I came for some of Carvel's staple ice cream. I wasn't disappointed with the ice cream or their general selection of treats at a some what decent price. I had the Banana foster, Oreo dasher and vanilla chocolate cone. Everything was made correctly. Only thing is this location is rather small, so it will be pretty tight if there is any type of line. Which it was, the line was so long it went out the door. Once again because this location is smaller, this happens often unfortunately. The location is right off the parkway in both directions and it's the only Carvel in Stamford. Next closest I believe is Norwalk and Portchester. The employees do what they can to move the line, sometimes in their rush they do make mistake, but this isn't a regular occurrence. There is a parking lot, it's a decent size, laid out a little strangely but there is one. I would recommend this location, just make sure you add extra time. read more

The staff is always so kind and they make such amazing sundaes. Hot fudge is always a must!

The place is getting dingy and a mess. The workers seem miserable. Paired with $7 for a soft serve ice cream with sprinkles is absurd. The Dairy Queen 4 minutes down the road is a much better option. read more

My sister recommended this ice cream shop while I was in town. I've always loved carvel ice cream cakes growing up so I had to try. We went together on a weekday. The line was long but moved fast. The service was friendly as well. It's a cute classic shop with various ice cream for scooping, to-go cakes/cookie sandwiches, and mini desserts, and shakes/soft serve ~ they'll definitely be something for everyone if you come in a group or buying for a group. A fun ice cream stop right off the Merritt Parkway in CT! With a HUGE selection of frozen yogurt, soft serve and hard ice cream plus a TON of different toppings for our ice cream. We purchased an ice coffee and 4 ice creams! They were nice when I asked for a taster but we had just ordered 3 ice creams. It did take awhile for them to prep all the ice cream but we enjoyed it sitting outside on one of their picnic tables - there were only a few tables but in March you don't have to fight for a seat. read more

I went to this location on the afternoon of June 27, 2023, and to be clear, another person went into the store to order on my behalf, so I can't comment on how the interior of the store looks or how the employees conducted themselves. I will, however, say that the ice cream tasted fresh and whoever made my order of chocolate soft serve with whipped cream, oreo cookies, and hot fudge did a good job. Also, we must have come at the perfect time because our order was done within 5 minutes. Shockingly, it didn't melt quickly in the humid weather and make a drippy mess down the side of the cup, unlike other ice cream places in the summer months. My only tip to make this 5 stars is to give plenty of napkins to customers in case the ice cream does melt quickly read more

WOW!!! I found a new ice cream place I love in North Stamford! And they legit have everything.....hard ice cream, sundaes, frozen yogurt soft serve, ice cream cakes and more! Walking in it was packed, but the line moved quickly as there were about 3 or 4 employees working to keep the orders moving. I ended up getting a coffee ice cream in a sugar cone and it was great!!! They had so many classic flavors, as well as some nice mixed flavors. You can also add extra toppings if you so desire. My friend got a waffle bowl and it came with 3 scoops of different flavors of ice cream. The ice cream cakes are really popular, so I'll definitely have to come back and try those the next time I'm passing through this side of town. read more

Went last night and fruit flies were a major problem in there. They have self-serve frozen yogurt, which I have never seen before. The service was poor; a teen girl helping the people behind us before us but not a huge deal. I was put off by how dirty the floors and surfaces were and I wasn't blown away by the taste of my soft serve. I used to work at a Carvel and I love their ice cream on any given day but this location isn't up to the average Carvel standard. read more

Nice small carvel store. They have some parking right out front but it's only about four or five spots. Tons of options now too. Finally came to carvel after driving past it a million times. Was surprised by the interior- super cute place with a huge selection, froyo with tons of toppings, icecream, cakes/ice cream sandwiches etc. Didn't realize they don't have seating, which is a little bit of a bummer so you have to eat it in your car, outside, whatever. The iceream I got was super chocolatey and amazing. Their prices are decent. Overall, this is a great place for a cold treat on the go. read more

