Powder UK specialize in a soft bamboo blend fabrication and fantastical prints. My most recent purchase of vintage inspired ornaments look lovely on my Christmas tree. Prices are on the high side, but I would expect this at an independent boutique. If I love something and don't think I would be able to find it anywhere else I will take advantage of the moment and make the purchase. The owners are always up for a nice chat at the register. Parking is easy and free on a Sunday, especially in downtown San Jose, so best time for you to explore without worry of a ticket or getting your car towed. The moment you walk in you'll be welcomed by adorable merchandise by a local seller- Thousand Skies- by her cute prints, stuffed plushies, and keychains. There's many more independent artists deeper within that were selling items from washi tapes, keychains, tote bags, and stickers. Super clean store with natural lighting that highlights the goods inside. During this time until July 9th, 2023, there's a special anime exhibit featuring original artwork based on SpyxFamily and Chainsawman!! I had to go, awesome exposure for local artists that love anime. There was an entire wall dedicated to their crafts from paintings, mugs, and more! In that room, there were other artists that delivered on Filipino culture with cute enamel pins and Kpop with BTS themed prints. Versatile room that highlighted so many fandoms and identities. The shop is run by volunteers and benefits the United Nations Association and UNICEF. Among the items I love are the small metal sculptures from Africa, the wooden bowls from Nicaragua, and all of the owl-themed items. I bought two little string dolls, one Medusa and one Frida Kahlo. There was one volunteer working and she was helpful and kind. The shop wasn't too busy on a Saturday afternoon, but I'm guessing that's about to change with the holidays approaching. With the price of books now, it's pretty easy to get there. Knowing that I can get $5 off a purchase after collecting 100 stars makes me feel like I'm slowly building my home library book by book.

GO HERE…read more There's lots of Pingu, Chiikawa, Calico Critters (Sylvanian Families for the purists out there), Miffy, Sanrio, and other goods that aren't easily found in other shops, at least in person. I'd even say that some of these items are hard to find even at anime conventions. It's not the same blind boxes and gacha goods that you see everywhere (but they definitely have that too). It's a shop, not a cafe, but it's located in the back of a take out Japanese restaurant, so if you want onigiri or taiyaki or a bento, you can definitely grab that to go as well. So after making a turn inside, the food becomes cute goods. They have a wide variety of items and it CAN get very crowded in there since it's literally a U shaped walkway with stacked up cute goods. Lots and lots of keychain plushies and blind boxes, some of them are only available through Miniso overseas and haven't been released in the Miniso over here. Prices can be steep for some items, seeing that they are more "rare" and now we have to deal with the implications of tariffs and literally the rising cost of everything. The Chiikawa pudding lamp was around $50 and the loooong lolita Hello Kitty plush keychains were $30, if that gives you any idea. But I was able to find some items under $5 that made for great gifts to bring back (not a lot but it did exist). For the Calico Critters, if you factor in the availability of some of the sets and subtract out the shipping, it's a pretty good deal. I haven't seen the otter family before and with shipping it was at least $8 cheaper than what it would have been online if I had purchased it (also not available on the US Calico Critters page). So definitely have your phone ready to look up prices. Follow their IG if you want to see an update on the stock of items that they have too.

Their pricing is also super transparent, with notes posted around the shop so it's easy to buy even when on a budget. Not only have they begun to recognize me, but when I came in for the Valko event, they were kind enough to notify me that they had new items to decorate on top of their already huge selection, which made choosing just one project so hard! If you have the time in your session, I'd recommend more than one. The staff here are SUPER kind and welcoming, and truly try their best to make this place a hub for the community (especially for Love and DeepSpace players) and I couldn't recommend them more! Everything was so crazy expensive!! Every DIY project was $30 - $55 on the list. It was absurd a small trinket box was over $30. The hair claws, hair clips, and headband, which are in the $20 range are unavailable. Even the stickers had to brought in a set. I couldn't even purchase one sticker!! They really push you to spent as much as money as possible here. I came to have a good time after the character cancellation, but like Infold, I was severely disappointed with them. I wish they could do better at least lol. Even the pens to write down the notes to Valko wasn't working well.

It's just a few blocks, from what we saw and most of the stores and restaurants were closed on Sunday, but stumbling across Petite Galleria made it worthwhile. One of those nooks with barely more than a shadowbox-sized space, it reminded me of one - a tiny opening to a treasure trove of cuteness! Leeonnista was there to help show us items when we tried to point to the trinkets we were curious about and it was a bit comedic trying to direct her up and down, left and right - trying to communicate which particular item had caught our eyes, while dodging distractions. All the pieces were made by local artists and we ended up picking out two sketches and three pairs of earrings.
