Visiting the area from Los Angeles for business so I really wanted a diner for a dinner option. My server was very polite and the free parking lot in back was easy but it was not my favorite diner experience of the year. Inside is fairly small but the tables are large and can host groups up to six per table. They do have a giant menu filled with all sorts of options, some of them are pretty crazy, especially the influencer section of the menu. I started off with a cup of the chili and wasn't a huge fan of it. It tasted more like the Cincinnati chili and had a large amount of oil. For my entrée, I chose the cheesesteak and was hoping it was going to be like a traditional Philly style, but it wasn't quite. I liked it more than the chili but still made me wish that I ordered a tuna melt or something else. I would give it a try again on a future visit but would want to try it again before I recommend. read more

Everyone has their off days. This place however shocked me today. It isn't our first time eating at this restaurant, and every other time things have been great. Today was the first time we've eaten here in years. We were seated immediately but we waited more than 40 minutes for the food to come. We watched people leave because they could not wait for their food any longer. At first, I thought a chef must have called out. When our food finally came, I was forced to look at the most unappealing home fries that were molded to the plastic container they were stored in. At least try to make them look fresh bru. And the whole restaurant was cold. I was cold. The food was cold. This place should be called COLD Street Diner, am I right? And the coffee refill came like once. In the whole hour and a half we were there. The only times someone would walk by was to clear a table, or that guy idk who he is idk if he's the owner but he was wearing balenciaga sweatpants and then he would just go stand by the register to sip on some wine. My mother ordered the huevos rancheros and they were bland asl. I ordered the birria omelette and it was BLAND EVERYTHING WAS BLAND!!! The birria was just wet it didn't taste like anything bro. We haven't been to the Norwalk location but a lady sitting next to us noticed that we weren't happy with our food and she was speculating that all the good cooks got transferred there. We drove 1.5 hours to try this place because it has been so hyped up. We figured we would give it a go because we were visiting relatively close. The spectacle of the Influencer meals were fun. If you are within 30 minutes of the diner the spectacle alone would be worth stopping by. I had the Spicy Vodka Parm Sandwich and my husband had the Chicken Alfredo Parm Sandwich. They were both fine. The sauces were a bit on the bland side. They were served with a side of waffle fries and the waffle fries were better than the sandwiches. We also got the Oreo Dream French Toast. It was huge and there was so much sugar anfetamínica candy on it. Again, the spectacle was fun but the dish itself was just like eating spoonfuls of sugar. There was no other predominant flavor to it. I would not recommend driving more than 30 minutes and the flavors are not worth breaking your diet for! I thought this place would be great for my girlfriend and I. When we walked in we were met with 6 people standing and talking - workers, staring us down as we walked in. Not any greeting, it felt as though we were not supposed to be walking into the establishment whatsoever. When we were seated we ran into lots of issues with our server, she spoke little to no English and things were very hard to get across. Now food. I am a chef and this place was disappointing. We ordered the big macc eggrolls as our appetizer and while they were good, all we were tasting was meat and cheese, nothing else. Finally got a chance to visit Elm Street Dinet today. We came around noon. Got seated right away. It had such a nice diner atmosphere with plenty of booth seatings. The service was friendly. The menu was extensive and we had such a hard time deciding. I wanted to have a milk shake at some point but the portion sizes were large so I resolved to cone back and get the milk shake on another visit. We started with Fried Calamari. Very crunchy. I ordered the fried chicken pancake tacos. I like the savory sweet combo but could only eat one. It came in a set of three. My brother ordered the corned beef has Benedict. The portions are HUGE, so one of these would have definitely been good enough for 2 people to share. What I didn't like about the dishes was that they seemed to have been warmed unevenly. The Mac and cheese and the chicken that was on the top of the dish was room temperature, but the chicken that was buried on the bottom was really hot. It seemed as if maybe the plate had been sitting out for a few before being served to us. Either way, it tasted delicious!! The Buffalo dish didn't have enough Buffalo sauce on it so we did have to ask for extra. For dessert we ordered the milk shake. We chose the the cookies and cream flavor and then they put whatever they wanted on it. It was MASSIVE. It included an ice cream sandwich, a piece of chocolate cake, 2 donuts, pieces of chocolate bars, Oreo cookies, whipped cream, fudge!! Overall, this diner is definitely a must try. We arrived closer to noon so explains the line outside the door and it timed about a 30-minute wait. I've never been before so I didn't know what to expect besides what I had seen on Instagram at least a year ago and without prior research. Guests were coming out the door frequently so the line moved pretty quickly. I wasn't originally sure about any handicap entrance until I saw the lift on the side. It's almost unnoticeable unless you knew it was there or really staring at it while waiting. I would've missed it had there been no wait times. The restaurant was much larger than I thought it would be in the inside. The whole place was lined with booths and there were some that was mixed with chairs and booths or tables with chairs. The decor was definitely eye catching and well thought of. Since the line was truly out the door and I wanted to be conscious of our time, asked how long we get to dine and we were told 60 minutes really, however they'd work with us. For that much time, we got ourselves bottomless mimosas for 1-hr. We also got our food and dessert for maybe a little more than an hour. We were not rushed at all. Our server Allan was fantastic! He's very friendly and did spend a few more minutes with us while I asked questions about the establishment, when they're busy and when's the best time to visit. I love savory foods and I guess I wanted to try something else so I asked for recommendations and ended up getting the Fried Chicken Brunch Pancake Taco. The pancake canceled out the saltiness so I wasnt able to enjoy is as well as I thought. I was a little sad that it wasn't hitting my craving. The dish was great though. It was plated well too. I also got to try the Cheesesteak Egg Rolls. Chefs kiss! I loved the chipotle ranch sauce it came with. You can have it with or without and it still tasted excellent. I also got to try the Jumbo Fried Shrimp. It came with fries and coleslaw. And last but not least, the donuts. I took those to go and well... all I can say is, eat them when they're fresh. We came here around 12 PM after my husband saw Elm Street Diner on TikTok months ago, so we were excited to finally check it out -- and overall, it was a really fun, memorable diner experience. Once my husband saw how much food came with those dishes, he quickly backed out of ordering the churro French toast . That said, it was hard not to stare at everything coming out of the kitchen. We started with the regular mozzarella sticks, and they were excellent -- crunchy on the outside, well seasoned, and served with a really good marinara. We also ordered the Cookies & Cream waffle, which was basically dessert pretending to be breakfast, but it was tasty and fun. For something savory, we shared the Chicken Caesar Crunch Wrap. The flavors were good overall, but neither of us loved the corn tortilla/tostada layer inside. I understand it's there for crunch, but it did slightly change the flavor profile. Still good -- just not our favorite bite of the meal. The portions here are very generous. We had to box up half of the crunch wrap and mozzarella sticks to take home. We also grabbed a slice of rainbow cake to go. The slice was huge and super moist, though we didn't love the white chocolate drizzle on top -- personal preference -- but the cake itself was solid. The vibe is exactly what you'd expect: a classic diner with a heavy social-media twist. Even the bathroom had a sign that read (in the mirror) something along the lines , "Wish you were here with me at the Elm Street Diner" -- very selfie-ready. We saw plenty of people ordering regular diner breakfasts (eggs, bacon, pancakes), and everything looked good and enjoyed, so there's something here for everyone. What really stood out was the hospitality. Once our waiter heard we were from out of town, he chatted with us about the restaurant, the other location, how the menu was developed, and the thought behind it. When we were leaving, he even gave us a bottle of maple syrup "to remember us by." Such a thoughtful, unexpected gesture that made the experience feel personal.
