If you're okay with "slow as molasses," then this company might work for you…read more Let's start with the sales experience. Our sales rep, Guy, told us the job would take two to three weeks. We thought, "Great! That means there will be a crew of people working on the kitchen and bathroom simultaneously to get it done quickly!" (Which was similar to other quotes we had received) And this was a main reason why we chose this company. That turned out to be laughably inaccurate (more on that in a minute). He also told us DDR operates like a licensed general contractor, with rotating crews of specialists coming in for each phase of the project. That simply isn't true. Aside from the countertop and backsplash installers, one glorified handyman did nearly everything--painting, plumbing, trim, electrical, cabinet refacing. The process was nothing like what we were sold, nor what their website claims. As for the actual project: On day one, we were told by the project manager, Tony, our kitchen and small bath remodel would take five weeks. That alone contradicted the two-week estimate from sales, but we adjusted our expectations. What we didn't expect was for the project to drag on for NINE FULL weeks. And not because of complexity--we didn't run into any issues--just poor planning and underwhelming project management. For most of the job, we had one person working 6 (ish) hours a day, moving slowly. A couple of those weeks, there was a second set of hands, but that was the exception. We never saw a project schedule. No clear timeline. No accountability. And despite repeated questions, the project manager, Tony, wouldn't commit to an end date- even up to the last week of the job. To be fair, the final product looks good and we're happy with the outcome itself. But the journey to get there was frustrating. Communication was minimal, our questions were often brushed off, and worst of all, we overheard the team making unprofessional and disrespectful comments about us in our own home on more than one occasion. When confronted about it in a matter of fact manner, Tony refused to acknowledge the disrespect and instead walked of my house and left. I guess he just could not handle adult conversations. Nor did he like our questions about timing the whole nine weeks. He would not own up to past conversations about timing and throughout the entire project he never apologized or empathized about the delays. All he did was continue to make excuses. At one point, we asked for something to be corrected to match the rest of the job, and the worker's response was, "Well, if it breaks, you can just call us and we'll come fix it." Ummmm... What?? Wrong answer. We expect the work to be done right the first time. While the issue was eventually addressed, the response was disappointing. We weren't difficult clients--we simply paid attention, caught mistakes (like laying shiplap the wrong direction and painting the wrong color), and expected accountability, especially for a project that cost over $50,000 and ran nearly double the original estimated time. If you still choose to go with this contractor, then I suggest you get a very detailed contract with an estimated timeline in writing. Our contract was too vague which played to their advantage about timing, but to our advantage regarding a couple of other project related items. Ultimately, while the end result is fine, the experience was not. Based on our experience, we would NOT recommend DDR and will never work with them again. We expected far more from a company that markets itself as a licensed general contractor.

Russ is very…read morepassionate about his work, knows what he is talking about, and gave me a very fair price to do the job. I talked to several companies about this job (initially, we weren't sure if we were going to go back with real cedar that was originally on our house or the Nichiha cedar shake) that Russ recommended. I had many questions, and he answered all of them! His crew arrived on time and worked efficiently. My wife and I were initially nervous about how the shake siding would look compared to the real cedar we had before. But as you can see in the pictures, it turned out wonderfully, even better than we expected. Russ immediately followed up to ensure I was satisfied after the job was done. This is our second time using Russ. He also replaced the siding on two of our chimneys a few years ago and did a great job with that as well. Don't hesitate to contact Perfection Roofing & Siding for all your siding and roofing needs. We will definitely use them again!
