We have replaced all of our original appliances at Don's Appliances in Canonsburg and we've always been happy with our purchases and warranty service repairs. I always wondered why the overall rating was between 2.5 and 3. Now I know why. We recently purchased a clothes dryer at Don's. After receiving it we realized that this particular model was not going to work for us. According to the return policy "The Product Does Not Meet Your Needs. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return the product within 7 days of receiving it." In a contradictory statement at the end of the policy it states "Cannot return product because it is not to your liking." Why else would you not be satisfied with a purchase other than it is not to your liking? It also says that "Any product that has been installed or attempted to be installed cannot be returned." How else can you tell if a product meets your needs or is not to your liking without trying it? At this point it appears that I am stuck with this unit. Do not trust this company . Use to be great now not at all. We purchased a pizza oven from them a little over a year ago . We loved it for a few uses then it broke . We asked for a replacement part and they would not even sell it to us . They said we had to take it in to be repaired so we drove it out to them to repair it ... after months and months they said sorry they can't repair it . They told us we had to contact the maker of the pizza oven which is Gozney . We did they took months and months to get back to us . In the mean time we contacted Dons again multiple times they said yeah Gozney is a terrible company ... sorry about your luck. They said Gozney is the one that has to give you the refund even though I paid Dons. Gozney said after more months and months that they can't give us a refund Dons has to. Now they are sending us on a wild goose chance between both company's and no one is willing to help. They also still have our broken pizza oven . So now they have stolen our product and our money and refuse to fix anything . As a business owner myself I am appalled by their lack of care to make this right with their client . We got a brand new refrigerator on 1/31/2025 which is completely broken. Ruined all the food in both refrigerator and freezer. They finally sent a technician out on 2/11/25 to access it, and we were told that it needed a whole new mother board which they needed to order. We were then told that they would not be able to come back an service it for another week. They feel it is acceptable to leave us without a refrigerator for over three weeks? When I said that I paid for a brand new refrigerator and want this broken one replace immediately below is the reponse I recevied. Why would I ever order from them again! "Federal Law requires that the buyer allow us the opportunity to make necessary repairs to the appliance. Replacement will only be allowed under the terms of the Manufacturers warranty. purchased dishwasher on line. Delivery was free and within 3 days. The appliance was nicked when uncrating it. The installers were to report it to the store. They did not. They 1st offered me $50.00, next day, increased to 84.00, next day it was a hundred dollars. I have yet to see the credit on my card. I have tried calling them 3 x to sort this out, sales person never called me. Spoke with another sales person, who told me i was credited 84, not 100. Did not say when this happened. Was put on hold, then disconnected, with no return call. Lack of communication was disappointing, and rude. I never received any paper work on delivery, no manual or copy of receipt. Had to call requesting manual. sent me email so I could print 50 pages. Told them I wanted a hard copy. Next day was delivered to wrong house. Perhaps this was an exceptional case, but it has been a learning experience, one I will not make again. ! read more

