They have you fill out a lengthy form disclosing all sorts of personal information from your SS# to your drivers licence # that information in the wrong hands could be devastating. I simply wrote incorrect numbers as I was paying for services in full, they must get stiffed here often. The waiting room may be occupied by aggressive dogs with questionable owners handling them, staff needs to manage this area better. I think muzzles should be required or keep your dog in the car until the animal is ready to be seen. The owner and lead vet here Dr.Paul Sova Sr. has done some very charitable work, his kindness has saved unwanted and abused animals from the Paterson area and this man should be commended for his compassion and service to the community, so A-OK

Our main goals were to address poor manners when people came over (jumping/barking), poor leash manners (pulling/leading the walk/leash aggression for one of them), and all around general behavior training. We wanted, and needed, help to rectify these things before our son became truly mobile. We emailed Pat on a Friday night and he called the next day. We spoke for over an hour and he reassured us that things would be okay. We scheduled a training session for later that week and haven't looked back. He is an incredible teacher; he took the time to learn about our dogs, our family dynamic, and what our hopes were for the training sessions. He began teaching us right away and showed us how to get into the minds of our dogs. We are five sessions in and there has been such a vast improvement already. We are currently working on walking both dogs and pushing the stroller - a dream of mine - that is soon to be a reality. We genuinely look forward to each session and getting to hang with Pat. Our pack was definitely out of whack but Pat has been instrumental in teaching us how to teach our dogs and reframe our thinking. If you are looking for a no BS, honest, caring trainer/behaviorist, and you are willing to trust someone, and put in the time and work, look no further - he is definitely your guy. Almost every appointment includes recommendations for add-ons like deshedding shampoo, which increases the overall cost. Today's visit was especially disappointing. I was told for the first time my dog has dry skin and they proceeded to point it out, though it wasn't clear what solution they were leading into--possibly another added service or product recommendation. Then I was told my dog had "a lot of matting" underneath her undercoat. They showed me the area, and honestly, it did not appear severely matted at all--nothing noticeably different from what she's had during previous grooming appointments with them. The owner continued explaining they weren't sure how long brushing would take before shampooing and because of that there "may" be an additional $25 charge. The uncertainty around the pricing was frustrating. I came in expecting a simple shampoo and haircut, but was quoted $115 with the possibility of additional charges depending on brushing time. The owner even suggested I take my dog home, brush her myself, and bring her back--which I found surprising. On top of that, I was told pickup wouldn't be for another 4 hours. To me, that feels excessive and seems tied to taking on too many dogs at once. If my dog is already staying for that amount of time, I struggle to understand why there may still be extra charges added. What's most disappointing is the amount of surprise fees and added services, especially as a long-time loyal customer. Every pet owner I've spoken with--many with the same breed--typically spends around $60-$70 for grooming. Also during our conversation another customer came in and waited with his dog , when clearly on their door it says one customer in store at a time . The owner should have made that clear as I felt uncomfortable all while another customer stands there listening in. Upon my arrival, there was another customer there with his dog and I patiently waited outside Needless to say, just be aware that during visits, additional services may be recommended that can significantly increase your final bill. -- A disappointed loyal customer

Amparo is professional, friendly, understanding and kind. The store itself is always clean, neat and does not smell bad. Employees there are friendly and it's evident they love animals. We usually do a little shopping after Kirby has his class there. All in all, a good shopping experience.

I was dropping off donations and when I arrived Sammi the Black one was so excited waiting at the entrance. I had just unexpectedly lost one and just needed a little time. I was leaving for Scotland and thought if she's still there, it's meant to be. Well! She was ! I took her right home. She had been surrendered to a high kill shelter and rescued by start II from there , so I knew that was already her name. She's been with about a year now and had fit in perfectly with my other rescues. This rescue is my go too, number one without question. Thank you to all the volunteers, your hard work does not go unnoticed!!!! The blond next to her only came here, because he had terrible anxiety issues and he is so perfect now. The room they used the adopt out of in the Petsmart in Wayne got shut down by the board of health because the conditions were so bad. She has been supporting a cat hoarder for years and years who has more than 50 cats in her tiny apt . She gives her food and litter and they are living on top of each other in a small space. someone should shut this down. The poor cats. Don't support this shelter. It's not on the up and up.

We did the regular wash, which including a wash/dry, nails, deshedding and sanitary trim which she has never had! They did such a great job and only took like 1hr, and she was fully dry! They did a great job on deshedding and the trim! Her booty area looks so prim & proper. I also love how they trim the hair around her paws. I also love to support a small, female owned business.
