What a wonderful place to be! If only they had a similar place for humans...oh wait - they DO! Actual resorts! One of my colleagues first told me about this place as she has a boxer and she shares that her dog just absolutely thrives at the resort. I have a pit bull mix terrier and I thought I'd give it a shot! Cageless? Lots of places for my puppy to roam? Yes sign us up please! I brought my pup for an evaluation, got to learn more about the resort, toured the facility and then brought her back for another evaluation cause #separationanxiety. Her not me! I watched her on the webcams (so many!) and she did great! Lots of shade options for her and lots of pups for her to be around. It was nice to see her socialize! She passed and I felt really great about her experience. Upon arrival and departure, all very secure. The team was great and I can't wait to see how she does after her first overnight experience. Hey there, I'm leaving this reluctantly bc I was hopeful in having read a lot of positive Google reviews but alas, I can say my dog seems to have had a similarly negative experience to some others. Just as a precurser - I have the sweetest little guy, very submissive, has never even bitten the vet during hard visits etc. I just think if you have a shy or smaller dog maybe this can help. I brought leo in for the temperament test and mandatory daycare, I was told he did amazing, greeted every dog and human. I brought him in a week later (yesteeday) for daycare and noted on the checkin, it was his first official day. When I came to pick him up, they brought out the wrong dog to me. I said that's not my leo and brushed it off bc sure, mixups can happen I guess? They brought leo out and the staff seemed concerned. He asked if it was his first time ever in daycare. I said no, he used to be boarded in cage free two weekends a month in Nashville due to my work schedule and loved the place we took him to (we miss it!). He asked if it was his first day at Paradise - which, as a staff I would think they would know this right? Why is he asking me this after his first official day when I'm picking him up? I just said yes and he told me oh well he was in the corner alone a lot. He said he wasn't social. I asked if he was with other small dogs like him bc he loves playing with small dogs, can be scared of big dogs at first. He told me he was with small dogs. Then he said Leo tried to bite him and his other staff member and he had to use their other leash method to grab him. Which, this seems insane to me, I'm not gonna lie. Leo is the most submissive shy boy, he has never tried to bite anyone. He just wants love and affection. I just think they have so many dogs and their facility doesn't really have the staff to dog ratio to go over and maybe introduce your dog to another dog or ease them in. That's the impression I got which is fine, just probably should be aware if your dog may need that or affection from humans. Not a fit for us, we will just go to a smaller cage free environment. read more

This was well overdue update. We had a great experience all in all. I'm going to list what we liked. 1. All the office staff are wonderful as are many of the handlers / supervisors 2. Midhi the trainer is incredible! What he did and continued to do after our pups were boarded was worth every penny. 3. Outdoor cage free environment 4. Kennel free overnight 5. Live video link 6. Responsiveness of the staff This was a great alternative to a typical dog boarding facility but there are some trade off to enable them to board these dogs in a pack environment. In our case that meant our dogs mostly wore prong collars during the day. This was necessary as our dogs are typical juvenile golden doodles and had a tendency to rile up the pack and be overly playful. I had no problem with the prong collar, as our dogs were there for training too, the only issue was how badly matted their necks became because of it. Wearing a prong collar all day and no brushing once it's removed meant that we had to have our female dog's neck shaved once we got home. PRPR do provide bath and grooming at the owners request and we did a mid point bath and day of pick up bath but they were not properly dried and Bea was still matted. Grooming is not their specialty (or it wasn't in Jan during our stay) There are regular dogs who get to sleep in the same room as the overnight staff, my dogs were never selected for that and that made me a bit sad for them because they LOVE human company. I am incredibly grateful for one of the female overnight staff who stayed in the same room as my pups a number of nights. I know that brought them comfort. This was our first time leaving them so I was obsessive when watching the live stream, whenever I noticed something (such as them being separated at night) I could call and the staff would immediately correct it. They were incredibly responsive. Lastly I want to shout out the training, this has changed our lives and our relationship with our dogs. Before PRPR, walking our dogs was not enjoyable, not only has the training that they received at PRPR changed that but the continued sessions with Midhi after we collected our dogs helped us work on recall, taught us how to use an e collar and essentially we now have two dogs that we can confidently allow off leash. This is a huge accomplishment when I tell you that we couldn't walk our dogs on a leash prior to their stay at PRPR. In short, most of us would rather not board our dogs but when it's necessary I wouldn't hesitate to use PRPR again. read more

