The worst experience I've ever had with a flower shop.... I placed an order online and the flowers were intended to be delivered same day. They were not and I didn't receive any communication for the lack of delivery. When I called to check with the store about the status of the flowers not delivered as expected, the man I spoke with was dismissive and rude. He told me it wasn't "his fault the online ordering didn't go through their system." He then canceled my order when I expressed my frustration as a customer. VERY poor customer service. I will certainly not be ordering from this place again and I would recommend avoiding this business. read more

The bouquet didn't look anything like the photo on the web site, was missing two types of flowers that were described on the site, and was incredibly overpriced for the size of it. I emailed the owner and received a very snippy unapologetic reply, that blamed me for ordering a birthday bouquet on the day of. When ordering, I selected the option not to substitute if items were unavailable, but rather to call me, and substitutions were made without consulting me, in addition to the outright omissions. read more

Anytime I need something special, Randall never disappoints. He remembers me and my wife and I consider him to be an Artist (capital A). Friendly and attentive as he suggests some of the most recent treasures available in The Flower Shop, he arranges so that my wife can carry them home from work to enjoy at home. The cut chocolate and purple orchids he sent over for our anniversary brought stunned gasps of delight from everyone who saw them - they lasted for nearly a month! I ordered an all lily special, but called to ask if they could mix the colors. He was rude and condescending. " well, m'am, I don't know why you ordered this when you can see in the picture it's all one lily" Changed my order to designer, sad Id like a tall wildflower effect, he said we don't have any, and then told me he couldn't put lillies in because he didn't want to break up a bunch. ?? He acted like I was wasting his time, and he was obviously busy getting ready and he's "not really open yet. " Am a business owner and would never talk to customers this way. No suggestions? Most florists would tell you what type of flowers they could put in an arrangement they are making for you. He was obviously annoyed by me, and his bullishness made me flustered and indecisive. read more

I am saddened I even gave business to this shop in the first place. The owner was extremely rude and had choice words with me over the phone when I explained how he delivered the wrong flowers - to a young girl whose mother passed away. He proceeded to say on the phone, "I could care less about what that young girl.." He stopped mid sentence, most likely knowing the rude sentence he was about to say. I only wanted to receive some sort of compensation for the sending of their incorrect flowers that I spent $200 on for flowers - which is VERY expensive. Great customer service! I live across the country and wanted to send my mother some flowers for her birthday. The Flower Shop delivered a beautiful bouquet to her, and were completely accommodating of my request to make sure the flowers were delivered within a specific time frame when my mother would be at her place of work to receive them. (I couldn't tell from their website if they delivered out to the Crozet area, but they do!) I was delighted with both the flowers and the professional, local service. Tried to send a Christmas gift but they didn't write down 80% of my order, including the part where we discussed a specific arrangement on their website and named many specific flowers. When I boyfriend texted me a photo, I was shocked. I was so sure there was a mistake in the delivery that I called to inform them. The owner read back to me the notes from my call and apparently the employee did not write down most of my order including the name of the arrangement I referenced. Owner apologized and told me to ask for him next time, but I'm still so embarrassed by what was sent... I think I'd rather try somewhere else next time. read more

I'm updating my review because I was just complimented for this review by a fellow Yelper and coincidentally, two days ago was actually my 20th wedding anniversary, so I called Randall, who was very excited about some huge orchids he was just unwrapping (5" across). When I reminded him how beautiful the last arrangement was, he asked what I was looking for this time. I replied "BOOM!" I admire that he maintains his enthusiasm and artful approach. When this large arrangement in stunning black glass was delivered to my wife's medical office (she's an R.N.), a doctor commented: "Nobody can keep up with your husband". Randall recommended a way for her to transport it in her car to our home where it takes up most of the dining room table. We had a guest yesterday who was awestruck to see it. read more

