This was one of the most horrible experiences I have had in my life, I had unexpected lost of my loved one, grieving late into the evening, I turned to Don's Florist & Gifts of Charlottesville Virginia, to express The Family love with an All White Casket Spray. Don's Florist & Gifts promised as shown on their website bloomed white Lilies ,roses & carnations in this Casket Spray for the funeral.. What I received was an embarrassment, & totally unacceptable. The white lilies & roses were not open, the Spray looked mostly green. I called to express my disappointment to the owner Brad. in the conversation there was no compassion whatsoever, only that I was already give a 10% military discount and he could give me another 25% off.. Let me be clear a military discount is not given its " Earned.. I paid a total of $134.95 f only have the owner to agree it was not correct. please see the picture below from left ( sentiments of Serenity Spray website) to right (what was delivered to Funeral Home.. Flowers were delivered a day late with no explanation even though owner assured me the flowers were on the truck and would be delivered that day. When I called owner with my concern, Brad was very defensive and offered ridiculous explanation that driver knocked on door and no one answered so they didn't deliver flowers. If someone is upstairs in large house, they probably won't hear knock at the door. I knew recipient was home, so why didn't driver ring doorbell and call recipient to say he was at front door with flowers? Isn't that standard delivery protocol? Driver drove back without delivering and had to return next day. If this story is even really true. Owner wasn't apologetic, had lots of excuses and didn't care that I was rightfully unhappy. I am very satisfied with the products and professional services from Don's Florist and Gifts.  Most recently, I ordered the Teleflora Lavender Tribute Collection for my dear mother's Celebration of Life. The collection consisted of six (6) hand-made sympathy pieces, which was a display of an impressive array of sprays, vases, and  a large basket filled with the most beautiful healthy and quality flowers I have ever seen. I highly commend Lisa, the floral designer for doing a superb job. The entire collection was delivered on time and intact. Don's Florist & Gift is the best. As a UVA student, I wanted to get flowers for my girlfriend for Valentine's Day, and Don's was very convenient. I went in and ordered some flowers, and the staff was super friendly and helped me pick out the perfect flower and vase for my girlfriend, which was also affordable! They were accommodating and on time, and even when I had to delay my pick up by a couple of days, they did it right away without hesitation. When I finally went to pick up my flowers, they were sitting right on the counter waiting for me, and again, the staff was friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend them! I just sent some flowers to a friend and I was disappointed with what they sent. (My friend sent me a photo of the bouquet she received.) I ordered the "In love with Lime Bouquet" and paid the $10 upgrade for the deluxe version. In the photo on the website it showed 6 lilies, 5 roses, some carnations and some green things I don't know the name of. From what I could tell from the photo of my bouquet- it had 2 lilies and 2 roses, more carnations and more greens. I think they kind of cheaped out on my order. I would suggest trying another florist. I don't think these guys are amazing. read more

Very disappointed. While the floral displays were lovely for my Father-in-law memorial service, they were delivered after the service was started. When called on it, they said they ran into traffic. We had called them twice the day before to confirm delivery time and were informed that they would deliver at 1:30 which was 30 minutes before the service. We told them that would not work at all and they said they would change it to 12. Which they did not, because 1:30 delivery was still printed on the delivery card. When they delivered they set the flowers outside and left. This is a stressful and difficult time for the family. To have flowers that were ordered with special significance to the family not delivered in time, I don't know how they stay in business. This was a small order and fortunately there were flowers ordered by the church to decorate the gathering area so we used theses. But can you imagine if this was a wedding? I ordered an arrangement from From You Flowers and they ordered them from Don's Florist. I ordered a deluxe purple arrangement with a Happy Birthday balloon. They delivered a VERY small pink arrangement and a Thinking of you balloon. It was pitiful. I called and complained and they sent another VERY small mostly white with a little purple arrangement. If this florist didn't have the supplies to fill this order correctly or satisfactorily, it shouldn't accept the order. Very disappointed. read more

I got a call from someone at Don's Florist to make sure someone would be home since they didn't want to leave it on the doorstep. They were polite and considerate, and the flowers were beautiful. Awful! I wouldn't even give them one star. Had a large order delivered for an event. Was given much smaller succulent plants then was expected in a plastic pot then put in terra cotta pot. They didn't even have the decency to pot them. I called to explain what an embarrassment they were as our center piece and was told they could not do anything about. My son (stationed in Afghanistan) sent me an arrangement for my birthday. It was delivered on the correct day -Friday- by a friendly driver. The flowers were beautiful.
