We had a seal problem. Garage door and functionality was fine. Just needed a seal. Technician could not fix it as the tech said it is apparently a concrete problem. Instead of telling me it was Unfixable before doing anything on his end, he charged me $ 178 for "servicing" my door which already works fine. I'm out the money for absolute nothing and still searching for a fix for the gaps left under our garage door. Thanks for nothing!! read more

Assa Abloy sent salesman. Delivery was 8 weeks. Week Ten door installation crew brought in. Tried to charge me to return (but ultimately did not),as my glass could not be furnished to match storefront glass color. Returned (service dept) to balance doors and install sweeps and stickers.(this alone should have indicated they needed to return,without charge). Sweeps installed revealed the light still coming through. Best we can do stated tech!! When we got the door,it had a dent (about size of dime) and seemed warped. Sent note to salesman.No response. Spent over $6000.00 on door. Best I can do, does not cut it. Come on Assa Abloy,figure it out and get it right. Whatever happened to customer service!! My sister's garage door was broken and she contacted Overhead and they came out promptly and the cost was very reasonable. The next day it wasn't working properly and she called them again. The people she spoke with were polite, very understanding and the repair was done, at no extra cost, in a timely manner. She highly recommends them & the only reason she's not writing this is because she doesn't write internet reviews; she prefers to call the company (and she did) -- also she knew the review would get done if she asked me to do it. I've had a terrible experience with this company when it was previously know as Overhead Doors. I wish I could give them no stars. I first installed in 2012 and the door rolled up and unhinged in 2015. Overhead did not pay for any damage or repair. I made the huge mistake of re-installing With them,now known as ASSA ABLOY, in 2015 and now in 2019 the door fell on my car. I had it inspected and was told the door fell due to poor installation. ASSA ABLOY refused to pay any damages or repair anything. It was horrible service. This has been my second bad experience, I would not recommend this company to anyone. These doors are too fragile they fall apart on their own.I shouldn't have to pay for new doors every four years. read more

Bought a garage door and opener from Overhead Door before it was Assa Abloy. Gotta say, it is been the worst purchase of my life. This absolute pile of steaming excrement malfunctions every single day. EVERY SINGLE FREAKING DAY!!! Has for years. Used to have the company come out. They would fix it until the next day. Then it would stop going down. Have had 21 service calls on this piece of garbage from various companies in Charlotte and the POS is malfunctioning again right now. Door will only go about 6" down, then stops and goes right back up. The door is now mis-aligned. It was level before this happened. So I am completely screwed. Now I can't even get the door down manually, which is how we use it three-quarters of the time anyway. Just going to replace this garbage this time and stop wasting time and money on this worthless piece of crap from this worthless manufacturer. If you are looking for a residential garage door and opener, go elsewhere. You could get a better performing unit by digging through the city dump. Absolute garbage. I guess that's why Assa Abloy chose to not use the Overhead Door name. I sent emails in when Overhead owned the place and got no reply. Have sent emails to Assa about it also. Those emails have also gone ignored. They could care less. I'm a residential customer. I suppose only commercial businesses matter to this place. read more

Called for emergency repair. Garage door track disconnected. Garage door partially falling off track. Called at 5pm. It's 7:38 and still no call back. What kind of 24 hour emergency service is this? Always used Overhead Door in the past and they were always responsive. Won't be dealing with them again. read more

They are okay. They can answer service calls quickly, but they give you a 5 (!) hour window of when they will show up. Our repair guy called over an hour before he was supposed to show up and I was still at work. Luckily my husband was available to handle it. Lately, the garage door opener has been acting a bit weird. After a power outage, the door would open up after power was restored. This was a big issue because I had came home on one occasion where the garage was wide open. Fortunately, nothing was taken. Anyways, I tried searching online for any type of solutions for the problem. People had mentioned it can possibly be the circuit board for the opener. Called up ODCC and spoke with Rick. He said I had the option of having them come out and check out the problem. He was thorough about breaking down the labor charge as well as the price for the replacement part. I told him I had a 99% feeling it was a bad circuit board and will replace it myself. After work, I stopped by their shop and picked up the part. Once I got home, replaced the board, adjusted the limits on the new circuit board (control panel).....BACK TO NORMAL OPERATION. I would give it 5 stars but I had to wait longer than I should for the guy to ring me up for the part. The person I dealt with at their shop wasn't Rick. My suggestion would be that they should at least have a City counter so customers can pick up parts faster. Overall, I'm satisfied. Thanks Rick and ODCC!!! read more

My builder hired them to install garage door my brand new house. Just 2 days after we moved in the garage door slammed down really hard breaking the glass also.My wife was close and she is still scared to go near it.My builder had me call overhead door company and they made all sorts of excuses that they can't come now and will charge me 150 an hour. Then when my builder called, they were home in less than an hour to take pictures. It took them a month to replace half of damage. Other half was replaced another 3 days later. I requested them twice to make an appointment and call me before scheduling repair appointment as i had some security sensors installed which i had to remove from old door but they show up as a surprise and i was not home, so there comes another week of delay. DO NOT HIRE THEM. I believe your experience can be worse as i was kind of covered by my builder. If you hire them for personal work and not wholesale like my builder then they might not even listen to you. I truly believe and understand that things and accidents happen but this is not the way it should have been handled for sure. read more
