I walked in there one day just thinking maybe I could get a haircut. There was no customers. It was about 2 o'clock in the afternoon on a weekday and literally they asked me if I had an appointment I told them now, and they will refused to serve me at all. I actually told the young people that were in there. There's nobody else here they didn't care they literally told me they wouldn't cut my hair and I'm pretty sure it was because I am over 50. I would never go back to this place again, because I felt extremely unwelcome . I run a small business in town and if anybody ever came in my business telling me they worked at this location. Okay, so I'm kind of shy in telling people how to cut my hair. Since my work leads me on the fly I don't always schedule an appointment, and I've never really stuck with a barber. Was impressed at how friendly the staff were when I walked in. Never caught the barber's name but he was a super chill dude! I'm usually terrified of having a razor anywhere near me by random people, but this dude was awesome and never made me question anything. There were even parts where it was almost like he wasn't there as he was trimming. Super stoked for the haircut and beard trim, and the dude really listened to me. Bros, we all have had some bad haircut experiences. But when I tell you this place peaked in providing the ****iest experience possible. It's an understatement. I think there are good barbers in here but ffs don't roll the dice and walk in. Waited an hour and a half, got skipped over, finally sit down explain in detail what I want and homie must of been thinking about the burger he was going to order for dinner because I don't think any of it registered. I explained how I wanted all 100% of my hair cut. Homie decided to spend the next hour meticulously cutting the lower 30% of my hair. Then slopped a bunch of smelly oily shit in my hair and handed me a mirror. It was F***ed boys. The part he did cut was okay but it looked like if someone put rims on a car that's paint was peeling. Now 2.5 hours into this I'm just ready to get out of this dirty, alcohol bottle, getto barber shop and go home. But just like any good story, there is more. Dude only takes Apple Pay or zelle, like wtf. I have card and $10 cash I was prepared to tip. (Yeah right) Homie says just put your card info and do Apple Pay... yeah no. Dude makes me walk in the rain across the lot to Safeway to get cash back. Do that, walk back through the rain and now I'm home. Free from that dookie hole they call a barber shop. The barber who helped me today had a problem with his buzzer. It hurt quite a bit and caused some minor abrasions. I just hope his buzzer was clean and I don't get some sort of infection. Edit , after a few days: Also, he did a couple of things they no one has ever done cutting my hair. He actually cut my bangs at the root. So I have this little prickly bunch of hair sticking out on my hairline and the rest of my hair is combed to the side. Nothing I can do with it. Just a row of prickly short hairs sticking out on my hair line. He also buzzed all of my hair off around my ear. So there is a big visible gap of skin protruding around my ear. I brought my nephew in to get a tapered cut. Basic for a barber shop. He had never been in a legit shop he was really looking forward to it. When we left he seemed ok with the cut but got in the back seat. I looked at it when we got home, which was my mistake to wait, I should have done it at the shop... It was a mess. It had choppy lines and patches where you could see the blade level changes. His hair is longer on top there was a chunk in the front with mixed long and short choppy pieces. There was no blending done. There were long hairs left throughout the back of his head randomly. My sister gets his hair cut at a cheap super cuts walking style place. I came in as a walk in and got into a chair in about 20 minutes. I actually thought I was going to have to wait much much longer just by watching how meticulous the barbers were making their cuts. Embarrassingly, I pulled up a photo online (of bad ass Cable from Deadpool movie) and asked for that cut. Carlos looked at the photo for about 10 seconds, asked a couple questions, and was on his way. About 25 minutes later, I was a Josh Brolin look alike! Thank you Carlos for the attention to detail. I originally had a bad experience at this location turned out to be a misunderstanding with scheduling. The owner was super kind and respectful and turned everything around. Again my experience was due to scheduling as far as the atmosphere of the shop and talon of The barbers it's best in town hands down. Even sitting in my chair watching other guys get cut everyone walked out with a fresh cut and no complaints. These guys try for service and really do an excellent job prices are very fair and compared to every other place in Fresno. By far as talent and atmosphere this place gets 10 Stars. The haircuts were great, it's the pricing that threw me off. I called to make an appointment for our first time coming here with my 2 sons. John set me up with an appointment for 3 when I called at noon and I was grateful to get both kids in at that time. He told me over the phone it would be 20 each. That was ok with me. I got there and the board said 15 each for kids. They got simple fades, but still I figured he got us in last minute and the 20 each was still ok with me. When I went to pay I pulled out a 50 (I intended to give him the full 50 to include tips for both boys) but when he saw the 50 he told me "ok that will be a total of 50". One of the worst hair cuts I received in my life, I was visiting the Fresno area and needed a hair cut for work and went off yelp reviews. Once I got there I seen the main barbers was busy with other customers and one was free and he looked like that new guy or that guy you don't go to at the barbershop. I would been better going to a base and getting a hair cut and for my military folks, y'all know how bad the base can be. The barbershop as a whole I don't know if all they can cut or not but the barber name JESSE MAYBERRY is again the worst barber I ever had, let me start off with the things he did good, it was only one thing is using a bigen hair dye spray to cover his mistakes. I understand he maybe still learning but when someone is paying for a service and you out of scope get help and try not to cover it up, I didn't think he messed up that bad, I'm a little older so barbers like to cover my grays so they can take pictures and what not but he was so focused on trying to impress the barber next to him and checking his phone and into the music too much, his skill level doesn't allow these acts to happen. On to the bad my line looked like a wave graph and the bad of my head wasn't blended well and spots but he didn't go with the swirl in the back of my hair, as a barber you should know how to cut different hair types. My hair looked ok until I went to wash my hair and all the dye washed out and his mistakes really stated to show, I would skip this barbershop only because the only barbers had to see his handy work and they let a customer walk out representing their product. read more

Set up an appointment with Carlos, (seen that the wait time was fairly long for non appointments from reviews) showed up to my appointment and could see why the wait time was a while. These barbers take their time with every client, especially Carlos. He made sure that I was happy with my haircut and that I left satisfied. This is by far the best barbershop I've been to and I'm very set with making this my usual spot and Carlos being my barber from now on. I don't usually ever leave a review but this time I absolutely had to. I called in asking for a someone that can give a good fade and that knows themselves around scissors. The person in charge of the phone assuming his the manager or owner picked up saying "everyone here can do anything" I went on taking about how picky I am and if he could recommend someone good. He said yah come in ask for Jessie. I came in and while waiting for Jessie he directed me to one of the guys which with all honesty seemed new at the shop. I sat down explained him exactly what I wanted but it was like it came in one ear and one out the other. He went on with the cut and did the fade completely wrong and not even close to what I wanted. I let him finish so I don't look crazy coming out of there and didn't let him touch the top of my hair. I left and then I noticed even the fade that hes done was completely uneven. Very disappointed because this could of been easily avoided by caring for the customers a little bit more and directing them to the right person that can do the job.
