I called Five stars on Monday because my garage started acting funky and intermittently wasn't closing as it should. James answered the call and let me know right away that they wouldn't be able to get me on the schedule until Wednesday afternoon or Thursday, which was perfectly fine with me as I called almost at closing time on Monday. He listened to my issue and told me that someone would call me Thursday morning (the day I picked) to let me know my time slot when they made their route for the day. Thursday morning, James called me and let me know that my slot for arrival was between 10:30-11:00. Robert came to my house on time and did his initial inspections, corrected a few things he saw that could be a potential issue. However, that didn't fix my problem. He checked all the wiring, logic board of the motor, the safety sensors to make sure everything worked properly. They came out within a few hours of my call and diagnosed the problems. The technician Tyler was very professional and quickly installed a new door opener for me. I woke up to an issue with my garage door and couldn't get my car out to go to work. I frantically called and left messages for several garage repair companies only to have them not return my call, I guess they don't need the business. Not only did 5 Star answer when I called them they were able to come out within a couple of hours. They gave me a two hour window and called about 20 mins before arrival to say they were on their way. The technician was fast and efficient. He quickly located the root of the issue and was able to fix it without me needing a new door. He did a 20 point inspection of the door and also provided me quotes for a new opener in the future. The person who came was nice and seemed know what he was doing. However, he claimed he solved the problem but two days later the garage door was not working again. So the same person showed up and said now a different part was broken. I got it and I should pay for replacing new parts. I was very disappointed that I had to pay labor fee again!! The two visits were only one week apart. How come they can charge you twice for the labor fee within 7 days? I was told a very ridiculous reason - "although it was the same garage door, the problem was different." Would not recommend this service at all. I WANTED TO ADD MY COMMENTS after I saw the owner's response. During the first visit I was told there was a 90-day warranty for the labor. I should not worry about it if anything went wrong. When the technician showed up the second time and figured out the problem, he said he will only charge me for the parts since the first visit was only 7 days ago. However, after he made the phone call to his boss and he said he will have to charge me for the labor again because it was a different problem although it was the same garage door. That was the first time I was informed I will be charged again. I paid for the labor fee and did not argue with it simply because I am too nice and this technician was already there to fix the problem. BTW, I did not even complain that your company's car was broken after the repair and blocked my drive way for 2 hours. You should appreciate that! This is the most amazing company- December 2014- our garage door would not open. They were the ones that got here within an hour. Fixed/ so we could get our cars out. We then chose a new heavy duty insulated door- installed 2 days later. During this process they were thorough,reasonable, honest, and very nice. Bruce has a great team! I called 5 Star door because they have serviced my door and always did a great job. I called and said that now I need to buy a new garage door. We set the appointment for last Monday the 18th of September. The guy who came out was very nice. Mind you they already knew the size of my door because they have repaired it. So the guy gets out of the truck with no books for me to look at, no information and said he would measure - I went on to say you already know the size. I told him what I was looking for and he had no pricing on him and called the company and told me I would have a quote by Tuesday morning. Well it is now the 25th of September and no quote nothing.
