First company I called gave me the same sales pitch that every big home repair service company gives lately. They pull out their tablets and explain how if you don't replace all of these components that are completely unrelated to your issue that there's simply no way that they could give you a warranty on their service because it's really just a band-aid and not a thorough repair. You might as well pay just a little more and replace the whole system, right? Those guys quoted me $1004 for a repair with no warranty and another $1000 to replace the whole door despite my existing door being perfectly fine. Jesse from Door Doctor came out and in the amount of time it took the big company to write me a quote, he had my repair done and done properly for MORE than 80% cheaper than the big company. This is a company that is sometimes contracted by Home Depot to install garage doors. They installed a Chamberlain door opener for us on July 18, 2024. On Oct. 4, 2024, one of the door cables snapped. Because it was an emergency-type situation, I called another company to help. They said basically that whoever installed the door (Door Doctor) did a horrible job. In short, in the open position, the door was opening to far. This caused damage to the NEW casing and caused slack in the cable line, which led to it breaking. The second company also identified that an important pin was missing that could have caused even bigger issues. It appears they don't know how to install and properly set up Chamberlain garage doors. I called Door Doctor to explain the situation and their primary response was "why didn't you call us first to come and look at it?" Not, "we're sorry you had to spend another $235 on your garage door" or anything like that. Also, was told to expect a call on Oct. 7, 2024, and that never even happened. With so many other options, it's probably better to go with someone else. read more

Contacted this establishment today. They had replaced my garage door 15 years ago, installed a new Chamberlain liftmaster unit with battery backup. Had a recent power outage over the weekend, battery was dead, so this morning I called them asking about a replacement battery. Woman on the phone was impolite, snotty and snippy, first thing she told me is that the cost of the service call was X dollars. I can certainly replace a battery myself after seeing the video online. She then told me she spoke to her boss and he said they have no batteries in stock and I should go to a discount battery chain to buy a battery. When I asked for what brand of battery I should buy, she said, whatever they had. Wow, won't every call them again, not helpful at all. read more

I purchased a garage door opener from Home Depot and it was installed by Door Doctor on July 5, 2016. I had to call them back out on July 7, 2016 ,,because the red sensor didn't work and the door would not close. The gentleman who installed the opened came back an said he had put a staple through the wire. He said that Genie (the maker of the opener) used inexpensive wire and it was difficult to use without putting a staple through it. On July 14, 2016 the garage door opened but it slammed shut with a great deal of force. This happened several times. I called Door Doctor Friday July 15, 2016 and was asked to release the pull to release the door. I explained I wasn't sure how to do that. Jay from the company called and walked me through the procedure. He than asked if I could open the door. I explained I could open it with no problem. He said I would have to call Home Depot and get permission for them to comeback out. I called Home Depot who said that they would call Overhead Doors who contracted Door Doctor to install the door. I could not make an appointment with Door Doctor until they got permission. I made 12 phone calls Friday to get this straightened out. They came out Monday July 18,2016 and I explained that the opener I purchased was a Genie 3/4 hp Silentmax 1000 not a 3024 When I asked Jay about this he said that the Genie 3024 was the same as Silentmax 1000. When asked what was wrong with the door that it slammed he had no answer. I requested that the garage door opened be removed after Jay said that Genie garage door openers are not good. He would not take it down and told me to call Genie to get it removed. I called Genie and they said they couldn't help. I called Home Depot and they are going to replace the opener with a Chamberlain. Door Doctor is very difficult to deal with no 2 people having the same answer. I was told after 30 days I would have to pay a service charge. I will never call or use Door Doctor again. They appear not to want to satisfy their customers read more

Door Doctors was awesome! Our cables broke yesterday, resulting in a very crooked door, bent track, and a door that wouldn't open and close. They came out first thing this morning, fixed the whole problem in less than 20 minutes and were professional and very reasonably priced.
