So I was on a Pizza tasting tour this week (see my other reviews), and Sidestreet makes it on my top 5 in the area. I ordered a medium Deluxe Pizza, it was hearty, it was full of toppings, it was cheesy, it was crunchy and it was hot! Everything I like on a pizza. And although the price was higher than usual ($19), this pizza was worth it. It is a larger size than traditional medium pizzas (13 inch vs 12) and was very hearty. So compared to other places that charge the same for a thin pie with basic ingredients, this pizza eats more like a large pizza. The only thing I would improve is the dough. It tasted and had the consistency of a french bread loaf, rathern that the crunchyness and density of a pizza dough. read more

We're from out of town and stopped by for dinner. The restaurant has a quaint feel, nothing fancy but gets the job done. We ordered hot wings, hamburger pizza and margarita pizza. The wings were some of the best I've had! The breading was very well seasoned and the sauce was scratch made. I supply love hamburger pizza and theirs was not my favorite but my husband loved it. The margarita pizza made up for it! The only critique I had was they brought out the dressing for pizza ON the pizza and I had to get past the idea of germs from sauce cup on top of my pizza. read more

Let's dive right in. I want to love this pizza so much but I just can't. No undercarriage, and flimsy crust is its fail. Their pizzas seem baked just enough for the cheese to melt. Once you go medium that's it, all structural integrity is gone. The toppings just slide right off of the slice when picked up. The dough needs to be way thicker and they need to give it some time to finish in the oven. I think then we would be at a 4/5 stars because the ingredients are decent and the selection very nice. We're almost there, but not quite yet. The inside ambience is very cozy. What you'd like from a local pizzeria, with nice lighting. Solid 3/5 stars if you're in the area. Heard great reviews about Sidestreet so decided to try it. I had take out. The narrow hallway led to the counter. There was absolutely no waiting. Saturday afternoon the place was crowded. The Sidestreet Supreme sub was very good. it is more of an American sub verses Italian. The bread was toasted, as it should be. The vegetables (lettuce and tomato) tasted fresh. It contained plenty of black olives. I opted for no dressing. I like to taste what is in the sandwich and not the dressing. It is a very good value at $10.00. The pizza was very good. There was plenty of meat on the Deluxe. The dough was a little soft for my liking. The sauce had a nice tang to it. I would give it above average for the area. read more

Where do I start? My wife an I dont get to get out together much due to our work schedules. We'll today we did. Coming home from Ashville no questions we stopping in Tryon for our favor pizza. Hats off to the chef spot on as always. Now the problematic person of the evening. Our server if thats what you call her. Took 15 mins to get our drinks. Wife wants a beer so I finally flagged her down. No problem she said. Food comes out an she walked by our table 10 times. Never acknowledged we was even there. Round 2 hey can i get my wifes drinks please. 15 min later she gets it. We tried to enjoy our meal. But this is weighing on me hard. I am a very vocal person but trying to be nice I didnt say anything. I finally got my own Togo boxes an went to the counter to get my check. She brought it layed it on the table an not a word an walked off. 30 years I have considered sidestreet my go to pizza heaven. The food was spot on. But if that the kinda service im gonna get I will not be going back. I have always considered myself a generous tipper. But this heifer git a big fat goose egg. Customer service is top notch! Friendly wait staff we showed up pretty close to closing and still got amazing service the waitress was so kind and sweet and attentive! The ambiance is great! I'm originally from North Carolina but lived in South Carolina all my life. I'm a true Carolinian they have amazing atmosphere great bar great food. Their pizza and wings are amazing. The service from the atmosphere of the employees is amazing. I've never had a bad experience there and it's well worth the drive and well worth the money. I love pizza love love love love love pizza. It's my kryptonite I could be full and have already eaten and someone have pizza and oh boy I'm grubbing down. if you've never been there, you need to go there and try it for yourself. You won't be disappointed. They're always busy and if they're not busy, just wait because you go there to eat and before you leave, the place will be packed and if you like small town atmosphere, that's one of the best places to go read more

This is my second time eating at this restaurant and both times have been great. It seems a little humble when you first step through the door but it's clean and the service is good. The food is decently priced and well-made. Pictured are a make your own pizza with sausage and meatball slices (do not be deceived by the apparent lacking toppings they completely cover the pizza but under the cheese), wings and tiramisu. I did not eat it all! I could not eat it all if I tried because the portions are legit. Highly recommend this place if you are visiting the area or local yet have never tried it. read more