We made the mistake of buying from DON'S APPLIANCES. They are the worst company, we have ever dealt with. They do not have any business ethics or any human decency. SMELLING SMOKE and RUBBER from a MICROWAVE OVEN is a SAFETY ISSUE! PERIOD! According to the lies from WHIRLPOOL they replace the item accordingly. But instead. they script ALL their employees to do that and go through the long arduous, torture of verifying, clarifying, endlessly and then sending two teenage boys to retrieve the microwave. These boys could not even lift the microwave from the wall themselves. My husband had to help them. My throat is still affected by the microwave fumes. Our issue is still not resolved. All this duress over being a trusting customer!!! All this stress and damage they will do to people over a 200-dollar microwave!!! I suggest people demand better ethics for our hard-earned dollars. Our appliance tech told us yesterday that our washer needed a new motherboard and was not worth repairing . We visited Dons appliances this morning ( Saturday ) to look at a replacement . At Dons we met Quinn Walters. After Quinn questioned us to determine what we wanted in a washer he showed us an LG unit that perfectly fit our needs and was also on sale. Before going to Don's I did no online research and told Quinn that I was relying on his expertise as to what to buy. He whole heartedly recommended the LG unit. My wife happened to be speaking with a friend today who also recently purchased a new washer. She purchased the same LG that we did. Our friend had done tons of research and said it was the best machine on the market . Our washer is in stock and being delivered to us Monday . Don's has an excellent reputation in Pittsburgh and I wholeheartedly recommend that you talk to Quinn if you need any appliances five stars ! I wanted to add that the two Dons techs who delivered the washer did a great job They carefully measured all doorways and did a professional installation ! Purchased a GE front load washer and dryer, set it up and the dryer light didn't come on. I called the next day and was told someone would call. That evening entangled in a throw blanket was a long metal rod from the dryer. So I called back the next day to also report that and to say no one has called from the first call. I went to Don's Appliance for a washer/dryer stacked unit in the Upper St Clair store. They were very accommodating and helped me decide what to choose. The prices were reasonable and they have stock so I could have my initial the next day. I needed service for my install and David in service was great. He was friendly, knowledgeable and did a great job. This was the first time I used Don's and I will definitely be back for other appliances. Ordered a microwave from them early September, I have called several times to check on the order. After several attempts finally received a call back saying they didn't place the order but they would rush it as much as they could and I should have it early November. It is mid November and I have called them 3 times in the last week with everyone promising to call back but no return call. I almost used them for all of our appliance but the sales person seemed sketchy when I went in so I ended up ordering from Bridgeville (thank goodness) but Don's was the distributor for Elmira so here I wait. If you would like good customer service (i.e. return phone calls) - go somewhere else. My rating would be no stars, but I'm forced to put a rating in order to leave a review. We went to the Canonsburg location this evening, June 15th around 6:15pm, looking to completely replace all the appliances in our kitchen which could have resulted in a large sale for Don's Appliances. Please note, we are in the middle of a kitchen remodel and Don's was recommended to us by our kitchen designer. However, we weren't even acknowledged at any point of us being in the store. There were two employees helping other families and while we of course didn't expect the employees to drop what they were doing, they didn't even look at us. It was actually very rude. One of the employees walked away from his customers to begin putting together pricing at the desk we were standing next to. Could have been a prime chance for a "Hi guys, one of us will be right with you," or "is there anything in particular you are looking for that I direct you to while I finish up with this family?". But instead we got nothing, not even a glance. Needless to say we will not be going back. If their employees can't be bothered with us, we can't be bothered with them. We are happy to take our business elsewhere! Steer clear of this place!!! My suggestion would be to review your store video for the date and time noted above and use this as a training opportunity for your staff. read more

Bought $11,000 + of Kitchen appliances from Don's. Most are Jenn-Air Product. The Refrigerator has had major service twice. The wall oven has had the master board replaced once, the 30" induction cooktop has had a replacement of the master board once and is currently non functional for the same problem. The last repair lasted less than a month. The Air switch for the Garbage Disposal was replaced with in three months of install, according to them this item never breaks. Contacted Don's about excessive service during the first break down of the induction cook top, was referred to a Don's sales rep that would attempt to get an extended warranty. After the first call this person was never heard from again. Monday this week went into the Don's store in Canonsburg, the induction cook top is not functional again for the same error code as first service, repair lasted less than 2 months. Was referred to another salesman that handles excessive service, different than the extended warranty guy first referred to, promised to process with Jenn - Air replacement of all items. He would hear back in 1-3 business days and text me the response. 2 days after suspense and no contact. Was asked by this individual not to process work order for service. So not only did he not respond as he offered, I have non functional cook top that will require two service calls to fix. Hopefully the fix will last more than two months. Bottom line I should have realized something was wrong when I did not receive the rebate amount as promised by salesman. The service department does excellent work, but does not respond to email service requests in 2 hours as stated last time it took 2 days. The sales staff is aggressive presale, but the support with problems post sale with product manufacturer is non existent. I would never recommend Jenn-Air products to anyone. Finally, I would not recommend Don's, the follow up after sale is not what you expect. The primary reason we went to Don's was support a local business and we had bad post purchase experience with a big box store. Figured I would get better from Don's. Should have saved the money at the big box. read more

