    Cinnamon roll and glazed donuts
    Erika L.

They have all the classic, original donuts here that'd you find when going to a donut shop (donut holes, maple bars, old fashion, glazed, sprinkles, etc etc). They've been at this location for YEARS and the service is always friendly and quick. The indoor seating is nice and they have milk, coffee, and other beverages that you can buy there too to pair with your donuts. There is no indoor restroom however and that's just something to note. We tried their CINNAMON ROLL & PISTACHIO DONUT and both were enjoyable! My husband was a BIG fan of the pistachio donut!

A childhood spot of mine, the owner is always super sweet and includes extra donut holes whenever I go. Always gotten the same thing, a sugar donut, and it's always perfect. Love their donuts!

Weekend evenings when I'm in the OC somehow always lead me to Donut Star, and honestly, I don't even have to ask myself why... Because their donuts are consistently good--like, dangerously good. The Bavarian cream, raspberry, and lemon-filled are basically my weekend therapy, and don't even get me started on the buttermilk glazed. Soft, sweet perfection that makes you forget about your diet, your problems, and the bad Chinese food you had for dinner lol Now, full disclosure: the evening lady behind the counter isn't exactly auditioning for Miss Congeniality. But hey--as long as the donuts keep tasting this heavenly, I'll keep showing up with a smile big enough for both of us. And if you happen to walk in right when the apple fritters are fresh out of the fryer? Forget sliced bread, forget world peace--THIS is the real miracle. Crispy, golden, sticky, gooey, everything you want in life wrapped up in one fritter. You'll wanna grab two, because the first one will disappear faster than your self-control lol - however, this was one of those 3 AM on my way home stops, just an FYI (and no--I am not a street walker lol) So yes, the smile-o-meter could use a little winding up, but who cares? The donuts do all the talking. And they're saying: "Come back tomorrow. And the next day. And the next."

Cinnamon twist doughnut with a black coffee.

I love coming to Doughnut Star! Every time I'm down in Orange County, it's a must-stop destination. This visit, I had a cinnamon twist doughnut with a black coffee, and both were absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and quick, making for a great experience. I also love the old-school 24/7 coffee shop vibe it has a classic charm that's becoming harder to find. If you're looking for a great doughnut and a nostalgic atmosphere, Doughnut Star is definitely worth a visit.

Open 24/7 and had been around forever. Standard donut shop, The maple bacon bar is generous with the bacon. I think its been the same lady here since I was in high school 20 years ago. She's nice. Very to the point. $3 for "a dozen" donut holes seems steep to me but I havent bought these in a few years so maybe I'm out of touch? But they tasted fine. Open 24/7!!!!

She didn't even close my lid lol

The female older employee is consistently rude for no reason I've been here for 2-3 years I've never had a problem with other employees. Today she told me light ice was a dollar extra for my iced coffee Dollar extra when you're gay and mind your business.

Walked in last night around 12am and immediately starred this location and added it to my maps under "24hr good donuts". Service was fantastic, I asked her opinion on different donuts and we shared a laugh over a flavor we had differing opinions on. The store was clean, staff was friendly, and treats were delicious. Priced very reasonably as well, four donuts and a croissant for $10! Will be coming back for sure!

I don't know when this donut star became THE DONUT STAR. I've been living in Placentia for roughly 12 years now and I have to say, this is by far the best mom and pop donut star. I don't know when the kids took over but I love the family ambience. I love the creativity that goes into every bite. I'm a first responder and have taken multiple of my work partners here all the way from east Los Angeles where we're based out of and not one single soul has rated this less then a 10/10. this place deserved more stars and more praise then it gets. Try their blueberry donut, their strawberry muffin. Their creative artistic creations and I guarantee this spot will have you coming for more. EVEN THERE COFFEES SLAP. literally what are you doing and go TRY THIS PLACE NOW.

$20 for a dozen doughnuts, and the doughnuts are stale. I would rather drive to Krispy Kreme way better quality and cheaper.

Price gouging at it's finest! $2.25 for 1 apple fritter. Way to be supportive. 3 stars because the donut is actually good.