Very disappointed! Sent in an order- paid for it all long distance - online because no one answered the phone after many try's. Today I get an email (not a call- which is what the website states they will do if there is a problem) that they canceled my order! Usually would not have seen the email until after work. I checked because it was already supposed to have been delivered and my son said it had not arrived. Wow! When I call - the owner says he didn't want to bother me by calling me???? My parents ordered some flowers from this store and they were not what they ordered and they checked the box saying no alternatives. They were never contacted to say they couldn't deliver what was ordered and this is the second time this has happened. The flowers also started dying 2days after delivery. We tried to use this flower"shop" for a wedding - after finding them on Google maps and looking at their Web site we were much impressed. But...Much to our disappointment - we drove to this flower "shops" address to look at flowers and try to talk to someone...... it's a house not a flower "shop" -we called the number on line -thinking maybe the address was wrong - nope- they don't actually have a flower "shop" they only do online orders from places like flowers.com and other online florist services. They don't have a place You can't actually go in and look at flower freshness and or arrangements. You just have to trust a photo on their website,wich in most cases I'm sure they are lovely , but not when you want to make sure in person they are fresh and may want them a certin way in your arrangement. Apparently... after talking to the person on the phone... the address listed is just to promote Google rankings and listing.... guess we should have checked Yelp First....lol Not recomended if your are actually looking for a florist and a face to face conection in Charlottesville but again I'm sure their great at delivery as that's what they do!! read more

And by the way, they were sent by me :) She has been going through a bit of a rough breakup, so I did what a big cuz does. I ordered flowers for my wife with the flower shop. The gentleman on the phone was friendly and polite, and helped me with my order. The flowers were beautiful and she was very happy with them for 2 days, and then they died. She checked the water level, and the water was several inches below where the stems of the flowers ended. I'm sure that much water didn't evaporate within 2 days in 30 degree weather kept indoors. Very disappointed that the beautiful flowers are sagging and dead. read more

If you order from their website, you won't get any confirmation sent to you. If you call to confirm your order, you will speak to a flustered clerk who will repeat everything you say to the owner. She will then repeat everything he says back to you while they discuss what a confirmation is. Then the owner will get on and you will have to explain why you're calling again. Helpful, on time, and beautiful! April 28th, my father's birthday, I sent him a potted plant and a cake :) I'm in Texas, I ordered online the night before on a Sunday. I called to confirm Monday morning and it was in progress! The plant I originally ordered was apparently a common funeral fern. Yikes. So they substituted it for a more masculine plant my dad would love. The bakery they work with, Pearl's, made a red velvet cake that morning & they delivered both to him at work by 4PM! Fiance ordered a daisy arrangement; since there were no daisies in stock (and fiance had chosen "allow equal substitutions", shop sent arrangement with white mums and vase instead. Substitute vase did not allow for flowers to be as full as pictured, but shop gladly sent a follow-up arrangement of daisies once they were back in stock. My father resides in Los Angeles and chose The Flower Shop to send me an arrangement for my birthday. I, of course, was not aware that he was sending the flowers, so I was away from home when they were delivered. On the way home, I listened to my voicemail and realized that flowers had been delivered and that they had been sitting outside in the hot sun for several hours. Unfortunately, the flower delivery person left the arrangement in a vase in the direct sunlight on my cement steps. I would have assumed that if I was not home, the delivery person would have left the arrangement on the dirt, sheltered by some bushes, or in a box, or something, to keep it from being out in the extreme heat. Needless to say, although I could tell that the arrangement was beautiful, it was wilted and did not last very long at all. I thanked my father profusely for the beautiful flowers but didn't have the heart to tell him that they had to be thrown away shortly after receiving them. We contacted the owner of the florist shop and told him about our concerns, namely that the flowers were left in the direct sun, in a vase, on concrete, for hours. He questioned us and doubted that his driver would leave the flowers in such a state. He was argumentative and said he couldn't replace the flowers because he would have to do so all of the time. Ultimately, we concluded that if he would not replace the birthday flowers, that would be fine. We have worked with other florists who try to please their customers when they were unsatisfying. We won't be utilizing this business in the future. read more