I've known about Paradise Ranch for 30 years and many friends board their dogs here and love it! This year we got our fourth Boxer pup. (We've had 9 dogs over our lives) We traveled when he was 6 months old and my adult children watched him. Anytime their eyes were off him he began destroying things in the house. I knew for our next trip that I would be boarding him at Paradise ranch. We enrolled him in their "board and train" program last week when we traveled. He had suddenly become extremely reactive during our walks. He, an 80 pound dog, started to pull and relentlessly, almost throwing us to the ground. We picked him up just 3 days ago, and the difference was astounding! Today I met with Midhi, the trainer, who walked me through working with our dog. He is very friendly and did a terrific job explaining how I should be working with our dog. It is truly a joy to see the progress made in just a week! We walked our pup around the block and he was healing perfectly! There were even noises that he would have reacted to which hardly phased him! Regarding the boarding, I am truly grateful and impressed by the entire staff and the attention to detail! Our dog is a very distracted eater and the staff contacted me as soon as they saw our dog wasn't eating enough. They immediately offered to put him in a room with someone to feed him! It made all the difference! (They even said they would hand feed if necessary!) It was a comfort to know that they not only weighed our dog when he first got there, but were also monitoring his food intake. I will be recommending Paradise Ranch to everyone! read more

I've been bringing my dog here for a few years now (large breed) though not that often (few times a year). I'd like to start off by saying overall it's a pretty decent place. Most of their employees are nice, caring, and knowledgeable. I think given this generality and the high premium you pay for it, I would give 4 stars. What drove me to this review and the reason for three stars is that for the third time my dog has returned home with giardia. The company sent an email confirming cases of giardia and/or canine cough while my dog was already there. Their email also states "While we maintain rigorous cleaning protocols and take preventative measures, it's important to understand that certain contagious illnesses such as Giardia and Canine Cough can still occur in group dog settings--just like a child might catch a cold at school." I watch their cleaning protocols through their camera, and while they do have some, there is so much room for improvement. They don't even have a questionnaire on their entry forms regarding the condition of dogs entering the facility. All to say, the percentage of times my dog has come to this facility and contracted Giardia is both preventable and highly disappointing. For what it's worth, the convenience of this location and my fingers crossed my dog doesn't get sick brings me back. I just wish they did better in this regard. read more