I called regarding an appointment for oven repair. The cost of both the house visit & labor were laid out to me on the phone. Then Rebecca Noel asked a couple 'troubleshooting' questions AND gave me the option of ordering the heater element to be delivered to our home & suggested You Tube videos so that we could possibly repair the oven ourselves. Ordered the part which arrived the next day & my spouse successfully repaired our oven, THANKS Rebecca... will definitely keep this business in mind for future appliance needs! read more

They will not give us our money back or a discount on another unit after we spent about $100 picking it up and installing. The repair person told us they never should have sold the unit. Stear clear of this place! At first our experience with the canonsburg location was great. We worked with Maria. She helped us pick out 4 LG appliances. She made sure we knew all the " smart features" and why these appliances would make our lives easier. We upgraded our drive and microwave... little did I know that we would not be sold a Self Cleaning over! First of all, we went through all the main features and upgraded as we saw fit and to fit with our lives. We were never Ever told that the oven was a "easy clean" nor self cleaning... I thought self cleaning was standard. I also really valued the knowledge and expertise Don's had. I have family and friends that recommended us here.. WRONG! I found out 7 months last that the easy clean option is it. Once I had sometime to research and try numerous times the easy clean option, I figured out that this would never clean it self not even help. I spend hours cleaning it with a HUGE mess. I called the store to ask the sales person to help maybe I missed something. We later find out that I was not sold a self cleaning oven... the manager calls me later to offer me 2 options. 1. A 4 year extended warranty on 2 of my 4 appliances. I said that this wasn't an option and what option 2 was... well this is when he told me that there isn't much he can do because it's 7 months old. I totally get it but I didn't get around until now( mom of 2 and I work). He told me that as a consumer it's my responsibility to understand what I'm buying bc I signed off on them when I purchased them. Excuse me but this is an important feature that should have been pointed out. I had no problem paying a few hundred dollars for a self clean!!!!! He then told me that we would have to agree to disagree how these were sold to me.... then I asked what the 2nd option would be... he said he would need to get back to me in 24-48 business hours. But probably not much. I asked can you work with LG and he said no. They don't want a used oven either! I'm very frustrated by this point and told him if he couldn't do anything that I wouldn't be buying one more thing from dons... he then says, " then why would I do anything now" wow! I definitely didn't feel valued at all after spending a lot of money on these amazing appliances which were suppose to be smart appliances.... yea an oven that doesn't clean itself??! 8 days later and not one word or call back! Last May I purchased a washer and dryer online. I paid online with my debit card and received a payment confirmation immediately, which was accurate. Upon having my order delivered I found out that my card was charged twice. So i ended up paying double what i should have been charged. This total of $800 ended up being $1600. Upon discovery i contacted the finance department to dispute the charge. The receptionist answered and laughed, stating people get double charged all the time. I told her that this was unacceptable, and that i demanded a refund on the charge. She said it could be quite sometime. Now it will soon be two years! This is an unacceptable and unprofessional business practice! If action is not taken to resolve this soon, i will be taking legal action. read more

Over the past several months we have had a very bad experience with Don's Appliance repair service. We purchased a very expensive full kitchen appliance package from them several years ago. The Miele Speed Oven stopped functioning and we requested a repair from Don's. The service personnel showed up and ordered the wrong parts and then after a long waiting period came back but could not lift the microwave and then another service call was arranged and someone else came who could lift it and thought they repaired it but found a different problem and then another service call was arranged weeks later and the new service person declared that there was a hole burned in it and it could not be repaired and no one before him had noticed it. He said we would not be charged for the parts they had ordered mistakenly and we probably would need a new one and that Don's would call us. After 2 weeks no one called and we called them and they said that they had contacted Miele but had not heard back and could do nothing until they heard from Miele. It has now been 4-5 months since it malfunction and we have no Speed oven in our kitchen and Don's Appliance has no definite plan for getting us back into operation.
