It's a dive bar. Period. Go here. Get drunk. Smoke a ciggy. Listen to some music. Watch some sports. And there's some boobs on the wall too. Which is nice.

    Great hideaway.

So I'm giving this pace 4 stars based solely on it's dive bar status and the fact that it is nowhere near the craziness of Duval Street. It is way off the beaten path and seems to be a place where locals go. We ended up there late night while walking back to our hotel which was on the same street. The minute we walked in we were greeted by a regular who immediately moved down a chair so my wife and I could sit together up at the bar. We then struck up a conversation for a long while, he bought us a round and left. Meanwhile, there was a young lady at the bar with her dog sitting next to her in a bar stool who was nice and eventually a couple of the bartenders we recognized from a bar downtown wandered in. It's fairly big, it has a pool table and it's attached to a package liquor store. Great neighborhood bar and a great place to escape the hoards of twenty-something year old drunken bro's down on Duval. About the only downside for us is that they allow smoking, which I'm sure is a positive for a lot of people so I guess it's a wash. It wasn't bad when we were there though since the bar was fairly empty. The bottom line: If you're into neighborhood dive bars and want to escape the touristy madness this is a great place to come hide out.

Great service, great prices, and wonderful place to watch NFL games. Worth the walk off Duval if you're visiting Key West!

It's a dive bar through and through but I happen to be a big fan of dive bars! However, this one fell flat on it's face with the service. I wouldn't say the place was packed but there were not any open seats at the bar. I posted up the best I could but for the better part of 15 minutes both bartenders didn't even come to my side of the bar. I then moved to the other side and waited another 10 minutes to be served (at which point the bartender said "Didn't I just serve you?" Um, no, you most definitely did not. This place has two saving graces: 1) A water jug full of cold water for the taking, off in the corner. Love that. 2) A popcorn machine that had DELICIOUS popcorn! YES. If you can manage to get a beverage then I think you won't mind Green Parrot's (very) relaxed atmosphere and delightful little perks. My takeaway is for the staff to mix in some work to go along with their chatting with the regulars...
