I had the chicken piccata. Tasted like the sauce came from a can but it was edible. My husband had the chicken masala. The mushrooms were from a can and it was so sweet it tasted like it had maple syrup in it. He was not able to eat all of his. The waitress was very nice. Been here with my parents years ago. I don't think I was too crazy about it at that time. When we moved here we have gone here maybe 3 times to give it a chance because my Mom likes Italian restaurants and there are none that are exceptionally good or authentic in the area. They do also have some dessert pizzas with chocolate on it and another with apples. Let's start with the service. Not crazy about that , let's put it this way. First of all if you order spaghetti and meatballs. As we did the last visit after they reopened for eat in after they could do eat in. The photo shows hardly any sauce. We asked for some More, they wanted to charge!!!! Now when I go to pay for dinner I'd like it the way I enjoy it not the way they want you to eat it!!! I was mad! Asked to see the manager. Not only was the spaghetti not drained enough but hardly any thing on it. Pasta is cheap and so is adding a little extra sauce when they didn't add much, it should be free!!! Your talking maybe a ladell full or a little less? To make a customer happy? When we had the buffet usually unless you go in as soon as they put the pizza out it is usually dry and looks old. You can ask for pizza that in gone and they do bring more out. We are not crazy about their pizza! The best in town is Louie's. His is authentic tasting. Here we are not crazy about the taste. I had lowered my expectations after reading the reviews, but I'd disagree with a lot of them. The chicken Parmesan was a huge portion, could easily get three meals out of it. The salad by the time it got to me was very limp and sad, chicken was not blackened. I think it was limp because it was set between the hot Parmesan and a pizza so it just got hot and limp. The chocolate chip pizza is a stellar idea and definitely will return for that one. read more

After eating the take home pizza and wings, my rating stays at 3 stars. The cooks seem to like cheese. Overloaded on the eggplant and veal and overloaded cheese and hardly any toppings or sauce on the pizza. wings were just ehh. No buffalo flavor and I don't know how they are cooked, but skin was kind of, like they were boiled instead of baked and they definitely weren't cooked in any oil. read more

Another great experience here this weekend... our server Josh was on point! Fast and efficient. I got the chicken and rice soup that came with a lemon wedge and it was surprisingly good. Creamy but not too heavy. I got the Chicken Parm for my main... it was a large filet lightly breaded with plenty of mozzarella cheese and meat sauce on top. First time at Don's and enjoyed the experience. If you're looking for a "find dining" experience, don't go to Don's. You won't find small tables with white table cloths, cocktails and an extensive wine list. What you will find is good service, kind wait staff and good food. Don't is set up as a "family style" restaurant. There is a large buffet, I'm not a buffet person, ordered from the menu. Eggplant parm was excellent. Great flavor! One of my favorite restaurants. They do tend to overload on the cheese, so ask for light cheese. Love their ravioli and wings. They have an awesome pink sauce that you can substitute on the entrees. Highly recommend it. The owner often takes suggestions. A must try. The only thing I would change is having wine or beer available. read more

I just had to take the time to tell all that read this review, what a wonderful service Don's Italian Restaurant gives our entire community! I will start by sharing with you from the beginning of our visit to the very end. We were greeted by a cheerfull hostess by our name! We were seated immediately, and our drink orders taken. The large booths and tables are topped by classy stained glass lighting. We had ample time to choose from a large selection of scrumptious food. Once our order was taken, we had time to visit with Valerie..co-owner of Don's. It felt like I was with family. It takes a little time to prepare home cooked meals. You can tell that this food is fresh and have never seen the microwave! We were visited several times by a member of the wait staff to ask if we needed anything. When we were finished, we were offered dessert. But who could eat! After eating the ample dinner servings, we will have to come back just for the sweets! We are retired, and were so surprised to see how fair and affordable our bill was for the evening. We've tried this place a couple of times now, and I'm still on the fence with it. The chicken Parmesan is more than enough food but lacks flavor. Same goes for the Alfredo dishes. Had to ask for extra seasoning just so it tasted like something. Seems like if they just used some simple seasonings in their dishes, it would be good. Salad was warm and watery. We were told that they pre-cut it and it sits in water - must not be ice water or drained good before it's served; not very appetizing. Prices aren't bad for what you get, and each dinner is served with a salad and bread. Just wish we didn't have to doctor the dishes so much to make them taste good. read more

2 pm lunch. Hostess attempted to seat us at an obviously dirty table with large crumbs of food on it. Had to ASK for a clean one. After being reseated noticed food all over the floors even under clean tables. Eggplant parmesan was very mushy like it had been microwaved. Chicken Alfredo sauce way too sweet and was informed it was homemade and had sugar in it "but not that much." Don't expect to get a nice glass of wine with your italian food. No alcohol. Manager asked how everything was. We spoke our opinion and she tried to argue with us. Very rude, overall dirty, slow service and very disappointing food. Wont be going back. read more
