Overall a good place for a decent lunch. Got the hamburger steak and it was good! Came with one patty and two scoops of rice so not a huge portion. Overall a good place in a pinch...

Tried their hot plate lunch here recently and loved the value of the 2 meat 2 side plate lunch. They give you a good amount of food. Kalua pig and cabbage tasted like the cafeteria kind--just okay. I got their beef stew though and it was amazing. Maybe one of the best beef stews I've had. I really loved it. I'd come back if I'm in need of a quick bite to eat. They also offer some tables inside to sit down and eat.

Good price for the amount of food.

Saturday special , pork chops with mushroom gravy. I was so impressed by the size of the pork chop. I got mash potatoes and toss salad with gravy on the side. The chop was very meaty and tender, really delicious. The mash was cooked perfectly the way I like it. The gravy was a bit too salty for me only because I rarely add salt but there was a good amount of mushrooms. I feel for the amount of food I got it was worth what I paid. Have to add that the lady serving the food did an excellent job. I will definitely go there again.

Wow, Times - major props on this upgrade! I've been shopping here since moving to Ewa Beach 10 years ago, and it's always been my favorite spot for groceries. Times beats both Foodland and Safeway, hands down, especially on pricing. With these new upgrades and revamp of merchandise, I'm really impressed. A lot of the items I used to drive all the way to Marukai for are now just a few minutes from home. Sure, Don Quijote in Waipahu still has a bigger selection, but Times is stepping up their game on premium items, for sure. This weekend, I was FLOORED to find fresh Hokkaido Uni and Otoro in their new sushi section. My wife had to samps, you know, purely for "research purposes." Her verdict? It was just as good as what we had the night before at Imanas Tei in town. If we can snag that level of sushi at a supermarket up the road? Game. Changer. Not only would that make her sushi cravings easier to handle, but we'd save a small fortune in the process. For me, I've got my eye on the Takoyaki in the hot section and maybe a bento or two, and let's throw in a crepe cake for good measure! Haha! Oh, and shoutout to the poke department - pretty solid every time. The workers there, and the staff overall, are always friendly and helpful, which makes shopping at Times an even better experience. With the addition of more Japanese cuisine, I'm guessing we'll be stopping by even more often. Now, about that restroom situation.... Times, please. It's been the same since I started coming here, and let me tell you - that's not a compliment. The other day, I went to open the bathroom stall door, and because the hinges are total trash, the door swung open like a wrecking ball and slammed into the next stall. I'm pretty sure I gave the poor woman in there a heart attack - or, you know, expedited the reason she was in there in the first place. LOL!! I apologized (awkwardly), but honestly, that's a YOU problem, Times. Let's add "bathroom renovation" to the to-do list. Please and thank you! Hahaha haiyaaah.. Still, restroom drama aside, this is my go-to spot and will stay that way. Keep up the great work, Times! :)

Saw a news segment on tv that Times has rebranded their Kunia store to Don Pen Times. My wife and I wanted to see what's new in the store. The biggest difference is they added a larger Oriental section. Similar to the Tokyo Central store that they own in Kailua. Enjoy

Huge store. A mix of groceries both local and international. Love the large Asian selection of food and snacks. Still got the poke station which I love. Times has very good poke!! Delicious!! They also have a section with lots of sushi choices. Very cold in the store. Bring a jacket!! Large parking area but it was so busy the lot was almost full!!

Haha already ate 2. Closer view

First time finally checking the place out and only bought this sushi. Walked around for a bit to check everything out. It wasn't busy. Plan to check the place out again when I need items or food. It's good to have since DQ waipahu closed. Place was clean and still felt the DQ and Times presence.

Smaller version of Don quixote but if you're in the area it doesn't hurt to stop by. Their wagyu skewer is bombbbbb and they have a lot of poke and sushi options! PS it is very cold inside.

10/10 recommend!! Their sushi selection is as fresh as they look!! So Ono! Love their salmon nigiri and sashimi!! The convenience of shopping for groceries and having a spot to have fresh sushi is a win win!!

Check out www.TimesSupermarkets.com for the location's plate lunch menu items.

I will have to say that being here at 5 AM with nobody in the building but myself and probably a few associates, made it extremely cold? Or am I just not used to AC anymore? It was actually unbearably cold that I had to leave after sometime because I was getting so uncomfortable, it hurt. But then again, this is someone who used to live in Texas and needed to always have a 66° AC to someone who now lives in a space with absolutely no AC. So take this with a grain of salt. This is probably my favorite Safeway I've ever been to and I've been to several in the country during my travels. It's a shame that I only started checking in seriously this year! I highly recommend this location for good finds and for being very well organized. It makes me want to shop more. I also found some fun items in their international section that I've never seen before. I will obviously be back!

