Now for the taste of everything holy cow Batman it's off the wall GOOD. We got 2 whole sandwiches & got a one child sandwich for FREE. So again well worth the money that is for sure. If you get 2 full sandwiches I believe you can get more than 2 free sandwiches for kids & chips & ice cream come with the kids meal. I told my daughter who has never been here that the sandwiches were HUGE well she didn't believe me because when she got her sandwich she was shocked & didn't know how she was going to eat it. She got the Don & I got the Riverwalk Reuben & my grandson got the turkey. Our bellies were full beyond what you could imagine. The staff were great as well as the owner. The best deli meat you can ever eat if you never had boar's head before. My family and I had a wonderful experience at Don's Deli. They were very kind and accommodating for our one year old and two year old (even giving them free sandwiches and offering them ice cream)! As for the food, it was fantastic! I got The New Yorker with provolone and my wife got The Conway. Absolutely delicious. Unlike most deli's in the area (especially the chains), Don's doesn't go light on the meat. If you come hungry, you'll leave satisfied. Been wanting to try this deli that gets a lot of attention from deli loving people. Arrived right at noon on a weekday to see what kind of foot traffic they would be getting. Was a little bit surprised by how the inside was set up. Large room with plenty of 4-6 person low end tables. Nothing fancy anywhere. The focus is 100% on the sandwich menu and not the deli case in the back of the restaurant that only featured whole cooked deli roasts. They seemed to have many desserts that were appealing but I passed. I ordered a Reuben with potato salad and bowl of clam chowder soup. I asked if the soup was made in house and was told no it's from the meat purveyor but you will enjoy it. He was right it was tasty soup. Crowds started to filter into the space and it was full by the time my sandwich arrived. The Reuben was good definitely above average. Your sandwich order comes with a drink and I appreciated the self service soda kiosk. If I had a critique it is only that I wish they carried a selection of Italian deli meats. read more

I came across this hidden gem while running errands. If anyone loves Dagwood's, but hates the travel, especially during the spring and summer months, Don's Deli sandwiches are comparable to D@gwoods. An absolute ridiculous amount of meat! You can literally make TWO more sandwiches out of one! LOL I like that Don's Deli slices your meat as it is ordered and they only use Boars Head! A HUGE plus for me! I can't wait to try all of their desserts, but I did enjoy the Limoncello! THAT compared to a five star restaurant's Limoncello in the Myrtle Beach area! They have a nice selection of soups. I got the Broccoli Cheddar, which was wonderful....but I really can't wait to try the Tomato Basil soup when they have it. When you walk into the place. You don't see lunch meats and side salads. You see a sea of cakes. The cannoli is wonderful. The shells are crisp the way they should be. The cannoli isn't too sweet. I really enjoy them. There's a blueberry cake with mascarpone cheese that is to die for! Everything is displayed beautifully. The sandwiches are huge. I was disappointed with my corned beef the last time I was there. It was grisly and for the price, that should not be. Also I ordered a pint of pasta salad, $12.99. I almost died. So beware of the prices because its not cheap. I am happy the cannoli is only $6 but its too expensive for me to go often and thats too bad. read more

Wife and I went to Don's Deli tonight for dinner. This is a second time. The first, we grabbed sandwiches on our way to Darlington for the race. The sandwiches were awesome, but by the time we went home, later the night, I forgot to do a review. Plus let's hold off in case they were good but it was an exception. Nope, not an exception. The wife had chicken salad on wheat, and I the New Yorker on marble rye. For sides we had one potato salad and one Cole slaw. Everything was on point. They give you a very large amount of meat, reminds me of the delis in NY and NJ. The sandwiches have tons of flavor and the ingredients taste to be high quality. The cole slaw is sweet, kinda reminds me of KFC back in the day. The potato salad is yellow mustard heavy, but very good. The total was $30 and change. But neither of us feel that the price was unreasonable. The food and service was very good. We will be back. read more

Kept reading good things about Don's Deli so my husband and I set out to find this location and try their sandwiches. Even though it was a small ride for us, we were very surprised and happy with our choices. My husband had " The New Yorker" and I had the " Riverwalk Reuben" . What we didn't realize that we had our choices of breads and that the sandwiches came out warm, so our plan of bringing them back home to eat, we were encouraged by Don himself who came to us and suggested we eat them right there so that the bread would not get soggy and the meat was still warm. Don even said to help ourselves to some soda for our sandwiches. I took some pictures but as the sandwiches were so large, you can't really tell and the tastes were so good. I've been following the Facebook page of this new place and all the food looked so good. We ordered The New Yorker, split it because I've noticed the portion sizes in pictures. And the clam chowder. Don is the man. Such a sweet sweet man and the food is big and delicious. Love the variety of cheesecakes that he offers.

Based on the great reviews, we gave Don's Deli a shot. As others have said, the owner is very personable along with awesome counter staff too. We were surprised to learn Don's doesn't have any homemade, fresh deli products, but do carry Boar's Head, an excellent brand. Sandwiches are large, and easily sufficient for two. The reason for the three stars rather than five is the Black Forest ham & cheese sandwich was very, very dry. Was the ham old? We don't know but after only a few bites, we wound up throwing out the rest. The chili is also a Boar's Head brand. It wasn't bad, but definitely needed some tomatoes and sauce added when we got home along with a couple of dashes of cayenne pepper to make it much better. read more

We had heard great things about this place and finally had the opportunity to try it for ourselves. Well let me tell you right now, There is no reason for any other sandwich shop to exist! We shared the Conway and it was more than enough for two! The Boars Head cold cuts are fresh and plentiful. The potato salad was delicious made with a yellow Mayo base. As a long time lover of the Ruben I was skeptical of paying $17.00 for a sandwich. Now that I have experience Don's Deli in Conway SC I will gladly open my wallet again. Their product ( meat and bread ) was to a standard I have not seen since my time in Cleveland. The staff was beyond pleasant and overly appreciative of a sandwich lover. I had no idea that rye bread could handle so much weight. This visit exceeded all of my expectations. I normally am not one to push people towards an establishment but this is one I will happily support. I appreciate the old school deli ways and I shall gain many pounds during my visits. Give them a try and see for yourself. My next visit will contain a Ruben and something from their diabetic selection ( cakes and sweets ). That is a journey I am truly looking forward to.
