The main reason why this place got a 4 out of me was for its convenience, and fair prices. During my senior year of high school, I would have school from 8:50-12:30. The lady would let me drop my yorkie off at 8:30, go to school, and then let me pick her up at 12:30. She did an excellent job trimming her. My special request was to trim around her eyes to prevent the long strands from going inter her eyes, the owner did it perfectly. She didn't completely shave it off like other groomers do. Best of all, the price was more than reasonable! $22!!!! Shampoo, trim, sanitary cut, and inner pad trimmings for only $22! That's unheard of! However, like the review below me, there is hair everywhere. Many dogs that come here are overly fluffy, and when she cuts them, they have just been conditioned. My only suggestion would be to fix up the store, and find a way to keep the hair contained. But, she does beautiful work, and that makes up for the store. read more

Christina is amazing. I can't say enough wonderful things about her. Her grooming skills on my Westie, Max and my Springer are always beyond my hopes. I cannot find another groomer in my area that comes close to the job she does in my dogs. I only wish she was closer. Snuffy and i Love love love this place!! My dog is a little over 9 years old and he has been coming here his entire life!! I've lived everywhere around the bay area (San francisco to Brentwood) and have tried out MANY!! No one does a better job safely cutting and trimming my dog so I always find myself dropping snuffy off no matter how far I have to travel!! Christine always knows how to make my bichon look as cute as the day I got him. Nails trimmed properly (even the thumb nail part), head hair cut WAY down (groomers play some twisted game w/ bichon's head hair), ears trimmed short, evenly shaved body, and cleanly plucked ear hair (4 out of 5 groomers in the past left a bloodly infected canal days after him being groomed!) A big plus is that his hair is cut so well that even when it grows out, it still looks like he has been perfectly groomed!!! The only downside is the appointment situation. I think Christine is doing a one woman show so it may take a bit for her to call u back or to schedule an appointment...busybusy folks! But do it... you will be so relieved to find this place! read more

I had been told great reviews about this place and decided to take my dog there to be groomer/trimmed. He was stuck there all day long sitting in a tiny kennel for some unknown reason. I am not pleased in the slightest with the outcome of his trim, his hair looks terrible and his face was trimmed so short. But while she was shaving his belly she got too close to the skin and he has since had an irritation for the past couple days. He had to be taken to the vet yesterday in order to get antibiotics to correct the rash. After $200 in vet bills, it is save to say he will NOT be coming back. read more

I love K9 Klipper and Kristina! She trims my goldens beautifully and also my sister-in-law's two Norwich terriers. And her goldens are always friendly greeters. This is hard work and she does it mostly single-handedly. We hope she never retires! :-) read more

I didn't get my dog groomed here because the woman said she had no availability with the holidays coming up. She seemed annoyed that I even stopped in to ask about grooming....so I'm giving 2 stars for poor customer service. We love taking Lucky to Kristina and the crew! The people there are friendly and Lucky always looks so wonderful when I pick her up! Poor Lucky had been COMPLETELY SHAVED when she stayed with some other people and I thought we would never have her coat looking good again! I couldn't have been more wrong. Even with the horrible hack job they had to work with, Kristina made Lucky look wonderful again in no time! I take her once a month and she is happy to hang there with other "friends"! My dog has NEVER been kenneled and doesn't mind her cubby in the slightest. They are very careful and kind with all of the dogs there that I have seen. You will be pleased! read more

I have taken my dog (12 lb havanese) to K-9 Klipper numerous times, and have overall been very happy about her grooming job, and she is not ever stuck there for the entire day, which has happened at other groomers. One of the women that works there (I think the owner..?) Has raised and showed golden retrievers, so they are good with grooming their coats as well. The downside is that it's very difficult to make an appointment, but if you get into the habit of making your next appointment every time you go in, then it makes it a lot easier. The only real problem I have had with this place is the condition of the building. It's really dirty. There is dog hair EVERYWHERE, ontop of cabinents in layers that appear 4 inches thick, on walls, on the floor, and just in general the building is not very well kept. Becasue of this I have been taking my dog elsewhere lately, which is dissaointing because k-9 Klipper is so convenient and they really do take great care of your dogs. If their building was kept cleaner, I'm sure I as well as numerous other customers would be more eager to use their service. read more

