 4 year old Golden Retriever rescue from Turkey. It was especially challenging because the dog was not familiar with the English language. However, Donna was great. She patiently worked with us and taught Charlo to sit, stay, lay down, and come when called. She was especially helpful reducing his excessive barking and leash aggression on daily walks. By the time she was done with the training sessions, we took Charlo to Petco and he behaved admirably. I am so thankful for everything Donna achieved with my pup after just 3 sessions. My pup suffered from severe separation anxiety and couldn't even be alone for 5 minutes without freaking out. Had a great experience with Donna. She helped our Oswin with jumping up on guests and gave us a bunch of other great exercises for building a better doggie/human connection. Now she's working with our other dog Otis on some leash related stuff. I would highly recommend her! read more

Even though I had trained many dogs in the past, Frankie, with his nearly uncontrollable puppy exuberance presented quite a challenge with even teaching him the basic commands. Fortunately, after reading the strong positive reviews on Yelp we brought in Laura Bourhenne to the rescue. We marveled how quickly through positive reinforcement she connected with Frankie and patiently taught us the skilled techniques she uses to train and reinforce the lessons. Most importantly, whatever the command, Laura has emphasized the need to establish a solid understanding with our pup where in he views us as in command and looks to us for direction. Laura is a wonderful, highly skilled trainer and it has been a great pleasure to know we can rely on her to intelligently help us resolve all puppy related issues. The obvious warmth, kindness and adoration for pets was so reassuring, it felt like we were leaving Page with family. Throughout the next 4 days and 3 nights Laura was great about updating us and sending us pictures, and it was clear Page was feeling like she was on vacation too. She even kept up with the commands we've been teaching Page! When we picked her up it was like we never left. Healthy, happy, hyper Page. Believe the reviews!! We would give 10 STARS if we could. I have raised and / or owned springer spaniels for most of my life. I thought I knew a lot about…read moredogs, and particularly loved bird hunting with my own. But every dog is unique, and they all are different in their own ways. My dog Maggie will be 4 years old in September and was raised by a great breeder out of Spokane. But, she had issues, primary of which was a behavioral tendency to resource guard and even bite. At the same time she was affectionate with me and is extremely intelligent. Like I said, I thought I knew some serious stuff about dogs, but I was not reaching her. Sean and Marta at The Good Dog Way did a great job with Maggie, and the change has been almost unbelievable. She has retained all of her good points, and her resource guarding tendencies have almost completely disappeared. Of course, like most of us, I love my dog a lot, and am extraordinarily happy to see that with Sean and Marta's program, Maggie is becoming the best dog she can be! I can't wait to get her in the field again this fall.

My dog came back 10# less than I dropped him off and nearly died after attempting to escape the $750 kennel that they recommended we buy. The only advice I received after getting him home and continuing to have the same issue he went to training for was to crank the e collar to 80-100 and correct him that way. Shockingly, that doesn't work. Avoid them at all costs, he's got lots of fancy posts, but sure can't do anything other than teach a dog place, heel and sit. Just find a real trainer with free vids to do that instead.

We have had the pleasure of using Michael's services for over ten years. We have had 5 dogs and one…read morecat during this period. Michael originally came to us through the vet, because one of our rescues was biting people in the face. We thought we would have to put her down. After working with Michael, she immediately gained confidence and became so eager to please. She is 11 years old now and the best behaved dog anyone could imagine. She is attentive, purposeful, and has never had another incident. Next, Michael helped us prepare our 4 dogs for the birth of our first child. He suggested a baby doll that "cries" to acclimate the dogs and teach them not to get too close. Then, we sent home the hospital shirt to put on the doll and introduce the dogs. They (the dogs) have been my son's protectors since Day One. Michael gave me his time for free over the phone when our kitten was getting itself stuck in trees. And now, we just finished sessions for our (huge) shelter puppy with major separation anxiety. I would never own a pet without Michael's services. I have recommended him to so many friends and strangers. He has a gentle command that animals immediately react to; he is open and generous with his time; and he is a delight to be around. He will really help your experience as a pet parent.

This 6 week trip was the worst- our Airbnb was illegal so we had to move into a hotel during a heatwave where our 3 pups were stuck. With small yorkies or little ones, they can easily have a heatstroke if taken out for 20 min. We then went to a daycare in Thousand Oaks and turned around. We go to a regular daycare in our temp place out of state so I just knew it wasn't safe for my tiny dogs. I fell upon Calabasas Paws Inn and OMG it was next to my hotel - the Hilton Calabasas. Like 30 sec drive. I booked the initial meeting and I was in right away! I have THREE DOGS. You pull up and they come out to the car and here is what you receive: - my texts are answered right away - HAPPY, amazing staff. - quick, responsive and my dogs are eager to go into the daycare - the owner was so helpful when we had to switch our hotel again - they always ALWAYS send photos. We even got a cut in frame photo which we keep in our hotel. - the booking is super easy. - and my dogs ZONK out when they get home I WISH I found this place first. I will always utilize this daycare when we come back every six weeks and when we move back permanently. The place just feels and looks fun and attentive to your dogs. PS- during the 5 hour trial, I booked a nail trim bc my daycare is supposed to do it every 5 weeks and we noticed they were long and curled. Val and the staff actually came out and told me they took care of it and how they did so. I usually would forget which is why their nails were so long.
