I can't say enough amazing things about this company and the people who run it. I've been so hesitant to board my dogs in the past because I was never fully comfortable moving forward. I wanted to be sure that my baby was taken care of the way I take care of her - if not better. Here, the best attention was paid to her, she was exercised, socialized, and given the kind of love i give to her. My pup was so well taken care of. When she was dropped back off to me, she almost didn't want to come home! She had an amazing time on the ranch with Thea and all of her other animals. I also had Thea train her a bit in the couple of days she was with there, and she came back a completely different dog. Thea is very knowledgeable and absolutelt lovely. Thea has watched our dogs for us going back many years. After being dog-free for a while, I have a new puppy and needed her watched while I was out of town. She was still so little, an escape artist, and I couldn't imagine leaving her at a more commercial boarding facility where she'd be sleeping in a kennel at night without a person nearby. She would have been traumatized! Thea was the answer! I knew Thea would take the best care of her, give her personal attention, and it wouldn't feel scary for my pup. I'd get photo updates during the day and my pup got to learn some socialization skills with the dogs who live on the property. Thea was so friendly and responsive to my calls and texts & I highly recommend using her doggy care services. Our dogs boarded for 5 nights, which we booked very last minute and she was able to accept the booking. She collects and drops off the dogs, she was very flexible with our schedule. Absolute excellence. It's been 6 months now, probably about a dozen visits for my 3 yr old husky. Let me just say that the dog I drop off with Thea is the dog that comes back, and sometimes even better, coming back with so much energy and vibrance. I say this after doing two visits each with two local boarding facilities near Malibu. Every time when I would pick her up she would be worn out and would sleep for a day. I initially thought it was great, "oh, wow, she's had so much fun, she's worn out." But then I began to realize how much barking takes place all day at those crowded facilities. She was coming back emotionally exhausted, like she'd been yelled at for two days. The proof of this was when I began seeing how she came back from Thea. That says it all for me. So glad we found Paws on a Path! My dog is very social but, when I leave her at dog daycare facilities (and I've tried at least 4), she does nothing more than sit and stare at the door. There was little human interaction and even less play with other dogs. And, by the time I get her home, she needs a long run from lack of exercise and overwhelming separation anxiety. Not exactly helpful after a long day at work... Bring on Paws on a Path! For the same price as a day at camp, my Australian Shepherd goes on an hour-long hike or beach romp, which makes her (and me) far happier! She's tired and content on long days that I have to be away. My dog gets the break she needs and some time to socialize with a small group of canines too. Thea and her team of helpers are highly recommended! read more

Not only does Thea and her team take my sweet 2-year-old golden retriever on the best hikes, but her home has become one of my dogs' favorite places to stay. I went out of town for nearly a month over Christmas and boarded my pup with Thea. Not only did I know that my dog was in great hands, but Thea made a point to text me nearly every day with pictures and updates of my dog. My dog, Hope, was clearly over the moon with excitement to be living out all her farm life dreams. On Christmas, Thea even sent me the sweetest picture of Hope comfy inside, on the couch, wearing a little Christmas hat. If there's one thing I know for sure, it's that Paws On A Path is by far the best place around to go for boarding and dog walking. Now, whenever I have to leave home and can't bring my dog, I feel so much better knowing that Hope will be going to her favorite place with one of her favorite people! I transported "El Nino" (the family maltese/yorkie) to Malibu & dropped him him off in their care. These guys are the BEST! They are amazing, and have done so much for me in the very short 8 months or so that I've used them so far. They faithfully walk my dog, Thea sent text messages after every walk telling me how she did. They also clean the cat box, give kitten love, and give our pups treats after every walk. They even helped me out when I was in a serious jam and went into the hospital unexpectedly. They doubled the walks for my pups at a moment's notice. They are extremely responsive to questions, and also turned me on to a great new place to buy pet food! They know EVERYONE in the pet community. Love these guys! read more

She'll send us picture messages via text with updates on our boxer, Lola, while we're away. We have been searching for a Pet Sitter we could trust for a very long time. We have tried many and most of them would leave us unsatisfied. We are picky and want things done a particular way sometimes. So we need someone who has attention to detail, a respect for our needs, along with a loving heart for animals. Love itself does not make a good pet sitter. Our buddy Gemma (see her review also) referred Thea to us this past December. Thea accommodated our last minute request for Christmas which was super. She came over to meet us and our pet children (a few cats and a dog). She listened and cared and impressed us. She did a wonderful job while we were away and kept us informed of how things were going. We were finally able to relax (and not worry) during our trip. We felt completely confident that our babies were being cared for as requested (as close to what it would be like if we were there ourselves). We also were able to book a January trip and all was great then too. Thea is reliable and professional and we (as well as our furry little friends) are grateful we found her. It's no exaggeration that dogs are family, & like parents of newborns, we are often overprotective & nervous about so many things that may bring them harm. I was so afraid of leaving my Moby that my first weekend away turned into 1 night with our next-door neighbor. We both lived to tell the tale, but I knew I'd be living the life of a hermit if I didn't find another option. So when my boyfriend eventually wanted to go on vacation... Enter Paws on a Path. I had a GREAT feeling about Thea when I met her--she shared how she'd grown up in rural England w/a life full of dogs, horses, rodents, & all types of country critters--you can't feign the kind of sincere caring and quite vast animal knowledge she has. The bond she has with her own dogs is truly something as well (& amazingly not at all neurotic like myself/most of LA). My detailed instruction list went on embarrassingly long, but was met with not only a serious & thorough review, but with some questions I wouldn't have thought to cover. We had a trial run with the vehicle he'd be in--I appreciated that SO much. I started to feel like I might actually be able to leave my baby for a few days. He was picked up before dawn the day I left... & by the time I got seated on the plane, I was in tears--riddled with guilt over how scared my poor, rescued pup must be. And just as I went to turn my phone off, I got a text photo of my "poor" dog... running against the sunrise... with the biggest damn smile a dog could possible have. It was then, and with every update after, that I realized I wasn't the only one on vacation... Moby was having the time of his life!! He didn't have TIME to miss me with how active she kept him! It made me rethink how much time I spent outside with him, & have increased that time a lot after seeing him so happy. And not only was EVERY detail of my long request sheet met, this is something that truly sealed the deal that my baby was in the BEST possible care: the updates I received were, although succinct, very obviously entirely HONEST. i was told when he had experienced some trepidation & a note about his eating... details that someone wouldn't know without observing carefully. Knowing that I wasn't just being told he was ok, but was actually receiving a a very true update... that meant the world to me. It put my mind at ease so much, that I was in just the right frame of mind for what happened on my trip... and I came home to OUR dog, engaged. I cannot possibly recommend Thea & her terrific team at Paws on a Path more. Moby has an extended family "pack"... & my honeymoon won't be booked without knowing he'll be "at home" with them. read more