I really want to like this place. She does a great job grooming my Golden Retriever and at a very good price. The problem is that no one answers the phone or returns calls. I have to drive about 40 minutes and then hang out in Moraga while waiting for my dog to be groomed. I've had to leave several messages before receiving a return call and this last time never did hear back. Dog needed grooming so I had to go elsewhere. Maybe they don't need more business? read more

Everytime I go to this place, the workers always give an attitude and are too rough with dogs. Very disrespectful and horrible customer service. They also never answer their phone! Will always make an excuse to just shave your dog because they don't want to take the time to REALLY groom them. Do not like this place at all. I live in Moraga and drive out to Walnut Creek now because of how bad k-9 klipper is. read more

We have been using Christina for over 20 years, first for our Westie who passed many years ago, then our sweet Yorkie (4 pounds) (who at 14 years old passed last year) and our sweet Maltese now 15 years old. Christina was the only groomer that I could find who "hand cut" our little Yorkie and not SHAVE her like other groomers. She would always cut/trim her little face perfectly. Christina still takes care of our sweet Maltese who looks perfect after being groomed. Yes, her little shop sometimes has hair all over but she is the only person grooming, washing, etc. our little pets. Plus, our pets are only there for 3-4 hours maximum not all day like other shops and she only takes a few dogs/cats at a time. She gets overbooked so be patient to have your calls returned plus she works "Sundays" which is nice for those who work full-time during the week and running errands on Saturdays. Christina also owns Golden Retrievers that are show dogs and has earned plenty of ribbons. read more

There are much better dog grooming areas near by. I would recommend Pampered Paws in Lafayette as they at least seem to pick up their phone.

I've been taking my 2 little guys (Lady and Angel) there for years. I got 'em after they'd been abandoned in a barn, and were found 2 weeks later. On their first visit, it's likely that they'd never seen a groomer. However, they came back looking quite spiffy. And we go back every couple months (when I remember) and I've not been unhappy with the results. In fact, I just made an appt, and found this when looking for the phone #. I assume that within a couple days, they'll get a trim and be much more presentable. Thanks guys. read more

i was taking my golden retriever to a place in Alamo where I had gone for many years. My new pup was very anxious about the place. One day I arrived early to find the two men painfully holding her down and yelling at her to trim her feet. She had trim marks on her forehead once before and now I knew why. Kristina was recommended to me by a breeder and I called and explain our dog's experience. She worked with Stella very slowly and introduced the equipment piece by piece, letting her smell everything before it touched her. Stella is now comfortable with being groomed. Kristina both breeds and shows dogs. She is a real lover of animal. I don't care about the extra hair around the shop. She is GOOD to my dog. Not all groomers are good to the animals. K9 Klippers is the best. read more

Love this place. We have 3 Australian Shepherds who need alot of TLC in terms of grooming. She does a wonderful job of cleaning them up and removing all of their tangles and excess hair. And best of all, I think her prices are very fair. read more

Very unimpressed with this place and the women behind the counter. I would give it one star, but that would not be fair because I ended up not taking my dog here. I read about the amazing reviews on yelp, and decided to stop in last week and check the place out. I opened the door and the stench of wet dog was so overwhelming that I wanted to walk out immediately. Obviously dog grooming facilities aren't going to smell like roses, but it smelled horrific and looked extremely unkempt. I was very friendly and smiling, and asked the women behind the counter how much it would be for a doggy cut. The woman did not say hi back and says with an attitude "if I'm taking new clients that is" And then proceeded to tell me if she was taking new clients it would be 60 something for a cut. Her rude demeanor was so off putting I just left. That's a great price for grooming but I will not take my dogs there just because this woman was so rude and unfriendly. I highly suggest she take some courses in good customer service because she lost a potential client, and I am sure she will lose more with that attitude. read more
