I get my nails done next door at iBeauty Nail Shop and saw Kongo Barbershop be developed over the months. It opened and a few months later while my mom and I were getting our nails done the music next door was poppin so we decided to check it out for the men in our life (dad and fiancé). My dude as beautiful long hair with a scruffy looking beard. My had has a beard he has been growing out for years and never treated himself to barber experience ever in his life. Mom and I walked in and was greeted immediately from the staff and owner. Very sweet down to earth people. He gave his flyers to give to our loves. Dad was onboard and scheduled his cut on 12/30/23 and the dude was hesitant due to it being his birthday. So we still working on him coming in as he definitely needs a styled look :) Anywho, dad and I walked in on 12/30/23 at 9:07am. Greeted immediately. He was seated with one of the best. He got started away. Since it's like guy bonding stuff I decided to let them do their thing and pop over periodically to see how dad was doing . The lobby area was spacious. I loved the vibes and music as they played some of my favorite songs. Dad seemed so happy to be pampered and even looked relaxed. Dad said he would recommend and I would too. He is happy with the results and definitely see the instant confidence boost too. If you haven't booked your appointment or walked in yet GO! We weren't disappointed at all. My nail tech recommended this place and I'm so glad she did. I will be scheduling my dudes appointment as well to get him all cleaned up. Great experience! read more

Highly recommend Caleb! I'd been going to the same barber in San Diego for 15 years, so finding someone new after moving to Fresno wasn't easy. Tried a couple shops since July, but I FINALLY found the one! Told Caleb exactly what I wanted -- he asked a few quick questions and went to work. Dude crushed it. Went in on Saturday as a walk in which is normally never a problem. The shop was busy and I didn't want to wait so I decided to come back Monday morning. I walk in and all of the employees are sitting down not cutting hair. I said I was a walk in and was told no one was available to cut my hair. I said there's no one here! To which I was told they had appointments coming at 10:00. I walked out and one of them came running out saying he would take me but I had had enough!!! If you advertise that walk ins are welcome, you should have a barber available to service them!!! I'm done with Kongo Barbershop!!! read more

Said they work with Asian hair. And any length. Went in and they told me they don't do "long" haircuts but my hair was only past my ears. Then proceeded to have both sides different lengths and burned me with a clipper when making a design on the nape of my neck. Thought it was a bad day so I went in 2 weeks later and got declined by 2 men in the shop, when it was completely empty! read more

Not a good option for new clients. I want to start off by stating that I am not from the area, so I'm unfamiliar with the area. I made a same-day appointment using their website for a haircut and beard service, which I am used to doing back home, and paid upfront. Unfortunately I went to the wrong location - I live between both locations and the GPS took me to this location. Talking the barbers there I realized that this happens a lot. I called and explained this to the barber who I initially made the appointment with, I felt horrible but he told me that I could get a refund and that it was cool. I thought that was really gracious of him, but that was 2 weeks ago and nothing. I have sent an email to their contact info and I still have not received an update. My experience - I went back into this location afterwards and I was taken by a barber that takes walk-ins (roughly waited 15 min). The barber was nice and had good social skills but the haircut was not it. Mainly because I could see parts of the fade that were not blended correctly - some parts were sticking out. Lastly, they use wall air pressure instead of hair dryers that is excessively loud. They're great for inflating tires, but not during haircuts. read more
