I used Blossom Flower Delivery (3rd party) because it looked like they were a local company when I checked online (they are not) and they were awful to deal with but talking with Sharon at Agape Florist was a wonderful experience and I would advise anyone to order directly from her instead of going through a 3rd party. I didn't know of any local florists when I ordered but now will only order from Agape Florist if I want to send flowers in Charlottesville Virginia. The friend I ordered flowers for was very happy when she got her beautiful arrangement and Sharon did a wonderful job with it! read more

ALWAYS REQUIRE PHOTO BEFORE ANY DELIVERY! The call he read back, and 2 emails emphasized:  "NO WILTY qROSES, use 2 sizes Peach & White Carnations to go with Dusty Blue Succulents and Filler in description, Lilies, & replace white wilty filler with small white Daisy Filler." (Dusty Blue Succulents & Filler reflect focus of 'DESERT' theme, a lasting gift plant.) She sent her version twice: Green filler, MORE wilty roses, yellow carnations and NO Dusty Blue filler or SUCCULENTS.   Had anyone honestly said "Far too difficult &  wilted roses required"  I would have hung up. As the gross difference was clear, a refund was made through credit card as she did not respond. Not great. Twice now, they've delivered an arrangement that looks very different than the photo (smaller, different flowers, different color scheme) and no matter how you type out the message for the card, they will take away all formatting, which makes things like poems or haikus look very stupid on the card. I cannot recommend Agape. read more

We have been visiting Charlottesville for several years yet only recently used Agape Florist. Recently, we lost our 97 year old matriarch. We have ordered arrangements twice after seeing an arrangement from a neighbor. The professionalism is spotless. The deliveries have been respectful and you can see the pride in the face of the deliverer. Everyone at the memorial commented and asked where the flowers had come from. The flora is so fresh and beautifully arranged. The price is amazingly under-priced in my opinion. We are from Nashville and I can say with complete confidence that Agape's arrangements far exceed any I have ever seen there. As long as we are in Charlottesville we will continue to use this business. read more

Don't go here. They charged me extra for "premium" Lilly's that never bloomed, and look horrible. I even asked if I could get Lilly's that were bloomed because It was for my mother's birthday, and they insisted they would bloom by the end of the day. This is two days later. Save your money people. read more

I tried to order flowers for my mothers birthday. I really did. I set up the order four times on the website and it didn't go through. I called and waited on hold after they asked, for 18 minutes then they hung up on me. The next day, they just hung up on me without even putting me on hold. One of my friend's just had a baby and I wanted to send her flowers. Being from out-of-town, I looked through yelp, google, and really came up short for florists in Charlottesville. I went with Agape florist because they were open on Saturday, charged $6 to deliver same-day to Martha Jefferson Hospital and had cute arrangements on their website. As a hobby horticulturalist (ok, maybe a stretch :), I know my flowers and want them to be fresh, and not look like they came from the grocery store or cost an insane amount since I have some experience with buying flowers wholesale for my wedding. I called Agape, spoke with a lovely lady over the phone who answered my questions, discussed flower options, price point, the vase and when it would be ready. Couldn't have been easier. The flowers my friend received were cute- not exactly what I would have selected in terms of flower types but pretty, fresh, & my friend loved it. They do have a website but for some reason the delivery price was higher on the checkout vs the stated price in their 'delivery' section of the website. Thus the reason for me calling... Agape provided several floral arrangements for our family over the last year. They do excellent work and deliver when promised.

Flower arrangement delivered on a Thursday. Rose petals and other flowers were bruised upon delivery. Day three flowers began to fade/rot even though I changed water. This was an expensive gift from a PA family member and Agape took the FTD order. When I phoned Agape, they did not believe me. Said flowers are always fresh. I asked them for a refund for my cousin, and they gave me a long list of things to do to get this refund. They also said they would PU old flowers, and that never happened. Buyer beware. My daughter, who lives in Buffalo, sent me flowers at my office in a downtown church. I guess the tele-florist thought they should send the order to this church-y establishment. I've never heard of them. And probably for a reason. The flowers are anemic, and almost wilted. Saggy carnations and cosmos, and one spike of a snapdragon. Maybe they're good at cheap funeral flowers. But don't spend money there for a classy arrangement. (Go to Hedge for that.) read more

My husband and I stopped in a year ago on our way to meet the sheriff to get married. I wanted a last minute bouquet of flowers and they whipped up a beautiful bouquet for $20. We are having a wedding celebration this weekend with our friends and family and wanted a similar bouquet. When I went in to order it the woman asked me how much I wanted to spend, to which I replied $20-$30. After she was done laughing at me for suggesting such a low price, she agreed that something could be made for $50. My husband agreed to pick up the bouquet by 6 PM when they close on Fridays, but starting at 4pm the store was calling him, wondering when he was going to pick it up. He went to pick it up at 5 PM and when he came home with it, I almost cried. It is ~10 daisies, 2 roses and ~10 tiny lillies. I could have bought bouquet of flowers from a supermarket and done the same job that they did for a small fraction of the price. Even the ribbon wrapping on the stems had glue all over it. Overall, very disappointing and overpriced. When I called to ask about why the bouquet was so small and not very professional looking, they had already closed early and since it is a holiday weekend they are closed all weekend. Save your money, it's not worth wasting it here. We already contacted another florist that said they would repair the damage tomorrow for us. Just very disappointing and terrible customer service. read more

The flowers I received from Agape Florist of Charlottesville arrived in dirty water and were not bloomed. The arrangement lasted about three days and then died. When I called to let Agape know about the unacceptable arrangement the customer service I received was lackluster. They agreed to issue a partial refund; however, I had to follow up with them multiple times for it to actually be processed. read more

HORRIBLE!!! My husband ordered flowers, a specific arrangement from their website. It showed up, with over half of it missing, the roses are half dead and brown, and the vase is dirty, looks like someone had already used it before and they forgot to clean it. Some of the greenery was broken and dirty as well. We called to tell them and they only made excuses and refused to refund the money. My poor husband spend $130 on flowers that I could have bought much nicer one at the dollar store for less then $15! Don't use them if you want nice flowers!! read more

Excellent!!! Semi hidden away behind the downtown Staples - and in same strip mall as The Shebeen restaurant. Went to them for last minute request for prom corsage - were super helpful, delivered a stunning result in almost no time, didn't charge extra, didn't treat me like I (or my teenage son) was an imbecile for leaving things last minute (did you hear that EVERY OTHER flower shop in town!!). Plus their flowers are incredibly fresh - I bought a rose at the same time and it's still beautiful over a week later! - almost unheard of. Highly recommended!! read more

Being a gardener, I am fairly particular about flowers. After reading online reviews of Agape, I tried them and am very impressed. I needed a last-minute arrangement to celebrate a baby's birth, and they totally accommodated me with great courtesy and an intuitive approach to what I needed. I took my own container because it is baby blue, just right for the occasion. They talked with me about my idea and the flowers on hand to suit my vision. Someone dropped everything she was doing and brought back a lovely mixture of the cheeriest flowers, in less than 15 minutes (probably more like 10). I was out of there and on my way to see the new baby in the speediest possible time. I would upload a photo but the ride home of new mother, child, and flowers resulted in the arrangement getting a bit distorted. I should also mention that I had set a limit of $20, which is usually impossibly low to get anything good, but Agape surpasses all expectations. Thanks, ladies !! read more
