I have a 4 year old son with autism and have been turned away from other hair cutting places due to my son being to "difficult" ....he has a big fear of hair clippers because of the vibration and noise of them. Skip has totally changed my son's reaction to getting a hair cut, she has literally spent hours with my son each session trying to comfort him and was extremely patient with him. Today my son had a haircut appointment and as we were walking up to the door he let go of my hand and ran into the barber shop excited to see skip and TODAY he actually sat down and had a 15 minute haircut...as dumb as that might sound to some people my son has never sat down and just recieved a haircut it takes A LOT of breaks and bribes to get him threw a almost 2 hour hair cut! My son begin to go there and we got the Barber daniel he is very talented and skilled with skin fade on biracial hair. He is very good with children and keeps a good conversation he is available on Booksy to make an appointment. He is always on time and is pretty quick without compromising the quality of his cuts my nine-year-old enjoys getting his hair done in addition to that I enjoy the confidence my son has after getting out of a haircut with daniel. All the many places claim to cut hair well,but true talent is hard to find and daniel is definitely talented as far as his haircuts go. My daughter has been wanting an undercut with design for a while. So on this particularly hot day we decided to be spontaneous and go to the closest barbershop. This place looks cool, urban industrial is always a nice touch. The place is minimalist but no wasted space. There's a pool table in the waiting area, but kids(understandably) aren't allowed to play. I walked in, waited to be talked to and probably stood a good two-three minutes before being acknowledged. At this point there is only one barber setting up. A guy who walked in after me and my girls goes up ahead of me and says he has an appointment. The barber greets him and instructs him where to go. I speak up and ask if walk ins are available and the same barber greets me and says yes and to put my name down. I put my daughters name down and we sit on the large, comfy, oversized couch. We sit on the couch and barbers slowly start to trickle into the studio, setting their stations up. A few gentlemen walk in, some with appointments, one without. A new barber comes up and looks at the walk in sheets, looks around, I try to make eye contact to say "over here that's our name" but he looks us over and scribbles on the paper and proceeds back to his station. Two barbers are grooming themselves while the others start on their appointments and walk ins. I finally go up the counter as a female barber walks in. I tell her "we put our name down and he crossed it off and no ones spoken to us" she immediately apologizes and the barber who crossed the name out apologizes as well. At this point I realize they probably thought we were waiting for our "man". The barber springs into action and gets set up very fast. My daughter sits down and he takes his time, working off the picture we showed him He didn't do the design as shown because my daughter had a couple cowlicks on her nape. I appreciated him pointing that out. He was quick, clean, and sweet. My daughter had a good first time experience. I will probably come back when it's time for a trim for her and hopefully there will be warmer communication on the staffs behalf. Although I do feel that this is a place where they have their core clientele so they're a bit shaky with walk ins. read more

I'm new to Fresno. I walked into this shop with my husband, asked if they accepted walk-ins. I was greeted by a barber and he said yes and it would just be a few moments. He then asked if I'd like a cold beer while I waited or a shot of Hennessey. Hmmmmm. I decided on a cold beer. I enjoyed the vibe of this barbershop I waited for my husband to get a haircut. We were in and out of the shop in about 30 minutes. My husband says this is the best haircut he's ever gotten, so you guys definitely earned your five star review. Kid friendly. My son has had the same barber for 8 years and unfortunately for him he was out of town and we had scored being a walking in and only waiting 5 min. My little guy was a little hesitant because he got one of the gals there but as we walked out he said " mom, did you get her number?". I giggled and replied "no, why"? I was informed by a bearded fellow that haircuts are only by appointment on Mondays and that I arrived too late in the day. He was idle without scissors in use. Odd. Please post on your website that you're closed on Mondays to the public and that you close at 6:30 PM, too. I asked for a business card, and I was informed the supply ran out. Expect shady business here and with unearned pride. Seek professional barbers elsewhere. They exist, but nope--not here for sure. read more

I Went into this place to get a haircut and a shave. The female who gave me a shave did it really fast and made me bleed a lot all over my face. I told her to slow down and at that point she told me to leave her shop because I was making her look bad in front of the other customers. I've gotten a shave from multiple places and never bled. First time here, signed in and I notice only 3 ppl ahead of me. There were five Barbers on staff, so figured it wouldn't take long. Well that wasn't the case, apparently you can book appointments with the staff ahead of time. Would've been nice if the rest of us walk-in customers knew. 4 out of 5 barbers we're setup with appointments, so the only barber whom wasn't taking appointments was mediocre (no offense but her clients did not receive "barber" level cuts). Many clients including my self ended up leaving after the long wait time. I'm not wasting 3hrs on a Saturday for a mediocre haircut. The only reason I gave two stars is because the owner, at least I presume it was, offered drinks to the clients waiting. I get it, good hospitality which you don't see in Fresno. Thanks for the offer, but i wasn't there for the drink, nor the 3hr haircut. Communicate with your clients, don't let them wait like a heard of sheep. Perhaps it's only like this on weekends? My advice to new customers, book an appointment with the experienced barbers. They're definitely worth it read more

I went to this place to get a beard trim and a hair cut. On the phone the guy asked me what I wanted and that's what I told him so I set an appointment. I had to wait 15 minutes after my appointment time but that didn't bother me cuz I know it's never an exact time. Bottom line the guy messed up on my hair cut. Messed up on my beard and to top it off when he was done he didn't even give me a mirror to look at my cut to make sure I like it. He simply had me get off the chair pay him and then sent me on my way. Everyone is entitled to do what they want but I suggest if you go here do not have the young guy cut ur hair. He's clearly still learning and that's fine but don't charge full price if this guys is clearly still learning. read more

I walked in this afternoon wanting to get myself and my three sons a haircut but was informed by a short woman with a hat that all the barbers have appointments(rudely) and the wait time could be up to 2 to 3 hours. She said I could put my name on the list and come back in a few hours. I asked her if all the barbers had an appointments right now and she said that she would have to ask the barbers. Another female and male then spoke up and told us that they could take us in. My sons and I appreciate those two barbers. This lady sits in the first chair to the left and just wasn't very nice or welcoming. This was my first time there (and is going to be my last) and wasn't aware that it was by appointment only.