I have tried almost every day care out there and honestly this is BY FAR the best day care out there in So Cal. I live in West Hollywood and make the commute because I truly want the best for my dog. Dogs should be outdoors and not confined. There are also multiple play areas, which I love about this place. This place does not put dogs in cages at any point of the day, which I like as well because why even place them in day care at that point? My dog truly gets excited when we enter through to the gate and I love their system of having someone there outside in a separate gated area to pick up/drop off your dog, without having to go to the office (unless you need to). Its a quick drop off/pick up and is truly a Disneyland for the dogs. Also, I was away for a weekend and left my dog with them for boarding for three days. I wasn't worried for a second during my trip and they updated me with some pictures showing how much fun she was having. If you want the best for your dog, seriously look no further. This place is the BEST. Midhi, the manager, and Jamie have been AMAZING and I can't thank them enough for everything. I feel so good at work knowing my dog is in the best hands and having so much fun as well. In my opinion, there is no place out there that remotely compares to this day care. What a gem for board & train! I looked at 3 places and none even compared to Paradise. From the moment I did the tour, I knew my puppy would be in excellent hands.The office staff were helpful and kind. Shoutout Serenity and Sheri. As a new pup owner I had never left my dog and had many questions. They patiently explained the process. Firstly, the 24/7 cameras throughout the oasis provided incredible peace of mind. The grounds are gorgeous and landscaped like a resort. My dog hadn't really been around a lot of dogs so I was excited for him to get the socialization within a controlled environment. It really felt like canine summer camp. The night staff deserves a special shout-out for their attentiveness. On one occasion, I called in with a concern about an incident I saw with my pup and another dog. They immediately handled it WHILE I WAS ON THE PHONE. I was able to watch on the app in real time. They displayed the utmost professionalism and care. It's evident they genuinely love and understand animals. I thought it was so sweet to see staff sleeping in some of the rooms with the pups at night. Even saw one of the girls give my Biscuit a bedtime hug and it totally eased my mind from 2500+ miles away. Moreover, the training programs offered at Paradise Pet Resort are stellar. My dog came back not only happy but also better behaved! The trainers clearly have a knack for understanding each pet's unique needs and tailoring their approach accordingly. The private lesson to train me at pickup was so helpful. Overall, Paradise Pet Resort exceeded my expectations on every front. Paradise Ranch Pet Resort is an amazing place to send your dog. The staff is incredible, they are extremely helpful if you have any questions while your pet is staying at the resort. We loved to watch our 1 1/2 year old Labradoodle, Rosie through their 20 plus cameras while we were traveling. One day we were a little concerned that she was not playing with other dogs so we called. The staff knew which dog and why. They said she was an absorber and liked to watch other dogs. They told us she did not eat at first but was eating fine now. We were amazed that they had a chart on her and it was all share with us so clearly. During her stay we also paid for her to go through a training session with Mihdi. He is so kind and gentle with the dogs. Rosie loved him and obeyed him so well and of course we were challenged to keep up the standards he gave us. We even sent her in a second time for training and it went very well has expected. Mihdi, gave us more tips and helped us with solutions on how to deal with our over active Rosie. She is 2 years old now and is very trained. She knows all her commands but as Mihdi says it is all left up to us to show her that we are in charge. I highly recommended this Pet Resort for boarding and training. One of the best decisions I've ever made. I purchased the 21 day board & train with my 8 month puppy. Before she would pull on the leash, zig zag, had zero boundaries with people and dogs, and she actually got rejected from dog daycare which left me with the hard decision to either surrender or do board & train. I called the resort and they were very kind, informative and willing to help. They made it so easy for me and when my dog passed her free trial day, they gave me so much hope. 3 weeks without my dog was tough but the training offers 1 weekly 1:1 session with the trainer (his name is Mihdi) to see their progress and also coach the owners. I found it really helpful and comforting. The first week I saw so much progress in my dog, I cried happy tears. She was walking by the side without pulling, she knew that the humans were in charge, and she was happy. My dog didn't lose her spark, she's now more polished and behaves so well. Everyone is impressed and taken back by how much she's grown and matured. She no longer jumps, pulls or disobeys. She listens clearly and it's reduced my stress so much. I love being able to take a walk with her without worry. With the 21 day bundle, you get unlimited 1:1 training and I find it super helpful considering I have a busy schedule. I appreciate how Mihdi makes time for the owners! He has also been doing this for decades and it shows. He educates me and walks me through everything so I have a clear understanding of the training tools. He worked magic in just 1 week with my dog. I'm very grateful! We love Paradise Ranch and we love our dog trainer Midhi! Our rescue puppy stayed for training and boarding and came back a new dog! He now walks on a leash (too strong for me before) and he listens to commands. A total change from the crazy spaz that went in that first day. He adores this place too! I've boarded my 2 German shepherds at Paradise Ranch Pet Resort many times. I appreciate the ability to check in on them while traveling international..and believe me, I have done so at different hours of the night and seeing them safe and in good hands has given me peace while traveling. :) The handlers have always been great with my dogs (Angel has always been a favorite of theirs), and have earned their trust...plus I love the ground rotations, which keeps the dogs from getting bored. Emerald had a fantastic time! First time boarding so I was a bit worried, being able to watch the cameras and see her playing was great on vacation and family members with dogs boarded in other locations were jealous of that privilege. During her evaluation days temps were 100-110 so dogs were strictly kept inside. During her boarding week temps were 70-90 and I saw them using the "water park" daily. I'm glad they keep the dogs inside in the AC when the temperature gets extreme but it seems like this location/area (Burbank) can get unreasonably hot and that affects whether they let the dogs out to play in the expensive "water park". They just don't understand dogs here. I tried to board my 25lbs Jack Russell terrier earlier this year and so went in for an evaluation interview. While we watched the initiation video, our dog was taken back to the ranch area for max 2 minutes. We were then told that he was suffering from separation anxiety and so wouldn't be a good fit. He was there for 2 mins and barked! That was literally it. We begged for the 'trainer' to try him again as the previous experience was too short. Whose dog doesn't bark in a new environment? We explained he's a very chilled dog and generally doesn't bark at all. Eventually the trainer agreed, took him back and our dog was much better but by this time we'd lost confidence in the place and especially the people working there - they just don't understand dogs. read more