Opened finally after being teased by renovations for 6 months! City of Stamford held them up from opening...nothing to do with owner. The kids working there are nice. Of course I have a soft spot because Carvel was my first job :) So many different products in stock, well stocked and very clean. Last time I got an Oreo milkshake. I got a large. I've been here multiple times since it's opened since my boyfriend and his whole family live down the road but tonight pushed me over the edge... I've been going to carvel since I was a little girl ( fudgey the whale will forever be my favorite cake and the new Nutella soft serve is always a treat with crunchies!) but tonight .... (the staff that work there have no idea what there doing !!!) I ordered a small ice cream cone (soft serve) the boy very hesitant to give it to me in the first place gave it to me ... because it wasn't a size small ... it looked more like a kids cone.. no eye contact and didn't even tell my boyfriend the price because he charged for a small (horrible!) This is our local go to for ice cream and yogurt since we moved into the community 10 months ago. They have excellent long and late hours, are spotless clean every visit, friendly and helpful always. The ice cream and frozen yogurt are of excellent taste, and of carvel standards as one would expect. The frozen yogurt is self serve with the toppings, and this is all weighed for the price. The soft serve carvel ice cream is ordered from behind the counter. And there is plenty to take home such as cakes and flying saucers, my own personal favorite. There are plenty of good toppings. The portions are generous, but they are somewhat pricey. There is more than adequate parking considering there are many spots up and down the street where other merchants exist. They have ruined many a diet. read more

Stopped by for ice cream and was a little worried because the lot was crowded and there was already 6 people in the store. We stood behind the yellow social-distance lines on the floor, but shortly after, 2 more people came in and then 3 more after that. If we weren't about to be served, I would have left. The person behind us was not maintaining his distance, standing about 3 feet away. The store should have some limits on how many are inside. Won't be back until the pandemic is over. read more

Where to start. My sister ordered an edible sheet two days prior to me picking it up. So when I get there the cashier even before I ask for my order ( mind you I was in line so I was next ) decided to help the lady behind me who happens to be white and give her a spoon so she could sample the froyo instead of helping me find my order. So disrespectful when clearly I am first. Them I was told my a manager on the phone that they "neglected " to print out the sheet from two day's ago. Seriously is this how you do business !! Then the guy who is helping me doesn't even offer an apology I have to ask for a discount if I didn't they would have charged me full price for something that was supposed to be done.!! Not sure how they do business but this is completely wrong. And I just found out the guy who did the cookie sheet hung up the phone on my sister when she tried to call to see what the issue was. Confused at the previous reviews. Everyone at this location is super friendly and nice and they have the best choice of ice cream I have ever seen at a Carvel including a great self-serve yogurt area that compares favorably with Red Mango. I highly recommend this location. read more

On every occasion that my family has visited this location it has been unpleasant. The woman who works behind the counter makes the experience so incredibly challenging that is not worth going back. We were so excited for this location to open up as it is so close to our north Stamford home . The store provides a self serve soft ice cream station however this person will not allow anyone to do it other than her . She is simply unfriendly and has so many rules regarding the toppings bar and even the verbiage to order that the Carvel experience has lost its fun. We will have to make a trip to the Portchester location for a much better experience. Not to mention the pricing when weighing the ice cream is exorbitant. read more

This store has a great selection of ice cream, both soft serve and hard ice cream, and a great toppings bar. But my rating is so low because they were unbelievably irresponsible with a cake order. I called the store a week before my party to find out what the options were for cake sizes, pricing, flavors and decorating. The person I spoke to told me she didn't have all the information, took my number, and said the manager had just stepped out, but would call me back before the end of the day. I called back a couple of times to follow up, and they still had my number on file (they said "are you Lynette?" and when I said yes, they said "is this your number?"), but the manager was always mysteriously not there, and no one ever called me back. So I called back the next day and gave up on getting more information, and just placed an order for a cake with specialized flavors (an additional $2), a birthday message for my daughter, and decorations in her favorite colors. They wrote down my order and read it back to me, and guaranteed me it would be ready the night before the party for pickup. When we went to pick up the cake, they had no record of my order. We ended up just buying one of the cakes they had pre-made in the store (they have a bunch of those) and they wrote a birthday message on the spot, but it wasn't the flavors or colors my daughter had requested. We had a carvel cake for my niece's birthday tonight and found a hair in it. This is the 3rd time we have found a hair in one of our cakes. We don't get Carvel cakes a ton- here and there for birthdays- so to have found a hair in 3 of them is outrageous and unacceptable. We started going there about 2 weeks after they opened and have been there every other day since! Ice cream is always incredible especially the soft serve which is what I always get. Service is always amazing and everyone is friendly. It always has a lot of people there but the employees do a tremendous job of moving the line quickly, and I've never waited more than 5 min and I'm getting for at least 5 people.
