Donuts are good but they are not vegan. I'm giving them 2 stars because I think it's messed that they say it's vegan when it's not. If it was they would label it as vegan or like other reviewers say would be able to tell you what the ingredients are. Wow! Best tuna sandwich ever... Onions, lettuce, avocado was fresh, onions had that nice crunch and all seem to taste, blend, mesh well together. I normally don't like tuna sandwiches but this was really good. I did not have it with the bagel but a french bread type roll which was super soft. As you bite into the sandwich, it seem to just melt in your mouth... If that makes sense . You have to try and experience it yourself. This place is great! The donuts are delicious. I usually pick up a dozen to take to my co-workers and we all agree that they are light, fluffy, and not that greasy compared to others. And as an added bonus, most of them are Vegan. Just let them know that you don't eat eggs or dairy and the staff will be glad to point out the ones you can/cannot eat . My absolute favorite donut shop. I come in for the croissant and egg sandwich and a coffee each morning on my way to work, which is on Grove. I've tried the egg/croissant sandwiches at two other donut shops; one where I live(Corona) and another off Mountain in Ontario and neither of them compare! Their croissants are so fresh. The vegan donuts are heaven! I have thought that myself, that perhaps these aren't vegan at all but why would they say that? I talked with the owner/baker and he told me how he did it and damn it I have forgotten. I do remember he said he uses hot water and started making them for a relative who could not have dairy and thats how it started. So all you who think just because its delicious it cant be vegan, are wrong. There are lots of foods that would be just as good without all the nasty dairy crap thrown in but it's such a horrible habit in this country. PLUS, they are not expensive. There is something special about a small family owned business that remembers the names and "usual" orders of all of their customers. :) Now... This is in direct reply to Derek R.'s One Star review. Let's all put this SINGLE ONE STAR REVIEW IN CONTEXT: This person was sent over by a neighboring business to get ice. This neighboring business (a juice bar) chose to open WITHOUT an ice machine. Several times management or owners of this business have come over to Donut Xpress to (less than kindly) "ask" for ice or change to get through their business day. As a long time customer myself, I have witnessed this first hand and the entitlement shown by members of this neighboring business has been infuriating. Donut Xpress has always helped neighboring businesses as much as possible without sacrificing their ability to serve their own customers. Yesterday was particularly warm and they were selling through many cold drinks and smoothies, so when the neighboring business came over to demand that they be given ice, the owners of the donut shop politely refused this time because they only had enough ice at the time to make sure their own customers were taken care of for the day. As the representative from the neighboring business increased their demand and attitude, the owner of Donut Xpress reiterated that she did not have ice to spare. A few minutes later is when "Derek" arrived to request ice. No, they did not have to sell you ice. That is their right. Threatening to lie on yelp and give them a one star review (which, clearly you went through with...) is so petty and childish. It's really sad, actually. This is what you do to small businesses when you don't get your way? Over ICE? LOL You special. If you are a customer, you got caught up in some nonsense and your demanding attitude didnt help. There is an Ice store three blocks away if it means that much to you. There is also a Juice It Up... with an ice machine that can help you out. If you are management or the owner, perhaps you should have thought about what it means to have a JUICE BAR without an ICE MACHINE and either paid for it or went ahead with the County Health Department permit process that would have allowed you to have a machine rather than depending on neighboring businesses to bail you out. If you STILL don't want to do that, please refer to the previously noted ice store. It is not the responsibility of Donut Xpress to bail you out of issues, whether that be having enough change or giving you ice. You a sad panda, bruh. read more

So the donuts were really good! I've been here a few times and the customer service has been good in the past but this recent time the older lady helped me out instead and she tried to over charge me 50 cents. I was like really lady, you're gonna risk getting caught over 50 cents. She said the total for a dozen was $9 when it clearly said $8.50 on the board. Then she tried to say it was because I did not get "mixed" donuts; whatever that means. I told her i had gotten a dozen before for $8.50 and then her story changed and she said the vegan donuts are $9. Such bad customer service. I use to go here quite often before work, or at lunch or even after work. But on Wednesday June 21 myself, my boyfriend and our co-worker went for our lunch. When we went there was nobody in there and I told the owner(the man) that we had a phone order and his wife brought out our sandwiches and as I proceeded to tell him what we wanted to drink a woman came in and he grabbed her coffees and her sandwiches and started to ring her up and told me to wait when we there before her, but he helped her because he knew her. Very unprofessional. Then my co-worker then pointed out that one of the sandwiches had a what looked like a fruit bug on it, so I asked him if we could have a new sandwich because there was a bug on it and he said where and we showed him and he then waved his hand near the bug and when it wouldn't come off then he said okay and his wife made a new one. He was going to try and give us the sand which if the bug came off, DISGUSTING! And to top it off when he rang me up he kept messing up and had to keep starting over putting everything, then when my co-worker was paying he charged her twice because he messed up the first time and then had to issue a refund.