The follow up meetings are important, Mihdi taught us how to reinforce what she learned at home and practiced with us. I recently had to board my 5 month old puppy because I got covid aboard and couldn't come back to the US and my bf had to travel for work. I was so extremely worried about her having to board somewhere so young because it would be her first time away from us. I searched all over yelp and found Paradise Ranch. I AM SO THANKFUL I did. My BF took her in for a temperament test and had her come to daycare before we boarded her to make sure she knew her environment. Although I wasn't there in the flesh, I was able to watch her have fun all the way over in Barcelona. I cannot say enough good things about this place. The staff--amazing and so caring The area--so fun and clean Overnight stay-- the pups get to sleep in a true home environment. These pups are never caged and sometimes some of the trainers sleep with them #love We would come back more often for daycare but its 40 mins from our place. I really like Paradise Ranch for my dog Buster. The ranch is a cageless environment with several outdoor play areas for dogs of all types. All the staff I have met are gentle and dog lovers. Dropped in for a temperament test before boarding. They will not let you observe your dog in the enclosure whatsoever. The workers are instructed to treat your dog like they are subordinate...which is fine aside from they were not friendly to my dog. My dog apparently snapped at a worker which is very out of character and a first for him. I apologized and inquired as to what happened and the worker acknowledged he cornered by dog in the yard away from other dogs. They then proceeded to taunt me and my dog when we left saying "yeah get that dog out of here" etc. Horrible experience. They even told me I could come back and try again but dogs should never feel like they have to defend themselves. 1 star for a nice looking facility but I'd rather have a mediocre facility with lovely people. read more

Our dog, Ash, has been going here for over a year now and it's been the best for our family. I love the fact that it is off-leash, outdoor/indoor, cage-free with 24/7 cameras so that there is reassurance as a dog mommy. Learned about this amazing "pet resort" from our neighbor who also sends her dog here, after we adopt our puppy. The availability is great. The staff are very friendly. We did the board and train and helped training our pup a lot. She is excited every time we drop her off. We can also watch her via the cameras all over the facility. The price is reasonable, more expensive during summer though. Not sure about the water park, never seen her in actual water nor have her come back home wet. Pups need to be updated on vaccines and fixed. read more