Red Ribbon has been replaced by Bakers Avenue. They still have their meat, seafood, produce and poke departments. I love that they have fresh seafood lying all around on ice. Their prices are higher than what I'm used to seeing. They have live blue crab for $14.99 a pound. I know other places where I can get it for $8.99 a pound. I still would have purchased some, since I was there. However, all the crabs were dead. Never buy dead crabs as bacteria multiplies as soon as they die that turns into toxins. Cooking them will not get rid of the toxins. Live Dungeness crab was $38.99 a pound and live lobster was $37.99 a pound. Their shellfish are priced high. The produce was fresh and colorful. We saw mangoes that were $3.99 each. I bought a whole box of the same mangoes yesterday for $8.99 at another store. Needless to say that I left empty handed.

I have 2 favorites -- Tuesday & Thursday.   I eat it practically every week and you'd never guess when you see it! Tuesday is the BBQ Bowl -- You get ypur choice of meat, rice, and a side (banchan). I always get the smoke meat with pickled onion on rice. The smoked meat has plenty smoked taste, just enough fat, and it's not tough (you know what I mean).  The pickled onion is the perfect compliment!   Love the bite and the vinegar taste -- cuts though and brings it all together!   They give you quite a bit in the bowl.  Definitely enough to make me smile!    Again ---- $6.00!!!!! Thursday is another winner in my book.   It's noodle day!!!  I used to get the Mega which had everything in it.   It was a special that they had at the beginning but it's been discontinued.  I think the only one I'm not too crazy about is the curry.   I know some like it -- but having watery curry with noodles is just not me.   The rest are pretty good.   They warm up the noodles right there and add all the goodies on top.  It's take out so they give you the hot broth in another container ---- perfect so your noodles don't get soggy!   I think it's a great 'buy and eat later' meal! I think the only negative is that sometimes the parking lot is very, very full.  If you go early it's not too bad.    The rest of the days they have kalua pig burrito, nachos, and the $6/lb food bar Friday.   With all the prices on everything going UP, UP, UP, it's so nice that we can have a good and satisfying meal for $6.00.    Thank you Foodland -- Food, Family, and Friends!!!

**This is ONLY for the young men working on 9/10 at 7 PM in the curbside pickup order section.**…read more My mom set up a pickup order for me because this was the only Walmart that had the diaper brand I like. I don't have a Walmart account, so I didn't have to open one just to pick up my diapers. This was my first time doing curbside pickup, but the instructions aren't exactly rocket science. I park, press the button that says I've arrived, and wait. My baby was crying in the back. He had been crying since we left the house, so I made him a bottle. I was sitting there waiting when I realized I had gotten there at 6:45 and had already been sitting for 15 minutes without seeing a single curbside employee walking around. More cars started pulling into the parking lot. One, two, three, four... It seemed like everything was happening pretty quickly, but in reality, it was already 7:10. At this point, I was upset from waiting, and I had a crying baby who just wanted to get out of his car seat. I gave him his bottle, but my plan was to grab the order, drive off, and maybe walk around Walmart or somewhere else afterward. More cars parked. More time passed. By 7:20, I was tired, and I saw someone park in the curbside area and walk inside, so I decided to do the same. I grabbed my baby and walked in HOT. I went to the curbside area and said, "Excuse me," into the area so the people on the opposite side of the room could hear me without me having to yell or deal with an echo. Up walks a kid who looked like he was either in high school or around my younger brother's age. When I saw that I went back to my senses mentally but I still let him know I had been waiting outside since 6:45, that my son was upset, and he could probably tell that I was too. I may not have been big a dramatic for someone to pull out their phone and record me, and I definitely am still a work in progress, but this young man was honestly better than me. He had the BEST customer service. He apologized, asked if I had checked in, and when I told him yes--and that there were eight other cars waiting outside--he immediately got to work. He helped me swiftly, directed his other coworkers (who all looked around the same age) to go check on the other customers outside, and apologized for something that was clearly **not his fault**. From what I could tell, it seemed like the system itself was the issue, not these employees. So I really want to applaud these young men, Walmart, and whoever raised and/or trained them. They were such a breath of fresh air. They took accountability for a mistake that wasn't theirs, treated me with kindness even when I was clearly frustrated, and immediately tried to fix the situation. To the young men working curbside on 9/10 at 7 PM: thank you. You handled that situation better than I did, and I genuinely appreciate you.