Haven't been here in years and definitely won't be coming back. I've never in all my 20 years in the hospitality industry have I ever had a more disappointing/busch league experience. First we have to wait for a table which is no biggie. However the group in front of us wanted a booth and that's cool but you wait for the booth. They were seated at a table just to have drinks while the rest of us stood and then when a booth was open they moved tables and I was sat at their old table. It's restaurant 101 you seat tables at their table. No switching. It screws up the waitstaff and the kitchen and if they want first available then absolutely seat them. But if they insist on a booth then wait for the booth. I put in for first available so having to wait so you can serve people a round of drinks when they could go to the bar started the night off pretty badly. Then my non existent waitress who obviously had more tables than she could handle took over 10 mins to bring me 2 waters and 2 beers. We finally ordered. I'm allergic to tomatoes and wanted them removed from my pizza and put mushrooms in their place. I don't want tomatoes so that ingredient isn't being used do they charge less no. But they def charged me for mushrooms. It's not a big deal ab the money but more the principle and the attitude from the waitress. Then she disappeared for the entirety of our meal didn't check back or anything. Our food was brought by food runners. And then we were done for over 20 minutes and I had to get up and ask a manager for the check because I was ab to lose it at that point and just wanted to leave. I tipped my server $1 which is something I've never done before. I've been in the industry over 20 years but she rubbed me so wrong and didn't even do the bare minimum so she can eat it for all I care. Def won't be going back. Not sure if it's new owners or just incompetent staff but this place used to be good. And to boot the pizza was mediocre. Had no base, fell apart. Wasn't cooked all the way mine was like warm in the middle. Do yourself a favor and save your time and money and go eat anywhere else. This place is the definition of Busch league! This was the first time stopping here. While going to Columbus for a appt we wanted to find something good for dinner. We ran into a girl I know at my Doctors office. She referred us to this place and said they had pizza and other stuff and we would enjoy it. Columbus has a few restaurants and this was heading toward Tryon maybe 10 min away so we took her advice. She was spot on! We ordered a Medium Heart Stopper pizza which had tons of meat on it. It was also not lacking cheese!! I am not a pizza fanatic by no means. I could live without it if I had to. Not many good pizza places around but this had a great flavor and it a nice to see all the toppings. Most places skimp. I am a fan of this pizza for sure. I enjoyed the crust too! Now I heard they had good wings so I want to try them sometime. Service was good,The waitress was on top of drink refills and checking to see how we were doing. We will go back for sure! We celebrated mom's day at Sidestreet. The place was packed , and we were treated extremely well ! The meatball sub was amazing, italian sub was amazing , and a deluxe pizza add eggplant was beyond amazing. Price was very fair and waitress was super good on a pretty stressful day ! We ate outside to get served faster , but the inside is really cool and feels like a real Daniel Boone log cabin...it's gotta be really old ! Came by myself this time and met a gentlemen at the bar. He preferred the Philly steak and gave me half. Oh Damn!! On our way back home to Charlotte we decided to stop at the nearest pizza shop and this one caught our eye. We got there around 1:00 and noticed they had an unusual and obnoxious amount of signs all over their parking lot on where you can park, what time you can park, take out parking only, etc! They even had more signage on the inside, lmao!' You'd think this place was located in New York City the way they believed large crowds were coming. We ordered a plain cheese pizza which was excellent! No complaints! The wings on the other hand were flavorless and definitely aren't seasoned. They just pour garlic park sauce all over them which doesn't mask the fact that the wings aren't seasoned. The prices were fair and the service was friendly. Well here we go again...in Columbus N.C. looking for something different for dinner...as we were about ready to walk into a Chinese restaurant...we ran into the same nurse that recommended other places that were awesome...so she did recommend NOT to eat here but that there was a place called Side Street about 10 minutes away...so off we go...when we arrived plenty of parking but kind of weird parking lot layout...so be careful. So we go to be seated immediately...now to be honest...I was't expecting much...not that crowded for 5pm....expected a large dinner crowd...but it was kind of empty...so we decided on pizza...and me being a big pizza fan...we decided on a medium sized HEART STOPPER...which had ham,sausage,pepperoni,ground beef and topped off with bacon... you truly couldn't see the pizza because there was so much meat...first bite was incredible...now I see why people recommend this place...very...very good .So once again I give Side Street Pasta and Pizza 5 stars. Nice local gathering place to eat good pizza and other Italian entrees as well as good beer selections. The service is good, even when they do get busy. The layout of the building is a little different than the norm, but it actually ends up being a nice atmosphere once you are sat down. Definitely recommend it and it's part of our monthly rotation of places to go that's quick and doesn't break the bank. read more
