This Donut Delight is conveniently located off the I-95 exit by mile 6. They have a drive thru and parking available. I stopped in the evening they still had a lot of donuts available. Apparently, they are open 24/7. It was my first time in, I ordered a boston Kreme and a crueller stick donut. They were light, doughy and fresh. Ok, so I have No business, no business whatsoever, going in such a place. I was in Stamford waiting for my beloved pet to get out of a procedure and was nervous and upset, so... Lovely, big store. Clean and bright, plenty of parking. All looked homemade; these independent donut shops are rare amidst chain places that taste terrible in comparison. If you are going to blow it on carbs, do it at a quality place like this and eat a donut or muffin that your grandmother would have made. The man who helped me at the counter was very helpful. The donuts all looked Amazing, but I had my eye on the cranberry orange walnut muffin. Heated with butter? Yes they can. This was a real, delicious, homemade muffin, real butter, no artificial nasties. The corn muffin looked great too, they all did, but I did not dare. They had avocado toast too. I need more drive thru donut stores where I live! Donut delight was an absolute DELIGHT! It was so cold in November and we got to order from the warmth of our car. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on a roll and a half dozen glazed blueberry donut holes. We came across Donut Delights last night while we were driving through. I was pretty excited to see it because I needed a coffee...the donuts were a pleasant surprise. The service was pretty disgruntled and rude; even when I pulled up to the window, they simply stared at us with angry faces while they finished getting our coffees ready. The glaze donut was good, I liked how light it was. The other half got a chocolate glazed donut, it was really dry and dense but I liked the glaze. Overall, I think it could be better during the day and will hope our experience was due to it being the middle of the night. read more

Was in the neighborhood today and dropped in for a coffee and 2 blueberry donut holes. Service was fine, the coffee was perfect and so were the donut holes. They had the most amazing "to go" cup I have seen. Instead of the little snappy thing that comes on a strap and covers the drinking hole, their cup lid swiveled around the entire cup (like unscrewing the lid off a jar). But somehow the cup lid was in 2 pieces so the inside piece remained stationary and the outside ring moved - alternatingly rotating away from, or over the drinking hole. The donuts are excellent - always fresh and perfectly sweet - but what lures me in every week is the intoxicating, aromatic cold brew that is always delightfully refreshing, never induces jitters and is a pleasure with every sip. I can't even put a number to how many people have heard me extol its virtues. The big problem with Donut Delight (why this review gives four stars instead of five) is the way they deal with coffee flavors. It's a managerial problem, not an employee problem, and it's infuriating because it creates a headache when ordering and is so easily avoided. It's a problem that no other establishment that sells coffee in the whole world has ever had. I usually order cold brew with caramel syrup and almond milk. If you make a mistake and say "caramel" or "caramel flavor" you end up getting that disgusting diet sugar-free garbage in your drink that wreaks havoc on your metabolism and gut health. If you make a mistake and say you want "caramel flavor" you'll end up with this in your drink. They will tell you you should have ordered and said "caramel sweet." That's the way to get the real thing in your drink. Here's the thing...ALL CARAMEL IS SWEET. So is all mocha. So is vanilla. Only sweet flavors go in coffee. The diet version that wreaks havoc on your gut health should not be the default in the kitchen, but it is, and that's wrong. That would be like ordering "a Coke" and receiving a Diet Coke and being told "oh, you should have ordered a Coke sweet." This needs to be fixed. The menu board for the drive thru doesn't even reflect it. We love all the employees here. They are very friendly and professional. read more

Worst drive thru ever, it almost cost me my life. I ordered a hot large coffee with Carmel syrup with almond milk and whipped cream on top, but to my unlucky surprise I got a Slimy substance in my coffee. Unfortunately, I was to far away to head back. I was on my way to NYC therefore I waited for the coffee to cool down to enjoy it before my workday started. This is my place! I have been buying my coffee here for over 7 years now. The managers and employees are very friendly and know how to treat their customers.... the good ones and the "not so good ones". The food is always fresh and the dining room and bathroom are always clean. In the morning, the parking lot can get a little congested, but that's just all of us trying to start our day with our favorite coffee spot! When they gave me my food, it was incorrect, so the employee asked me to drive around, park and come inside. I did, and had to get a price adjustment as well. We stopped at this particular Donut Delight after doing some errands in the neighborhood, and I have to say, I like it a lot. Compared to the one closer to us, this one has a decent parking lot, so whether you are driving through or going in, it'll be less of a hassle. There have been three times within the past two months that I have ordered an iced coffee with a shot of espresso, paid for it, and they forgot to add the espresso. I've been meaning to write this review for some time and was inspired a few days ago during my visit. Many months ago I had to cut dairy from my diet for my new baby. I had already been drinking my coffee with almond milk, but now it was less about preference and more about the health and well being of my tiny baby. Long story short, I went to the drive thru and headed on my way. About 10 minutes into my drive I questioned whether I got almond milk or regular milk. At first I thought, I'll just throw it out and get a new one, but I decided to call first. I briefly told them it was an allergy issue and the staff put me on the phone with the manager who took the time to review surveillance footage that matched the time stamp on my receipt. He was able to watch the staff member pour almond milk into my cup and reassure me it was what I asked for. Fast forward about 7 months to last week, when I witnessed the same manager wait on a young adult with special needs and her parent/caregiver. I was so touched by his genuine concern for the young woman, respect of her challenges and patience in meeting her needs even with a long line. The rest of the crew is always friendly. They recognize the regulars and are sure to make small talk each morning. This is definitely my favorite donut delight staff! read more

This is my preferred location! Better than Dunkin Donuts and a great alternative to Starbucks. The sandwiches are incredible. The breakfast sandwiches are piping hot, made with real eggs and you have the option of requesting egg whites. They have a great number of tea options (one of my favorites is the ginger peach) and they make incredible lattes with almond milk! The staff is cool, drama free, they do their job and they do it well. On the off chance that a drink isn't to your liking they'll happily remake it. The place can get crowded but the staff is so efficient that they can clear a line in no time. I'm also always impressed with how clean it is. The doughnuts are also MUCH better than Dunkin Donuts! When I want a good, fresh doughnut that I know won't be stale I always head here! I visit a Donut Delight for coffee and Breakfast 4-5 times a week. The Elm Street (stamford) Donut Delight has always done a great job as far as service and product delivery are concerned but they are always so busy especially the drive thru. I had a few poor experiences here on West Ave but they have been consistently GOOD for about a month now. My coffee is perfect the food is prepared correctly and I am not delayed any at the window. They may have just grown used to me/my order and know to put the proper things in my bag so I can just grab & go. In any case. The service has significantly improved. read more

I love this place! I stop there on my way to work all the time and everyone is super nice and super helpful. Even when they put too much milk in my coffee sometimes they have no problem quickly taking it back and making it just the way I like it. I especially love the bagels; I recently learned they get them from Liz Sue, and they make the best bagels in Stamford so being able to get a Liz Sue bagel with my iced coffee is just the best.
