A little bit of a belated review here, but we had Donna groom our older dog Indy for around two years. We felt due to his age, size, and some health problems that he was feeling overwhelmed at a regular grooming place, so we sought out a mobile groomer. Donna was always very communicative, on time, and SO incredibly kind to us and Indy. We were so grateful to her for being so patient and kind to him in his last year or two of life. Naturally a "private" grooming situation is going to be a little more expensive, and she was definitely worth the additional cost for the comfort to our dog and convenience. I was quite nervous for my 9 month old puppy's first groom, she is so friendly but does not like loud noises or her nails being trimmed. She took such good care of Remi, took time to ask me about how exactly I wanted her cut, (she is an English Springer Spaniel) and did an absolutely wonderful job. My poor 16-y-o cat, who is long-haired and has always taken wonderful care of her coat, suddenly started developing mats a few months ago, and she did not like it when I tried to comb her. She is very, very sensitive, and I didn't want to traumatize her by taking her somewhere to be groomed or by doing it myself (she made it very clear she did not like me doing that). So, I tried Donna, who was booked up but fit us in when someone cancelled. I literally sat on my deck, chatting with a friend, looking down on Donna's van, while Donna tended to her...I could see through the van window how she was being taken care of, and I was so glad. An hour or so later, Geraldine was ready to come back to the house, beautifully groomed. It was all so painless, and Donna was so gentle and kind, and she got it that Geraldine is old and sensitive, so she handled my girl with care. Pricey and worth every penny. I'm so, so glad Donna could take care of my beloved Geraldine without taking her far from home. I'll book her again the moment Geraldine needs hair care! read more

We've used Donna for about 2 years now. We have a long haired cat, and we needed help in keeping his hind-end shaved, and his nails clipped. Donna is in her own mobile grooming vehicle, so the first thing I noticed was how good she was at keeping us informed of when she would arrive, given Bay Area traffic. I am so thankful I was able to find Donna and her mobile pet grooming service. My rescue cat, Sasha, came from an abusive home and was surrendered to SF Animal Control (wtf?) where she spent over five months before we rescued her. Even after a year of love and care in our home, I still cannot pick Sasha up- which makes grooming her impossible. She was covered in horrible mats that were causing her pain and stress and there was nothing I could do. Donna came to our home and was amazing with Sasha (who had to be sedated). Donna is caring and careful and gained our trust completely. She knows what she's doing and gave us the service we so desperately needed. I paid her $75 to bathe and groom my 7 pound Toy Maltese dog. I gave her a picture of my dog after a previous grooming to show how I wanted her cut. She did not follow any of my instructions, and my dog looks nothing like she did after the grooming in the photo. She looked like she had used a clipper on her, and her fur is so short now, there is nothing to get a hold of. She insisted that I pay her in advance, and would have charged an extra $20 if I hadn't allowed her to plug her tools into my power outlet (she arrives at your residence in her mobile van). This additional fee is not noted on her flyer. All in all, this was an unsatifying transaction, and I would not use nor recommend her services again. read more

Donna groomed both of our dogs, one of which is the size of a pony. Her calm energy put both me, the mommy,and the fur kids at ease. She was gracious in listening to my specific requests, and delivered the results we had hoped for. Our larger one doesn't like his nails/pads worked on, and she was able to not only get it done, but did a very thorough job. Donna is truly a God-send. Sadly & unexpectedly, I lost my dear husband last fall. Tommy was the "Cat Whisperer" & did all the grooming for our two high-maintenance cats, Bella & Lilly. For four months I did nothing. Bella's claws grew so long they curled under. Lilly, who is overweight and cannot clean herself well, was just a mess. I brushed her and used wipes but she needed far more attention, the kind my husband gave her regularly. We've had Bella 13 years and Lilly for 7. Both cats hate each other and cannot be in the same room unsupervised without fighting. It has been stressful without my husband, to say the least. I finally got it together and searched for a mobile groomer, since both cats become hysterical when placed in carriers and taken on car rides. I found Donna's Pet Grooming and read all the great 5-star reviews on yelp. I left her a message and she called back within the hour. She was booked for several months out (I can see why she is in such demand) but she offered to come by after hours and clip both cats claws, and let me know if she had a cancelation for full services. Lucky for me, Donna did have a cancelation a few nights later and she came to visit us in her "petmobtile". She is so nice and kind, I felt connected to her instantly. I completely trusted her to carry both cats out to her van to avoid having to stress them out in the carriers, even though I shudder to think of them getting loose outside. I knew Donna wouldn't let them go and she didn't. She let me stay inside the van to help comfort my hysterical cats, which I really appreciated. Donna did a wonderful job bathing them, clipping their nails, brushing and drying them, all while both cats howled (they are both Big Babies). She also cleaned Lilly's behind, which she can no longer reach, and trimmed and sanitized the area to make it easier for me to keep clean until her next visit. Strangely, this part did not seem to bother Lilly, I think it was a huge relief for her. Donna is like an Angel for Animals, and for their People too. I am so thankful to know Donna and to be able to receive her kind, experienced and highly qualified skills for my beloved kitties. She is indeed an awesome woman. Donna is a kind soul and goes out of her way to service any animal. I think before anyone comments they should really think on how they rate this awesome woman. My dog was dying and she came just in time to help me save my dog. She delivers quality and all the best to any pet. She thinks about the best outcome of the pet not the cost. She delivers quality and the best. It takes different folks for different strokes but don't write bad reviews without thinking on how fortunate anyone is to care for a pet. Because times are tough and time is limited. This woman is an angel to care for pets. I read some of the posts and think about how you would feel getting a bad rating? No such thing as perfection and we all get better the more we do things in life. Its opportunity and look at what you learn along the way.
