Woof. The Zookeeper bartender was extremely helpful with the yanks - told them what he liked, ascertained what they liked, and then came up with a beer they would enjoy drinking. It was a hit! As for the decor, this place is a bit like all of the other bars owned by The New Zealand Pub Company (like the Elephant Wrestler on the Shore, which is decked out similarly to this place). The cheesiness of a themed bar often elicits a groan out of me, but the New Zealand Pub Company does it with enough camp that I'll let them get away with it.

My party was seated in the noisy section of the bar so I asked if we could be moved to the dining room as we wanted to have an early dinner. The waiter said "NO, you cannot sit there. The dinner room is being set for dinner service" He then proceeded to point at the area whilst a table of guests were getting seated. Does this mean 5 pakeha guests get different treatment from 3 asian ones? Who knows. Don't need to find out though. Drinks are good and food oily but delicious.
