Alex finished our basement in our new home. Initially Alex responded quickly to my inquiry and immediately set up a time to come and give a free estimate. However, once we hired him, he started to not communicate and/or take days to respond. We didn't have a timeline, but it's worth mentioning that he told us that the project would be done in 8-10 days once started, but it actually took about 3 months. He gave an initial start date, but ended up pushing that back a couple of weeks, with no explanation as to why. There were days that his workers would come late, or not at all, and near the end, no one showed up for an entire week. But again, because we didn't have a timeline, it wasn't a big deal to us. But, I think it's something to consider if you do indeed have a strict timeline for a project to be done. With all of that being said, however, Alex did very high quality work, and was the only contractor who worked with our relatively small budget. He even went above and beyond with little touches. During the process, we had two friends come over who are inspectors, and they both separately commented on how nice the basement seemed to be coming along. Alex and his employees did all of the work themselves except for the carpet, for which he contracted with someone who he explained was one of the best in the state for carpet. Other than his lack of communication (which is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5), Alex was very plesant to work with. We were very happy with how it turned out in the end.

Weather permitted, he never showed, never communicated, replied to texts or anything. Basically ghosted customers who spent 38k. And it's been months now.
