I've had new doors as well as rebuilds on elderly wood doors which are a big boon to remodeling and renovations. I parted ways with the big company that I've been loyal to for 40+ years. A lot of doors and openers over that many years and the end result was to move on when I engaged them to replace my personal doors that they installed in 1988. I contacted Jeff C. from Doors by Mike to stop by for a proposal since they're in the neighborhood in Conyers. I was slowly moving over to Doors by Mike and decided when Jeff pulled out a proposal to rebuild my overhead doors as they were still in very good shape....just needed to be updated....that was trigger. The old timers garage doors group in Atlanta wasn't interested in proposing rebuilds with hardware, springs, rollers and sill insulated bulb....they had in mind their own brand door at four times the price of a rebuild. The end result....Doors By Mike recognized the value of the existing doors and since they were sound enough to simply rebuild and install a new opener....I had little problem with bidding goodbye to my former overhead door service providers. I was obviously more loyal to the old guys in the business than the old business was being to me. It's no longer the company that it once was. The recent install yesterday was a big boost to the appearance of the elderly house that I've been working on. It fits square to the opening and closes all the way down to the concrete threshold. The door is actually a product of the old timers garage door group. They missed the boat of providing a service rather than try to unload excess inventory that the sales people HAVE to push and move each month. If the door had been pretty much road kill and needed to be replaced rather than rebuilt.....perhaps a different tale. But as it is I'd still go with Doors by Mike. Good product. Good installs. Very approachable with regards to the optimal resolve to your overhead door problems or failures. As I retire after 50 years of homebuilding....it's good to know that Doors by Mike continues a tradition of working with customers to make sure that they're getting the best bang for their construction bucks for builders as well as homeowners. read more

The 3 stars is only because Malik was fantastic. He was kind and knowledgeable. I should have shopped around, but called Doors by Mike and made an appointment because their sticker was on the garage door of the house I bought, and I was stuck in a power outage with a broken emergency release cord. Had I known the $99 was just for him to park in my driveway, I would have canceled. I had been told that I would be charged additionally for parts if I moved forward with any service, which is fair. The part I needed was unavailable. No parts were used during my visit. Yet still I was charged extra for him touching things. I could have asked my neighbor to help me program the keypad. I am glad he helped me that day but I will not recommend this company. Unexpected charges benefit nobody. read more

It is a real pleasure to watch someone who is a craftsman work his trade. I was lucky enough to get Ross from Doors by Mike to come by today. He called ahead, arrived on time, handled my Bassett Hounds attention with grace, and got right to work. He fixed my problem and readjusted the opener so it worked perfectly. This was all the more impressive since the last guy to look at it two months ago said it couldn't be repaired and that we had to replace the unit! I could not be more impressed. Running into a person who has the kind of mind that looks for solutions instead of taking the easy way out reminds me of how important character is in life. I called on Thursday for an appointment to repair my garage door. Bradley arrived Friday at 3:20 and replaced the drive belt, however he was unable to adjust the trolley. He said that the issue could be a bad mother board or circuit board. We decided that a replacement might be in order (Cost about $500.00). He left, taking my door motor housing and light covers. I adjusted the door and had it fixed in 15 minutes. I had paid him $99.00 service call on arrival. When I drove 10 miles to retrieve my motor cover I found they had lost my light covers. I received a bill today for $177.62 for the drive belt. I am disappointed that I had to do the repair AND drive to get my parts he took. read more

I ordered a glass shower door. The ordering process with Melvin was great. He came out measured gave me good information about the shower door and answered all my questions. The installation went smoothly the installers told me about the door and what to do post installation. Two days after installation I finally used my new shower. I noticed after I finished showering there was a lot of water on my floor. The shower glass was leaking in several areas. I called to get someone to come back and check and it took about a week but the call center process was not good. I called left a message and waited for someone to return my call and after a day I called them back. When I called back I got transferred several times until finally someone took my service request. Psalm one came out resealed the shower door and again told me to wait at least 24 hours before I use the shower. Again I waited longer than 24 hours to use the shower because I wanted to make sure that the seal was dry. When I finally did use the shower again and it was leaking in one spot. I called the call-center again to put in a service request and I did speak to one lady. She said that she would give me a call back because she needed to figure out how to put in this request. Well no call back sooo now I will probably have to wait another week to get my shower resealed so it does not leak. Hopefully when they come out to seal the glass again there are no more hidden openings. read more

We had a WiFi connected garage door opener installed and after about a month we added a signal booster to the WiFi and changed the password. After the password change our garage camera would not come back online. Repeated calls with the manufacturer technical support was difficult (language barrier) and frustrating. I called Doors by Mike and they tried everything plus some tricks they knew about. The one last option was to uninstall the app and then reinstall/reboot the app and garage door opener. That didn't work either. Doors by Mike said "That's enough, we will completely replace your garage door opener" with the latest and best model we have in stock. They replaced it that day. I couldn't ask for better service. read more

I had Doors By Mike (DBM) come replace a Spring on my garage door. I would say the actual work done was fine (the door works now). The price they charged was over the top (about 50% higher than competitors rate). The charge was $366 and I called a large competitor after the work was done and their price was $249. I didn't price shop before hand - shame on me - clearly my fault. Don't make the same mistake I did - price shop and you can easily beat the prices charged by Doors By Mike! read more

Bad business got an estimate which was ridiculous overpriced, gave deposit. Then got another estimate that was 1,000$ cheaper so I decided to go with best price. Called and told them that I'm not gonna use them. Wanted my deposit back. The rip offs really tried to charge me 200$ for the guy to come out and give me an estimate. What business charge you for them give you an estimate? This was bad business. read more