We are so grateful to Paradise Ranch! I don't know where to begin! We have a 1-year-old hyperactive Golden Retriever who has been kicked out of another daycare for not being "Perfect." My husband and I travel a lot, I really wanted a place where I felt comfortable leaving him knowing he would get great care. I did not want my dog to be scolded for just being a dog. I was always receiving phone calls about his behavior. "He was humping, he was chasing, he was instigating". I was surprised that I didn't get a phone call that said, "he was breathing!" I got tired of the complaints about him. I also got tired of them throwing him in a crate when he was being bad. We worked so hard with him so he would feel comfortable in his "House" and now this was being used as a form of punishment. He went back to screaming bloody murder in his crate. Exhausted by all of this, we sent him away to another boot camp and while they were able to improve his walking on a leash skills, his biggest problem seemed to still be there, the way he plays with other dogs and his behavior when he sees them. This place costs us a fortune. So, I went on Google, I honestly was just about to give up when I saw "Paradise Ranch.' I read the reviews, I watched the videos, and I did my research, just like you are doing now. This place seemed too good to be true. We made an appointment. From the moment we went through the gates, I knew that this was going to be his place. Upon arrival, they take your dog and put him with other dogs to asset his behavior, you watch a video about what they accomplish at P.R. and what to expect And then you meet Mihdi! We decided that we were going to do a board and train with P.R. It was the best decision I have ever made with our dog. I'm so bummed we didn't know about this place before we dropped a small "Havard tuition" on him. While I was away, I was able to watch their cameras and able to see him playing with other dogs, having a blast, and being taught the proper etiquette. It looked like so much fun, I was waiting to see if he would show up in a hula skirt with a tropical drink in his paws. I went to pick him up and Mihdi did our morning training before we left. Our boy is different and he did not run into the house and start harassing our other dog when we got home. It's incredible! I'm so proud of the work he did and what Midhi did with him. He now has his home away from home, where I know they are going to care for him and he's going to have a ball. If you have any hesitation about sending your pup here, do not! THIS IS THE PLACE! I love this place. We have 2 dogs and when we have to board the pups, this is always our first call. The facility is over the top awesome. No cages, the dogs get to roam around freely. They seem to get grouped by size. There are several areas that each group of dogs move to. There is always a human with the dogs, day and night. At night the dogs sleep in rooms on couches and beds. The best part is there are cameras everywhere. You can scroll through the cameras and see what your dogs are doing. Outside during the day, inside at night, you can always see them. They also offer training, and grooming. When we pick up the pups they are groomed and ready to come home. They sleep for a sold 2 days once they get home because they are exhausted from playing for a couple of days. read more

Midhi is an awesome dog trainer! He helped us with our 6 month old standard poodle named Hammy (about 45 pounds now). We wanted Midhi's help to correct Hammy's leash pulling and jumping on people when he gets excited. After just 1 hour private session with Midhi, I learned the tools to get Hammy to heel and stop jumping on people. The session was so good that I booked another private one hour session for Midhi to work with my kids (ages 13 and 11). Now, Hammy is perfectly heeling whenever he is walking with any of us, including my kids. It is so enjoyable to go on a walk with him now. He has stopped jumping on people as well and our friends have noticed the difference when they visit. Midhi knows what he is doing, and he wants to impart his knowledge onto you, and wants both you and your dog to succeed together. We have 3 dogs, and have been successful in implementing the tools we learned during our session with Hammy. It's amazing that only after 2 sessions with Midhi, we feel so much more educated and confident about working with our dogs. This place is Disneyland for dogs. I have taken my furry child here for about 3 years. The staff have consistently been so awesome and welcoming every time we arrive here. My dog always gets excited when we park inside and ready to head on in. I usually leave my dog for the entire day and once it is pick up time, she crashes in the car. Job well done Paradise. If you have never been here before and are considering leaving your fur baby either for day care or boarding, you will be required to bring an update vaccine list which they enforce, and for good reason. They will also conduct a temperament test on your dog if its their first time to make sure that it is a good fit. I am absolutely on board with those protocols. They care about my dogs experience and make sure that all of the dogs there are well suited to be within their facility. Another great perk is that they have a camera system so you can check in on your dog. I find myself logging in throughout the day and I always get excited when I see my dog through the camera having a great time. Wonderful experience all across! read more

Not long after we got our dog we were wondering if we'd made a huge mistake. He hated the leash, pulled us all over the place, consumed entire (!) socks, pushed our kids around, and of course - used our house as a giant toilet. It was a disaster. Paradise Ranch completely transformed our impossibly naughty dog into the best pet ever. To be fair to the dog, they also turned us into far better dog-parents by training us, too. Our dog LOVED the Ranch and the people there. So did we! We feel like we now have friends in the training biz because we can call on them with questions as time passes. It's been a few weeks since he's been home and he is a pleasure on walks, loves on the kids, and has only had one accident (and it was totally our fault for not letting him out on schedule, to be fair.) He also patiently sits next to the kids when they eat meals instead of jumping on the table to steal their food before running for the hills like he used to. We cannot recommend this place enough!
